Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Help for Heroes were given a surprise by Vauxhall Motors when 2 Liverpool legends joined in with their 7-a-side match.

Help for Heroes beneficiaries were given a footballing surprise by Vauxhall Motors when two Liverpool FC legends joined in with their seven-a-side match.
Members of the Band of Brothers – a group which looks after wounded, injured and sick service personnel and veterans - were enjoying a coaching clinic by Vauxhall in conjunction with Liverpool FC at the Club’s Academy, before Legends, Ian Rush and Jason McAteer, arrived to captain each team in a seven-a-side match.

Veterans were then given a behind-the-scenes tour of Anfield and were joined by current midfielder Adam Lallana.
Cheryl Stibbs, Vauxhall Motors Sponsorship Marketing Manager said, “It has been a pleasure to use our partnership with Liverpool FC to give Help for Heroes this special experience. It was a lovely opportunity to play with some of Liverpool FC’s legends and a day that I’m sure they will remember. Help for Heroes do fantastic work and Vauxhall Motors is proud to be able to support them in every way possible.”
Veteran Jason Wilkes, who served in Kosvo, Bosnia, Iraq, Falklands and completed four tours of Northern Ireland took part in the football coaching clinic.
Jason was injured by a suicide vehicle car bomb whilst serving in Iraq in 2006. As a result of his injuries he was later diagnosed with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and medically discharged in February 2014.
He said: “As a keen Liverpool FC fan I was more than happy to change into my football boots to take part in the coaching clinic at the LFC Academy, organised by Vauxhall Motors. It was an amazing day and put a big smile on an old man’s face.”
Vauxhall, Liverpool FC’s official UK car partner, has been a proud supporter of Help for Heroes since 2010. During this time Vauxhall Motors has raised over £300,000 through fundraising efforts of staff, retailers and customers.
Vauxhall Motors continues to be a loyal supporter of Help for Heroes and has raised over £200,000 for the charity.

Vauxhall makes a welcome return to Goodwood with their most aggressive car ever.

  • Dramatic feat of precision driving marks Vauxhall’s return to Goodwood Festival
  • ‘Vauxhall Family Experience’ area packed with activities for children and adults
  • Rare pre-war Vauxhall racers embrace ‘Flat-Out & Fearless’ show theme
  • New VIVA and Corsa VXR on show, along with ‘Dream Garage’ icons from the past
Vauxhall is making a dramatic comeback to this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed with a high-powered driving display by world-acclaimed expert Paul Swift that is set to wow show-goers, and will complement many of the cars and activities in its Family Experience area, based near the track.

Known as the ‘1400HP VAUXHALL VXR ROADTRAIN’, Paul and his team will be using standard Vauxhall VXR models, from the new Corsa VXR to the latest 576hp VXR8 GTS, in a piece of precision driving that’s truly ‘Flat-Out and Fearless’ (the show’s theme this year) and has never before been seen at Festival of Speed.
And for those looking for a break between track activities, Vauxhall’s Family Experience may prove to be just the ticket. Based inside the track near the entrance to Gate 1, the area will be a haven for families, and will feature radio-controlled cars, ADAM Pedal Car Raceway and Vauxhall Crazy Football.
Fitting in with the Flat-Out & Fearless theme once more, the area will host a trio of ultra-rare pre-war Vauxhalls: a 1922 TT, Vauxhall’s only Grand Prix race car; a 1930 Villiers Supercharged, with 300bhp and top speed of 150mph; and a 1910 C-10 ‘Prince Henry’, acknowledged as the first proper sports car.
Also in the Vauxhall Family Experience will be face-painting, a crèche, Colour a Car, Meriva Ball Pond and a picnic area. The Vauxhall Drivers’ Lounge makes a welcome return, too, with free refreshments for show-goers who produce their Vauxhall car or van keys.
Naturally, all Vauxhall’s new model range will be on show including the all-new VIVA, along with its 1960s forebear, and the just-launched 210hp Corsa VXR. Completing the display will be Vauxhall’s very own Dream Garage, including such game-changers as the 176mph Lotus Carlton, the Firenza HP ‘Droopsnoot’, the 2003 Lightning Concept and ‘V22 VXL’, a VXR220 that was the very first vehicle to carry the VXR badge.

St Andrew’s First Aid is happy to accept the Dacia Duster as a Life saving vehicle across Scotland.

  • Dacia Duster loaned to first aid organisation
  • Volunteers will use the SUV at events across Scotland
  • Will support at major events across Scotland and help charity’s bid to improve children’s first aid knowledge
The Dacia Duster – the UK’s most affordable SUV – is helping to save lives and deliver first aid cover across Scotland with one of the country’s longest established charities.
St Andrew’s First Aid – which has a team of 2,000 highly trained volunteers – has been loaned the top-of-the-range model by Dacia UK to help deliver its critical services.
The rugged four-wheel drive model will help the charity to continue providing First Aid cover at major events which have typically included T in the Park, The Pedal for Scotland Charity Bike Ride, The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and most Scottish Premiership matches.

It has also been equipped with a defibrillator to help the charity’s volunteers save the lives of cardiac arrest victims.
Andrew Heiron, Dacia UK Brand Manager, said: “St Andrew’s First Aid operates throughout Scotland and so has a fairly large patch to cover, sometimes involving challenging terrains.
“The Dacia, with its high economy diesel engine and all-wheel drive capability, is going to be an invaluable asset to the whole team as it travels the length and breadth of the country covering events, training and other official business.
“We’re glad we can lend them the Dacia Duster to help with their potentially life-saving work.”
According to St Andrew’s First Aid, the average wait time for an ambulance in Scotland is about eight minutes. The first three minutes following cardiac arrest are critical and for each minute that passes, the chances of survival reduce by a further 10 per cent.
That is why, through its network of volunteers, the charity is striking up partnerships with local communities and education authorities to spread the First Aid message, particularly to young people. Its ambition is that one day, every child leaving school will do so with at least a basic knowledge of emergency first aid.
Ray Diggins, Head of Marketing and Fundraising at St Andrew’s First Aid, said as well as taking it to public events, the charity would be using the Dacia Duster to help deliver more first aid training across the country.
Diggins commented: “There are an estimated 12,000 preventable admissions to A&E departments in Scotland every year. The more trained volunteers we can get out there and the more people we can reach with our first aid message, the more we can address that and ensure that no-one suffers or dies because they needed first aid and didn’t get it.
“We operate all over the country and occasionally across challenging terrains too so the Duster is the perfect vehicle for us. Thanks go to Dacia UK for so generously supporting our charity in this way.”
The Duster is the most affordable SUV on the UK market – and has been since it came to the UK in January 2013.  The model – which starts from a ‘shockingly affordable’ £9,495 – has claimed numerous industry awards and has established an immensely loyal following, not least because of highly competitive pricing and generous specification.
Dacia, part of Renault Group, has experienced an unprecedented period of ahead-of-the-market growth over the last two years. After record-breaking sales in 2014, the ‘no nonsense’ car brand posted first quarter sales of 7,524 vehicles – up 10.3 per cent on last year and again outpacing the growing car market. As well as the Duster, Dacia’s UK range includes the Logan MCV, Sandero and the Sandero Stepway.
