Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Morgan Motor Company has announced a new Limited Edition Aero 8 Race Inspired car.

  • Morgan Motor Company has announced a new “gloves off” variant of the Aero 8: the race-inspired Aero GT
  • Limited to just eight examples, the Aero GT will mark the end of Aero 8 production at Morgan’s Pickersleigh Road factory
  • Aero GT is fitted with new hand-worked body panels, including wing top louvres and a drastic rear diffuser – all reducing drag while significantly increasing downforce
  • Each of the eight cars – all already sold to existing Morgan customers – will be individually numbered and with bespoke customer-requested features
  • The Aero GT will be officially unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March, 2018
Morgan Motor Company has today announced its most extreme roadgoing model to date; the race-inspired Aero GT. Using lessons learned from Morgan’s GT3 race victories, the Aero GT is based upon the lightweight aluminium Aero 8 but with an all-new hand-worked, aerodynamically honed body which reduces drag but significantly increases downforce.
Conceived initially during the development of the 2015 Morgan Aero 8, the aggressive Aero GT variant never saw the light of day. But, in 2018, the final eight Aero 8 cars to roll out of Morgan’s Pickersleigh Road factory will be Aero GT variants.

With close consultation between head of design, Jon Wells, and Morgan’s uniquely talented metal workers who have perfected their skill over a lifetime, every panel of the bespoke Aero GT is reworked by hand with new wing top louvres, deep side impressions and a drastic rear diffuser. Contradicting the styling department’s usual approach to maintaining fluid forms, the designers embraced these new body enhancements.

All eight Aero GT models – already accounted for by existing Morgan customers – will be individually tailored to each owner. Individually numbered cars will each leave the factory with bespoke customer-requested additions, in line with Morgan’s hand-crafted approach.

Fitted with a 367bhp 4.8-litre BMW V8 and six-speed manual gearbox, also found in the Aero 8, the Aero GT sprints from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds, hitting a top speed of 170mph. With the engine no longer in production, the Aero GT is not only a last hurrah for the current Aero 8 but for the naturally aspirated BMW engine, too.
The Aero models marked a new era for Morgan when the Aero 8 was first unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2000. A bold new design and lightweight aluminium construction ushered in a new level of performance for the Morgan brand, which has reached its latest and most extreme evolution in the Aero GT.
Jon Wells, Head of Design at Morgan Motor company said: “The beauty of working so closely with talented sheet metal workers and coachbuilders is that designers are relatively unrestrained in their ability to challenge the forms and their functions.
“Unlike many, we are able to make truly special limited edition vehicles that really exercise the imagination of the designer and the ability of the craftsman.
“The Aero range has always offered Morgan the platform to explore the boundaries of mechanical and styling design and I am delighted the family has allowed one of our wildest ideas to become a reality.”
Steve Morris, Managing Director of Morgan Motor Company, said: “One of our greatest strengths as a brand is our ability to be responsive and create a hand-built car which is truly bespoke to each customer. I am a proud owner of an Aero 8 myself; it has been a stalwart of the brand and offers an exceptional driving experience, that only gets better in Aero GT guise.
“Every Morgan is built to an exacting specification and is bespoke to each customer, as their personality is displayed in every detail. A great deal of emotion is invested in every decision and this experience is only enhanced by the joy of then driving such powerful and unique vehicles. The Aero GT is the ultimate ensemble of this formula.”

NISSAN #4 - Pulsar NISMO, takes the C-Segment into new

  •  Global debut for Nissan Pulsar NISMO Concept at 2014 Paris Motor Show
  • NISMO create vision of a sporting flagship for new Pulsar range
  • Bold styling and aero-optimised body
  • Race-inspired design features inside and out
  • Tuned suspension and steering for sharper, more agile handling
Passion, excitement and race-inspired maverick engineering are three core values that underpin every NISMO product – whether it be on the track or in the showroom. Nissan’s desire to bring the NISMO philosophy to the broadest possible audience takes another step forward at the 2014 Paris Motor Show with the global unveiling of the new Pulsar NISMO Concept. Shown in public for the first time, the dramatic design study explores the styling and engineering possibilities of a sporting flagship for the Pulsar range.
Embedded with the same sporting DNA that runs throughout the brand’s NISMO product line, the Pulsar NISMO Concept brings an exciting new performance dimension to the Pulsar range. Although the concept is only a design study at this stage, Nissan is committed to developing its NISMO line-up with the ambition of delivering bold new performance models to a new generation of drivers.

The Pulsar NISMO Concept distils the essence of the brand into every panel, trim and styling element, setting itself apart from its standard grades. The Concept’s paintwork is finished in satin grey and surrounding the body is the NISMO’s trademark Layered Double-Wing accentuated in red. Its unique shape is designed by airflow analysis, and it improves aerodynamics performance even better as well as giving lower gravity appeal to the NISMO cars.
The dramatic front bumper features larger, optimised air intakes and striking brake cooling vents. Deeper side skirts, a lower ride height and 19-inch five arm alloy wheels with 235/35 R19 tyres emphasise the muscular form of the Pulsar’s design, while the diffuser-style rear bumper and the central twin exhaust pipes, further reinforce the Concept’s motorsport feel. Other elements include; a unique carbon fibre rear spoiler, side skirts and flared wheel arches. As opposed to the conventional white lamp reversing lamp, the Pulsar NISMO Concept’s light hosts a clear, dark finish.
Further design features on the Pulsar NISMO Concept is the addition of a chrome trim around the side windows painted in black as well as a carbon fibre finish and trademark NISMO red struck down the door mirrors to further amplify Nissan’s sporty C-hatch Concept.
Inside, the Pulsar NISMO Concept continues the race-inspired theme with a red coloured tachometer, deeply sculpted sports seats trimmed in Alcantara, a sporty three-spoke steering wheel and alloy pedals.
At NISMO, nothing is designed just to give a sporty appeal. Every single detail is backed by learnings from the real-world racing track, and that is the premium element that NISMO design delivers. So, even when the design looks aggressive, there lies intelligence behind the shape – progressive in its form, taking cues from latest technological learnings.
As with all NISMO models, the Pulsar NISMO Concept delivers much more than mere kerb appeal. NISMO engineers know that great performance comes from a combination of lateral thinking, intelligent engineering and a willingness to try new ideas – a combination that has paid dividends over on the race track for more than 30 years.
Under the skin, the Pulsar NISMO Concept features a revised suspension system that incorporates settings honed on the racetrack. In addition to a lower ride height, the Pulsar NISMO Concept incorporates revised spring and damper settings to provide drivers with the kind of agile and sporty responses that are synonymous with NISMO models.  Further still, steering on the Pulsar NISMO Concept has been honed and modified for an even more direct response, gaining learnings from Pulsar road car and pushing for further focus and finesse on the driver experience.
