Concern :RISK OF FIRE
Description :If the vehicle is involved in a rear end collision, then it is possible that the fuel tank could be damaged. This can then result in a fuel leak, which if in the presence of an ignition source, then a vehicle fire could ensue.
Remedial Action :Recall all affected vehicles and inspect the rear of the vehicle. If the vehicle is fitted with a tow bar, then this will be inspected and if not suitable, then it will be replaced. If the vehicle is not fitted with a tow bar, then a rear protection bar will be fitted. However, if there is any pre-existing collision damage or corrosion, then this will have to be repaired, at the owners cost, before the rear protection bar is fitted.
