USA - March sales, a good month over all, with just a few showing declines.

Sales day is here once again and this year falls upon April Fool's Day. And for good measure, as some of these numbers are hard to take at face value. The upward trend of sales continues into the third month of the year, with many automakers reporting either best-ever sales months or best March sales within the last decade.

Audi continues its strong performance for the first quarter of the new year, outpacing its 2013 record sales with a 7.5 increase over the same month last year. In what we thought was a surprising turn of good fortune, GM brands saw an increase in sales over last year, with all brands aside from Cadillac posting positive sales numbers. It looks like the recalls aren't dropping those sales numbers too much.

Ford also saw its best March in eight years, with help from the ever-popular F-Series which broke 70,000 units. Other brands like Jeep, Fiat, Mazda, Subaru, and Mercedes-Benz reported strong sales numbers, along with broken records.

We expect more positive sales numbers as the weather heats up for summer, but you can check out all the sales numbers for March 2014 in the chart below.
