Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

the amazingly fast BAC MONO beats many hypercars to take the lap record at the Anglesey Coastal Circuit for EVO Magazine.

  • Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) recently hit the headlines when its Mono supercar set evo magazine’s fastest ever lap time at the Anglesey Coastal Circuit, and the feat is now available to watch online
  • Mono saw off the likes of McLaren’s P1 and 675LT, the Ferrari 458 Speciale and Porsche’s 918 Spyder and 911 GT3 RS to officially become the fastest road-legal car ever tested by evo
  • The bespoke British supercar also bettered times from race-specific models such as the McLaren P1 GTR and Radical RXC Turbo 500
  • Its remarkable time of 1:07.70 is one whole second faster than the slick-shod P1 GTR hypercar’s best

Briggs Automotive Company (BAC) made history earlier this month when the Mono supercar became the fastest ever road-legal car to be tested by evo magazine at the Anglesey Coastal Circuit, and you can now watch the world record lap online.
With evo’s Richard Meaden at the wheel, the bespoke British supercar set a breath-taking lap time of 1:07.70 seconds to beat the race-specific and slick-shod McLaren P1 GTR’s previous best of 1:08.70 by one whole second.

Sitting on Kumho’s Ecsta V70A road-legal performance tyres, the Mono simply surged around the 1.55-mile Coastal Circuit. As shown in the online video, the car displayed amazing balance and poise and showed off its remarkably accessible power and precision.
Putting together a strong lap at the Anglesey Coastal Circuit tests a supercar’s credentials to the max, but the Mono passed the examination with flying colours.
Expert handling, superb braking ability and a staggering power-to-weight ratio of 525bhp per tonne all contributed to the Mono’s record-breaking time, and first-time Mono driver Meaden was able to get to grips with the single-seater with consummate ease.
In the final flying lap, the Mono etched its name into the history books by going a full second faster than the £1.98 million P1 GTR hypercar’s seemingly unbeatable time and becoming the new pace benchmark.
The evo Anglesey Coastal Circuit Leaderboard is a competitive series that has seen the biggest supercar brands in the world head to Anglesey looking to top the charts.
From the McLaren 675LT to the Ferrari 458 Speciale, some of the fastest cars ever made have tried to scale evo’s Leaderboard, but BAC has toppled them all.
BAC co-founder and Director of Product Development Neill Briggs added: “We are very, very proud of the Mono’s achievement around the Anglesey Coastal Circuit and are thrilled that the world can watch history unfold online.
The Mono is known for driving as good as it looks, and that much is evident from evo’s video. When the record lap was set, it looked incredibly quick – the video reinforces just how fast it was and how great a feat this is.
To be at the top of evo’s leaderboard is an honour and we are looking forward to attacking and conquering other production car records around the world in 2017.”
Will the Mono’s time ever be beaten? Driver Meaden thinks it can be… but only by the Mono itself.
After setting the record-breaking time of 1:07.70, Meaden revealed that he thinks the Mono even has the potential to go one better and get under the 1:07 barrier.
The world record lap time first appeared in Issue 229 of evo magazine, which hit the shelves on 2 November.
