SEPTEMBER SALES - SKODA (UK) - Records continue to tumble at Skoda.

  • 10,991 new ŠKODAs registered as new ‘64’ plate models hit the road
  • Year to date registrations now 60,386 – up 21.8% on 2013
  • 2014 market share rises to 3.08%
  • Octavia and Fabia lead the way
ŠKODA UK has recorded its busiest September ever with 10,991 registrations for the all-important plate change month. The 2014 figure eclipses last September’s total of 10,380 registrations.
The record September figures have further boosted ŠKODA UK’s performance for the year, bringing the total number of registrations up to 60,386 – a 21.8% increase over 2013 (49,576 units registered). ŠKODA’s market share has also risen to 3.08% for 2014 year to date – another new record.

Leading the registration charge in September was the new Octavia, with combined hatch and estate registrations of 2,742. The Fabia continued its strong 2014 performance with combined hatch and estate registrations of 2,380 units for September. The Yeti, Citigo and Superb completed the ŠKODA registration top five with figures of 1,783, 1,746 and 980 units respectively.
Commenting on the record September performance, Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK said: “September is always a very exciting month for the brand and our customers, and we’re thrilled with these record figures. That so many chose to have their ‘64’ plates on a ŠKODA highlights our strength in depth and the fantastic job our retailer network is doing.”
ŠKODA UK’s performance reflects the ongoing success of the brand on the global stage. Worldwide sales figures for September are up 10% compared to 2013, with strong growth in China and Western Europe.
