SPAIN - The country's car production hits new heights with 11,000 units per day being produced.

  • Vehicle production in Spain grew by 12.75% in the first half of the year
  • Vehicle exports are gaining ground, through June rose by 10%
The production of vehicles in Spain grows at a rate of 12.75% in the first half of the year, reaching almost 1.5 million units manufactured (1,457,703). In June vehicle production reached a volume of 263,439 units, an increase of 16.08%. This confirms that this exercise will close with a volume of at least 2.6 million units manufactured. Spain already produces more than 240,000 units per month, or what is the same 11,000 vehicles a day.



Undoubtedly, the strong export cars pull, especially in Europe, it makes this segment grow so far this year by 19.69%, with a volume of 1,173,672 units. On the opposite side we find a sharp decline in the segment of vans, light industrial and heavy industrial, which in part have been offset by rising light commercial vehicles and trucks rising. However, overall industrial vehicles falling nearly 7% in the first six months of the year.
EXPORTS
The demand for Spanish vehicles outside our borders, continues to gain ground. In the 
first six months of the year they were exported a total of 1,187,228 units, an increase of 
10.04%. The month of June, registered positive rates of 10.96% and 212,094 units exported. Eight of 
every 10 cars that are manufactured in Spain are consumed outside our borders.

The arrival of the Spanish carrier to countries such as Turkey, South Korea and Japan is allowing grow at a strong pace. Also, the good performance of the main markets europeoslemania, France, Italy and the UK have succeeded in the Spanish factories ensure greater stability in the production of vehicles so far this year.
TRADE BALANCE
Remember that in the first five months of the year, vehicle exports totaling 14.191 million of €, a growth of 15.8%. If to this figure, we add 4.695 million on exports of automotive parts and components, the automotive sector accumulated until May a total of € 18.886 million of.
Thus, in the period from January to May, vehicle manufacturers have accumulated a trade surplus of 7.227 million euros, an increase of 2.7%.
With this result, the car payment on total Spanish exports and more than 17% and exceeds the food industry as the second export sector in Spain.
