Second-generation Toyota Aygo makes an early appearance online in leaked images
Leaked images of the second-generation Toyota Aygo have surfaced online, giving us an early glimpse of the new supermini ahead of its official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show this week.
The leaked images follow an official teaser shot of the new Aygo released previously. The latest images show Toyota has fitted a more aggressive front bumper and grille, with LED daytime running lights integrated into the lower section of reworked front end.
At the back, there is a far more angular design to the tail lamps and rear bumper. Although the images do not show it, it’s likely the new Aygo will be available with a retractable fabric roof and a sportier three-door bodystyle.
The new Aygo will be based on the same platform as its French relatives the Peugeot 108 and Citroen C1 – both of which were officially unveiled last month. Although there is no official confirmation from Toyota, engines are also likely to be shared between the three superminis, meaning a range of three-cylinder petrol engines will be available.
Prices for the second-gen Aygo should start from a round £9,000 when it arrives in showrooms later this year. More information and technical details will be announced at the car’s official unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show.
