UK SALES OCTOBER - Ford remains the market leader and carries on a multiple decade rule, thats not gonna end anytime soon.

Ford commercial vehicles (CV) sales year-to-date have already exceeded 100,000 - for the first time ever in October.  This record has been reached with two sales months of the year remaining, as Ford’s UK market leadership remains unchallenged across cars, CVs and total vehicle sales.
According to the official October sales figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT):
  • Ford is the UK market leader in total vehicle, car and CV sales
  • Fiesta is the UK best-seller for October and the year to date
  • Transit Custom leads CV sales for October and year to date
  • Ford’s total vehicle sales lead over its nearest rival now exceeds 155,000
  • Ford CV sales highest for the year to date, at over 100,000
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said:  “Ford continues to build on the strength of its core models in the UK market, while stretching into new segments with models such as Mustang and the Vignale range. 

Fiesta is in its eighth year as the UK market leader, while the success of our extended Ford CV family is demonstrated by the Transit range sales exceeding those of any car – apart from Fiesta.”
The official figures released by the SMMT today show that total car sales in October were up 1.4 per cent to 180,168 units, compared with October 2015. Ford car sales were 21,411, 6,462 registrations ahead of its nearest rival.  For the year to date (end October) total UK car sales were 2,330,663, up 2.5 per cent compared with the same period in 2015.  Ford car sales for this period were 275,631, over 55,000 registrations ahead of its nearest rival.
Ford Fiesta was the number one best seller in October, notching up 7,806 registrations and over 100,000 sales year-to-date. Ford continues to lead in retail car sales, which most accurately reflect the preferences of private buyers, with a share of 12.5 per cent, 4.0 per cent ahead of its nearest rival.
UK commercial vehicle (CV) sales in October were down 4.0 per cent at 27,638, compared with October 2015.  Ford CV sales in October were down 4.6 per cent at 7,958, compared with October 2015.  For the year to date total UK CV sales were up 1.8 per cent at 325,194, compared with the same period in 2015.  Total sales of Ford CVs for the year to date were up 12.1 per cent at 109,298, compared with 2015.
The Ford Transit Custom and Ford Transit are number one and two in total CV sales year. Transit Connect, Courier, Fiesta van and Ranger, which has seen a sales increase of over 65 per cent this year, all lead their respective segments.
