Well, the end of the year has come and gone and the sales for 2016 are 60,000 higher than the previous year, however, the big brands Ford and Vauxhall are both significantly down, in fact some of the main brands have been hit with a downward trend in December, Citroen, DS, Peugeot, Toyota Mazda and more.

The sales have moved over to the premium brands, Audi, Jaguar, BMW and Mercedes, so, it seems like the cheap brands like MG have grown, and premium brands too, it is the mid range brands that have been hit, and with some of them, they have had a host of new models to gain sales, however this has not worked for some of them.

Jaguar Land Rover finish the year seriously higher, thanks in part to the XE and F-Pace for Jaguar and the Evoque and Discovery Sport for Land Rover, this year will see the new XF Sportbrake and Discovery 5 amongst its new products, the ultra high priced brands like Porsche, Aston Martin, Bentley, McLaren and Maserati have all grown, proving that money talks.

Volkswagen has ended the year up, which considering how they started the year is a minor miracle, and from other markets around the globe VW's sales have grown at long last, this, along with VW Group companies, SEAT, Skoda, Porsche, Bentley and Audi, the company finished the year with over 10.3 million car hand overs.

2017 has a host of new cars coming to market, so hopefully these will boost sales, or at the very least, end the year level, as for The Motoring World Blog, well, we have some plans, we have already tweaked the site with a new colour scheme, and there are already a large number of cars pencilled in for road tests, so we are also going from strength to strength, hopefully, BREXIT will not hurt the UK sales, after all, this is something that can be really hurt if they do not sort it out properly.

Some of the cars that we will be testing over the coming few weeks are the new MG3, Fiat 124, Citroen C3, Peugeot 3008, Subaru Impreza WRX/STi, Subaru BRZ, Subaru Outback and the Mitsubishi Shogun, so a decent range of cars, from the small hatchback to the sports car, cabriolet to the Off Roader, and each and every one i am looking forward to trying.
