Jaguar takes second over all and Best Executive car at the DieselCar magazine awards 2016.

  • The Jaguar XF adds ‘Best Executive Car’ Award from DieselCar magazine to an already impressive roll of honour
  • Judges praised the XF’s ‘class-leading economy and excellent refinement’
  • XF also ranked second overall in DieselCar’s newly launched Top 50, which charts the best new cars currently on sale
  • Jaguar XF range features the brand’s highly advanced 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine in outputs of 163PS and 180PS
The Jaguar XF has taken its fifth major UK industry honour is less than a year since it was launched as the British-built saloon wins ‘Best Executive Car’ from DieselCar magazine.
The award adds to the XF’s already impressive rolls of honour, which includes ‘Executive Car of the Year’ and ‘SME Best Director’s Company Car’ at Business Car’s annual awards in addition to ‘Best Executive Car’ at the Fleet World Honours while scooping Top Gear’s ‘Saloon Car of the Year’.

In addition to taking the class honours, the multi-award winning XF was also ranked second overall in the publication’s newly launched list of the Top 50 best cars currently on sale. It was one of two Jaguar models in the Top 10 with the newly introduced F-PACE in eighth position.
Ian Robertson, Editor and Publisher, DieselCar, said: “With the last generation car so accomplished, we didn't think there was much scope for improvement, however, Jaguar has come up trumps and class-leading economy and excellent refinement puts this latest British-built car at the top of the class."
Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD, said: “This award is further evidence of the XF’s key strengths in what is one of the most fiercely competitive segments in the market. It is a true all-rounder offering discerning buyers a generous mix of luxury, technology, dynamism and of course excellent cost of ownership. To win its class and be ranked second overall in the Top 50 best cars currently on sale speaks volumes for just how strong the XF is.”
The XF’s lightweight aluminium construction coupled with the all-aluminium Ingenium engine means Jaguar’s multi-award winning saloon sets the class benchmark for fuel efficiency and emissions.
Powertrains include a 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel engine in outputs of 163PS and 180PS. The 163PS 2.0-litre Ingenium diesel boasts emissions from just 104g/km and 70.6mpg on the combined cycle and drives the rear wheels through a six-speed manual gearbox. A range-topping supercharged 3.0-litre V6 diesel offers thrilling performance producing 516lb ft (700Nm) of torque.
Furthermore, Ingenium is also one of the first diesel engines to feature variable valve timing. A cam phaser on the exhaust side allows the catalysts to reach operating temperature faster, to further reduce emissions, while also enabling more efficient and robust regeneration of the particulate filter.
The XF’s class-leading efficiency also makes it one of the most cost effective premium executive saloons for fleet and business customers boasting the lowest insurance group ratings (from 25E) and the highest residual values according to industry valuation company CAP retaining 53% of its value after 3 years/30,000 miles.
