US SALES SEPTEMBER - JLR - Again Jaguar drops, and is saved by huge gains at Land Rover.

  • Jaguar Land Rover U.S. September sales increase 61 percent with 6,850 units sold
  • Land Rover up 89 percent for the best Land Rover September sales month ever driven by Range Rover, Range Rover Sport and Range Rover Evoque
  • Jaguar F-TYPE has its best September sales month ever with sales up 8 percent for the month
Jaguar Land Rover North America today reported September 2015 U.S. sales. Sales for both brands hit 6,850 units, a 61 percent increase from 4,248 units in September 2014.  

Land Rover sales reached 5,855 units up 89 percent from 3,106 units in September 2014; Jaguar sales were 995 units, down 13 percent from 1,142 units in September 2014.

Year to date in 2015, Jaguar Land Rover U.S. sales hit 59,619 units, an increase of 19% over 2014.


"Land Rover's world-class products including Discovery Sport and the Range Rover nameplates continue to be a force in the marketplace, allowing us to achieve our best September sales results ever," said Joe Eberhardt, President and CEO of Jaguar Land Rover North America. 

"We are in a strong position for growth on the Jaguar side with the arrival of our highly anticipated 16 MY vehicles, starting with the all-new XF which goes on sale this Fall."

U.S. BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

Land Rover

Land Rover had its best September retail month ever with 5,855 total units sold this month.

Sales of the Discovery Sport hit 1,140 units for the month and sales of the Range Rover Evoque hit 1,319 units, up 71 percent from September 2014.

Range Rover Sport and Range Rover had their best September sales month ever with Range Rover Sport sales hitting 1,633 units, up 94 percent from 843 sales in September 2014 and Range Rover sales hitting 1,361 units, up 83 percent from 743 sales in September 2014.

Year to date in 2015, Land Rover is at an all-time U.S. high of 48, 403 sales, up 26 percent from 2014.

Land Rover's 2015 model year line-up features five models: The 240-hp turbocharged 2.0 liter Land Rover Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque; the LR4 powered by a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 engine; the Range Rover Sport and Range Rover, available with either a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 or 510-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 powertrain.

For 16 MY, Land Rover will add two special editions to the Range Rover Sport line up, the Range rover Sport HST, available in either a 3.0L Supercharged V6 380hp engine or a 5.0L Supercharged V8 510hp engine with added SVR aero package and the 550-hp Range Rover Sport SVR.

September marked the start of sales in North America for the 2016 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport featuring a new 3.0L turbocharged V6 diesel engine.

Jaguar

For Jaguar, sales hit 995 units, down 13 percent for the month. 

The volume and growth leader in September was the Jaguar F-TYPE, which had its best September retail sales month ever, and was up 8 percent with 354 units sold vs. 329 in September 2014. Sales of the Jaguar XF hit 266 units, up 3 percent from 258 in September 2014.

Year to date in 2015, Jaguar sales hit 11,216 units, down 5 percent from 2014.

The 2015 Jaguar line-up features four models: The Jaguar XJ luxury sedan, powered by a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 in rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive configuration, a 470-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 or a 550-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XJR model. 

The Jaguar XF sports sedan comes in a number of variations: 240-hp turbocharged four cylinder engine, a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 in rear-wheel or all-wheel-drive configurations, a 470-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8, a 510-hp Supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XFR and a 550-hp Supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XFR-S. 

In its final year, the XK coupe and convertible grand touring models are powered by either a 385-hp 5.0 liter V8 or a 510-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the XKR. Jaguar also offers the Jaguar XKR-S coupe and convertible with a 550-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8. 

The 16 MY Jaguar F-TYPE is newly available with options of all-wheel drive and a manual transmission. 

The new F-TYPE line-up, the F-TYPE Coupe and Convertible, are powered by either a 340-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6, a 380-hp supercharged 3.0 liter V6 in the F-TYPE S or a 550-hp supercharged 5.0 liter V8 in the F-TYPE R.

Starting with the new 2016 model year vehicles, the Jaguar brand will have an improved competitive value position via steps such as increased standard equipment or new lower MSRP choices by model. 

Also starting in model year 2016, all Jaguar models will come standard with Jaguar EliteCare, an ownership package with class-leading five-years or 60,000-mile warranty, complimentary scheduled maintenance coverage, roadside assistance and Jaguar InControl® Protect & RemoteTM2

Beginning in the spring of 2016, the Jaguar brand value story further transforms with two new entry luxury vehicles, the 2017 Jaguar XE compact luxury sedan, starting at $34,9001,  and the 2017 Jaguar F-PACE compact luxury SUV, starting at $40,9901.
