Homer, Bart and the Simpson family are sponsored by Kia on Channel 4

  • Kia sponsors idents on ‘The Simpsons on 4’
  • Idents highlight FUNctionality of the new seven seat Kia Carens
  • Starting from the 7th June for three months

Kia Motors (UK) Limited has joined forces with the world’s most loved dysfunctional family on TV with a three month sponsorship with Channel 4 of episodes of ‘The Simpsons on 4’. Starting on the 7th June at 18:00 the idents will run on each episode through to the 6th September with additional weekend episodes being transmitted between 12:00 and 15:00.

The TV idents feature a family of seven getting into their Kia Carens in fun ways – from using periscopes to find their way, passing through a vortex and sneezing their way in. Each ident will appear four times on each episode with a run of 15”, 10” or 5” depending on the credit length.

Lawrence Hamilton, Marketing Director at Kia Motors UK Ltd., said “Being able to appear alongside ‘The Simpsons on 4’ is an ideal opportunity for the brand to reach family audience with a fun message about the new the Kia Carens – the ideal family car. At Kia we are no stranger to the reach and interest that TV sponsorship raises, we have seen a definite rise in web and dealer visits from previous sponsorship activity. ”

The creative ideas behind the idents was to emphasis the FUNctional elements of the new Kia Carens seven seat car in a bright, fun, cartoon style animation with a touch of quirkiness so that the idents sat perfectly with the humour of the show. The idents were created by London based production company Blac Ionica with direction from Jon Evans and Chris Strong.
