  • Fuji Heavy Industries announces record sales and profits for third consecutive year
Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd. (FHI), the manufacturer of Subaru automobiles, today announced its consolidated financial results for the year ended March 31, 2015. Subaru’s global sales rose 10.4% to 911,000 vehicles, a record high.

Overseas performance was particularly strong where sales grew 16.2% to 748,000 units, driven by continued high demand for the Forester as well as strong demand for the new generation Outback, WRX STI and Legacy models.

Subaru continues to enjoy great success in North America where sales records were broken for the sixth consecutive year. FHI has also announced that in addition to global sales, profit figures posted all-time records for the third year in succession. Net income for the company increased by 26.7% to 261.9 billion yen. Sales in Europe remained stable at 47,000 vehicles.

2016 Forecasts

FHI is also forecasting a positive year ahead. In light of further growth in North America and other overseas regions, Subaru's global sales are projected to rise 1.9% to 928,000 vehicles. Further FHI is projecting operating income and net income to both increase and that global sales and profits figures will post records for the fourth consecutive year.
