Ssangyong finalises its support for this years Silverstone Classic the second time it has been the official support brand.

SsangYong returns to the Silverstone Classic for the second time as official courtesy car partner for this year’s event (29-31 July), and will provide over 60 cars to support the 26th anniversary with a three day VIP service.

Models from across the range including the all new Tivoli, Korando crossover, Korando Sports 1 tonne pick-up, Rexton 4x4 and Turismo MPV, will support the occasion by ferrying VIPs, competitors, media and event organisers around the Silverstone circuit throughout the three day event.

Last year’s Silver Jubilee track parade on the Sunday saw hundreds of silver cars touring the Grand Prix circuit to mark the 25-year anniversary, with 15 silver SsangYong cars at the lead.
“With over 100,000 visitors last year, the Silverstone Classic is a superb opportunity to showcase our range to this highly influential and well informed audience,” said Paul Williams, CEO of SsangYong Motor UK.  “We and our dealers are delighted to be returning to support this exciting classic event at the home of the Formula 1 British Grand Prix.
“SsangYong is Korea’s oldest vehicle manufacturer, and with a history stretching back over 60 years, our heritage perfectly complements the ethos of the weekend,” he added.
"We are very pleased that SsangYong is participating again,” says Nick Wigley, Event Director.  “As one of the fastest growing brands in the UK market, it’s opportune that we can help show visitors and participants what a great range of cars this is.  The cars and their drivers delivered a fantastic service to our VIPs, competitors and guests last year.”a
