USA SALES MAY - MERCEDES - The luxury German brand took a 8.2% drop in the month.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported May sales volume at 26,893 units, a decrease of 8.2% from the 29,299 vehicles sold during the same month last year. On a year-to-date basis, Mercedes-Benz retails totaled 132,966 units, down 1.0% from the previous year, which was an all-time record for MBUSA. 
Adding 3,066 units for Vans and 331 units for smart, MBUSA achieved a grand total of 30,242 vehicles for the month, down 7.1% from May of last year.
"High demand combined with short supplies on some of our most popular models (GLC, CLA and GLA) during the new model changeover created some challenges," said Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of MBUSA. 
"With 2018 models, particularly CLA and GLA, now arriving in dealer showrooms we expect to be back on track for a strong year."
Mercedes-Benz volume leaders in May included the C-Class, GLE and E-Class (including the CLS) model lines. The C-Class took the lead at 6,996, followed by the GLE sales of 4,631. The E-Class rounded out the top three with 4,068 units sold.
Mercedes-AMG high-performance models sold 2,848 units in May, with a total of 14,317 units sold year-to-date (up 53.2%).
Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 10,887 vehicles in May, a decrease of 4.0% when compared to the same month last year (11,343). On a year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 51,239 vehicles, an increase of 1.1% over 2016 (50,700).

USA SALES APRIL - MERCEDES - a rathe large decrease hits the three pointed star in the month.

Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) today reported April sales volume at 26,932 units, decreasing 7.9% from the 29,236 vehicles sold during the same month last year. On a year-to-date basis, Mercedes-Benz retails totaled 106,073 units, increasing 1.0% from the previous year, which was a record for MBUSA. Adding 2,193 units for Vans and 365 units for smart, MBUSA achieved a grand total of 29,490 vehicles for the month, down 8.7% from last year, and up 0.5% year-to-date (117,125).
"While we're outpacing last year, we saw some challenges in April due to limits on availability of some of our most popular model lines (GLC, CLA and GLA) during model changeover," said Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of MBUSA. "That said, we are looking for another record year."
Mercedes-Benz volume leaders in April included the C-Class, GLE and E-Class (including the CLS) model lines. The C-Class took the lead at 7,821, followed by the GLE sales of 4,468. The E-Class rounded out the top three with 4,059 units sold.
Mercedes-AMG high-performance models sold 3,130 units in April, with a total of 11,469 units sold year-to-date (up 48.3%).
Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 9,874 vehicles in April, a decrease of -1.8% when compared to the same month last year (10,054). On a year-to-date basis, MBCPO sold 40,352 vehicles, and increase of 2.5% over 2016 (39,357).

USA SALES MARCH - The Three pointed Star grows again in March, Smart & Commercial are down through.

Mercedes-Benz today reported record first quarter year-to-date volume at 79,141 units, up 4.5% from 2016. March sales of 29,092 increased 3.3% from the same month last year. 

Adding 2,871 units for Vans and 389 units for smart, Mercedes-Benz USA (MBUSA) achieved a grand total of 32,352 vehicles for the month, up 2.0% from a year ago. Year-to-date, MBUSA also achieved a record close of 87,635 units, up 3.9%.

"We're pleased about our record-breaking first quarter for Mercedes-Benz in 2017," said Dietmar Exler, president and CEO of MBUSA. "We look forward to strong momentum with a number of AMG product launches in the coming summer months as we celebrate AMG's 50th anniversary."
Mercedes-Benz volume leaders in March included the C-Class, GLE and E-Class (including the CLS) model lines. The C-Class took the lead at 8,021, followed by the GLE sales of 4,919. The E-Class rounded out the top three with 4,690 units sold.
Mercedes-AMG high-performance models sold 3,195 units in March, with a total of 8,339 units sold year-to-date (up 44.6%).
Separately, Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) models recorded sales of 9,907 vehicles in March, an increase of 5.6% when compared to the same month last year (9,390).
