Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

WHAT CAR AWARDS - The S-Class has, again, been awarded the Luxury Car Of The Year titl, The CLS also wins.

The Mercedes-Benz S-Class has once again been named Luxury Car of the Year at the 2016 What Car? Awards.
After being announced as the winner of the ‘under £70,000’ luxury car category, the S-Class went on to win the outright Luxury Car of the Year title – marking the 10th time the S-Class has won this prestigious award.

The Mercedes -Benz CLS 350d AMG Line was also a winner, having been revealed as ‘Best Buy More Than £50,000’ in the Large Executive Car category.
The CLS 350d AMG Line was recognised for its head-turning design, high-quality interior, level of standard equipment and driveability.
Jim Holder, Editorial Director of What Car?, explained: “The S-Class is the compass by which this class navigates itself. The luxury car segment has historically been led by the Mercedes-Benz with its trail-blazing advances in comfort and safety. Likewise, the CLS stood out as there are numerous large executive cars that offer refinement, performance and high-quality interiors, but few do so while turning quite so many heads.  The CLS isn’t just pretty, though, because inside it has easily enough quality materials to justify its position in our top price point.”
On collecting the award, Gary Lee, Head of Product Management, Mercedes-Benz UK, commented: “The current S-Class continues to be the leader in its segment, and its 10th What Car? Luxury Car win confirms this fact. The S-Class is the pinnacle of the Mercedes-Benz brand, thanks to its unbeatable levels of luxury combined with ground-breaking technology. This year will see some exciting additions to the S-Class range in the UK, including the stunning S-Class Cabriolet.”
Since the launch of the Saloon in 2013, the current S-Class range has continued to grow with the introduction of the S-Class Coupé in 2014, and S-Class Cabriolet (arriving in the UK Summer 2016). The sumptuous S-Class Cabriolet is the first open-top luxury four-seater from Mercedes-Benz since 1971, and features a host of innovative safe

Jaguar XF still winning awards six years after launch.

  • Jaguar XF wins best Large Executive Car at Honestjohn.co.uk awards
  • Honestjohn.co.uk awards are the only motoring awards decided on by which model receives most interest from readers
  • XFR one of just eight cars honoured with Five-Star Accolade in Autocar road tests
The Jaguar XF has won not one but two awards this week, with nods from both Autocar and Honestjohn.co.uk.
The XFR was one of just eight cars currently on sale to win a coveted Five-Star Accolade in the famously demanding Autocar road test. While the standard XF won Large Executive Car honours at the Honestjohn.co.uk awards – for the third year in a row.

The Honestjohn.co.uk awards are unique in the motoring world in that the winners aren’t picked by a panel of judges, they’re selected by which model in each category received the most page views from readers over the previous year.
In other words, the winners are the cars that attract the most attention from the site’s visitors, of which there are 1.6 million every month.
Honestjohn.co.uk editor Dan Harrison said: "The British-built Jaguar XF competes in a tough market and is up against several of the German manufacturers, but Honestjohn.co.uk users clearly love the style and class of the Jaguar, with it coming top in the Large Executive category. We're also fans of the XF due to its luxurious interior and immense refinement, so it's no surprise to see it winning this award for the third year running.”
And, as well as proving to be a huge hit with car fans on Honestjohn.co.uk, the XF has also wowed critics with its performance – especially in XFR form.
Only a handful of cars manage to escape the Autocar road test team’s ruthless scrutiny with a full five-star rating in tact – making it one of the most sought-after plaudits in the car industry. And the XFR was one of the lucky few in 2014.
The Autocar team said: “Jaguar’s XF redefined the company’s range.  The XFR super-saloon redefined its sense of fun.”
