Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

New Focus leaked ahead of Geneva reveal

Pictures of the facelifted Ford Focus have leaked online ahead of the car's expected debut at the Geneva motor show next month.

A comprehensive collection of images were posted on an automotive forum earlier today, showing the new Focus in both regular hatchback and estate forms.

Among the key changes for the facelifted car is the adoption of Ford's new corporate front end, featuring a larger, more prominent front grille inspired by Aston Martin, as well as a new headlight cluster and bumper design. A slightly updated rear-end design can also be seen, most notably on the rear light clusters.

The majority of changes will be seen inside, with big improvements to the interior finish alongside an updated centre console. From these pictures, we can see Ford has tried to give the Focus fewer buttons inside, as well as a larger central infotainment screen.

While the facelifted Focus is expected to keep its current range of engines, albeit with slight improvements to improve CO2 emissions and fuel economy, current reports suggest Ford will also introduce its new 1.5-litre Ecoboost engine to the range. That engine will be built in the UK alongside a new 2.0-litre turbodiesel unit.

Reports also suggest the Blue Oval could use also offer a hybrid version of the Focus to take on the recently-revealed Volkswagen Golf GTE, with the company taking the technology from its plug-in C-Max. Any hybrid variant is likely to be a long way off, however.

A range-topping RS variant is due to follow in 2015. That model is tipped to be powered by a 2.3-litre four-cylinder Ecoboost engine with 330bhp and 300lb ft of torque. That same engine also appears in the new Mustang.
