GENEVA - Infiniti has world and European premier's at Geneva,

  • World premiere of Infiniti Q50 with four-cylinder diesel engine
  • European debut of Q50 3.5 Hybrid – pure Inspired Performance
  • Infiniti Red Bull Racing F1 car with new livery for 2013
  • Luxury LE Concept electric vehicle

Infiniti’s pledge of more models, more engines and more choice for European motorists becomes real in spectacular fashion on the Infiniti stand at this year’s Geneva Motor Show. Among the world and European debuts are cars powered by four and six-cylinder diesel engines, hybrid powertrains, pure electric drive systems – and a V8 with KERS energy recovery system in World Champion Sebastian Vettel’s Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula One car.

“This is our most European line-up ever which reinforces our confidence in Europe,” said Johan de Nysschen, President, Infiniti Motor Company Ltd. “We promised new models with smaller, lower CO2 engines and now we are starting to deliver them.”

The Infiniti Q50, making its debut in Europe, is the first Infiniti Q car to take the Geneva spotlight. An all-new saloon for the premium D segment, the Q50 is on show in Geneva in potent 364PS 3.5 Hybrid form and also, enjoying its world premiere, as the Q50 2.2d powered by a new 2.2-litre diesel engine. Infiniti’s first four-cylinder diesel unit boasts both performance, thanks to its 170PS and 400Nm of torque, and low emissions starting from below 115g/km of CO2.

The Q50’s emotive styling with distinctive human eyes-like headlight and ‘Double Arch’ grille, its world-first technologies such as Direct Adaptive Steering, and a digital environment promising unprecedented levels of customisation distinguish Infiniti’s most European car yet.

The Q50s on the stand showcase the model’s exclusive new Hagane colours and show a variety of the features that will be available across the Q50 range – a range tailored for both private and fleet customers.

Infiniti is showing a taste of the future in the form of the LE Concept. Infiniti’s first 100% electric car, the dramatically-styled LE Concept proclaims “dynamic luxury” far more than “electric vehicle”, something the production version – due in under two years’ time – will maintain. As an Infiniti, driving pleasure and performance will be uppermost.

Infiniti’s Geneva show stand will feature one car with absolutely nothing to prove on the performance front: three-times World Champion Sebastian Vettel’s Formula One machine in its 2013 livery to reflect the new team name – Infiniti Red Bull Racing.

As well as the new cars Infiniti is proud to roll out its new Infiniti Q naming strategy in Geneva. During the first two media days the top-selling FX will be displayed as the QX70. The new badges recall Infiniti’s beginning 24 years ago with the iconic Q45 and all models will eventually be badged Q (saloons, coupes and convertibles) or QX (crossovers).

With global sales bucking the trend and up 17% in 2012, Infiniti’s expansion continues with new Infiniti Centres opening and the Infiniti range now available in nearly 50 countries across the globe.
