Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Vauxhall makes a welcome return to Goodwood with their most aggressive car ever.

  • Dramatic feat of precision driving marks Vauxhall’s return to Goodwood Festival
  • ‘Vauxhall Family Experience’ area packed with activities for children and adults
  • Rare pre-war Vauxhall racers embrace ‘Flat-Out & Fearless’ show theme
  • New VIVA and Corsa VXR on show, along with ‘Dream Garage’ icons from the past
Vauxhall is making a dramatic comeback to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with a high-powered driving display by world-acclaimed expert Paul Swift that is set to wow show-goers, and will complement many of the cars and activities in its Family Experience area, based near the track.

Known as the ‘1400HP VAUXHALL VXR ROADTRAIN’, Paul and his team will be using standard Vauxhall VXR models, from the new Corsa VXR to the latest 576hp VXR8 GTS, in a piece of precision driving that’s truly ‘Flat-Out and Fearless’ (the show’s theme this year) and has never before been seen at Festival of Speed.
And for those looking for a break between track activities, Vauxhall’s Family Experience may prove to be just the ticket. Based inside the track near the entrance to Gate 1, the area will be a haven for families, and will feature radio-controlled cars, ADAM Pedal Car Raceway and Vauxhall Crazy Football.
Fitting in with the Flat-Out & Fearless theme once more, the area will host a trio of ultra-rare pre-war Vauxhalls: a 1922 TT, Vauxhall’s only Grand Prix race car; a 1930 Villiers Supercharged, with 300bhp and top speed of 150mph; and a 1910 C-10 ‘Prince Henry’, acknowledged as the first proper sports car.
Also in the Vauxhall Family Experience will be face-painting, a crèche, Colour a Car, Meriva Ball Pond and a picnic area. The Vauxhall Drivers’ Lounge makes a welcome return, too, with free refreshments for show-goers who produce their Vauxhall car or van keys.
Naturally, all Vauxhall’s new model range will be on show including the all-new VIVA, along with its 1960s forebear, and the just-launched 210hp Corsa VXR. Completing the display will be Vauxhall’s very own Dream Garage, including such game-changers as the 176mph Lotus Carlton, the Firenza HP ‘Droopsnoot’, the 2003 Lightning Concept and ‘V22 VXL’, a VXR220 that was the very first vehicle to carry the VXR badge.
