Sales of Mitsubishi passenger vehicles in the UK continue to outperform the market. According to SMMT figures released today for the calendar year through June 2015, Mitsubishi Motors (UK) sales are up 117 per cent compared to the same period last year, against an overall market increase of 7 per cent.
The company is seeing significant growth across the entire range of models, resulting from higher levels of marketing investment and a growing dealer network.
The Mitsubishi Outlander plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is the UK’s favourite plug-in. It is leading a clear purchasing preference for the operational versatility of plug-in hybrid cars, over pure battery electric cars. The Outlander PHEV offers the same zero emission performance as pure electric cars driving around town, city and suburb but in addition it has a long distance range for motorway driving.
Across the range, calendar year to date, the iconic Mitsubishi Shogun is up 27 per cent. The L200 pick-up is ahead by 32 per cent and the ASX (Active Sports Cross-over) is up by 26 per cent.
