END OF YEAR WORLDWIDE - LAMBORGHINI - the sports car brand sets another record for sales.

  • Lamborghini increases worldwide sales by 7% from 3,245 to 3,457 deliveries
  • Lamborghini sales grow for sixth consecutive year
  • USA confirms its position as largest single market
  • Historic sales record for the V10 model Huracán
  • Record sales performance across all major regions: EMEA, America and Asia Pacific
In Fiscal Year 2016 (1 Jan - 31 Dec), Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. set another historic sales record. With 3,457 cars delivered to customers around the world, the Italian super sports car producer surpassed the 3,400 units mark for the first time. This marks a new milestone not only for sales, but also for brand and product.
“In 2016 Lamborghini has proven to be in excellent shape. The company delivered another record year in terms of sales and continued to outperform key business objectives.* This new all-time high is once more confirming the substance and sustainability of our brand, product and commercial strategy.
This is a real team achievement and it is all the more remarkable as we are at the same time preparing not only for new models in our super sports car range, but for a company-wide quantum leap in our product portfolio – the third model line,” says Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A.
With 135 dealers serving 50 countries, worldwide deliveries to customers increased from 3,245 to 3,457 units in 2016. This represents a sales growth of 7% compared to the previous year. With a continuous sales growth in the last six years it also represents more than 2.6 times the sales of the year 2010.
Lamborghini is a global brand and sales distribution is well-balanced among the three regions, which each account for approximately one third of global sales. All major regions EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), America and Asia Pacific set new records and contributed to the sales growth.
With 1,041 units the USA remains the largest single market, followed by Japan, UK, Germany, Canada, the Middle East and China.
Thanks to the Huracán model the year 2016 has been the most successful yet in Lamborghini’s history for V10 sales. A total of 2,353 units (up from 2,242 in 2015) of the Huracán Coupé and Spyder have been delivered to customers.
The twelve-cylinder model Aventador increased from 1,003 units in 2015 to 1,104 units in 2016 and underlined its success with the 6,000th unit produced in December 2016.
New Models 2016

Following the unveiling of the Lamborghini Centenario Coupé at the Geneva Motor Show 2016, Lamborghini presented the open version of the one-off series – the Centenario Roadster – in August 2016 at the Monterey Car Week. Only 20 units each of the coupe and roadster models are being built, for delivery from 2017. The car celebrates the centenary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini’s birth.
Another model making its first appearance at the start of 2016 was the special series Huracán Avio, available in a limited edition of 250 vehicles and delivered from summer 2016.
In June 2016 Lamborghini presented the Aventador Miura Homage. To mark the 50th anniversary of the Miura – the forerunner of all Lamborghini V12 super sports cars – 50 units of this special series Aventador Coupé are being built.
In November 2016 at the Los Angeles Auto Show the Lamborghini Huracán Rear Wheel Drive Spyder was launched to the market.
In December 2016 the new Lamborghini Aventador S was announced. It is characterized by new aerodynamic design, redeveloped suspension including the new four-wheel steering system, increased power (now 740 hp) and new driving dynamics. The ‘S’ is the suffix of previous enhanced Lamborghini models and defines a new benchmark for the V12 Lamborghini.
Lamborghini Motorsport 2016
Lamborghini Squadra Corse, the motorsport department, also marked new highs in participants and competition success.
The Lamborghini Super Trofeo one-make series in three continents (Europe, Asia and America) produced grids of more than 80 Huracán Super Trofeos on average, and 150 more drivers worldwide than 2015. For the beginning of 2017 a new Middle East series is planned in Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
The Lamborghini GT3 series attracted more than 40 cars from customer teams racing worldwide.

Lamborghini teams won 18 overall races with 22 pole positions and a total of 52 podium finishes. In both the GT Asia Series and International GT Open 2016 Lamborghini teams won the championship.

Third model in 2018 – Lamborghini prepares for a new era
Starting in 2018, the Lamborghini SUV Urus will be the third model in Lamborghini’s product range.

Delivering additional growth and significant opportunities across the marque, it will also determine a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory. The new facilities in Sant’Agata Bolognese will be completed within 2017.

Lamborghini Miura 50th anniversary
The year 2016 featured the celebrations of the Miura’s 50th anniversary. With its heritage department Lamborghini PoloStorico, the company illustrated its scope of expertise in restoring and certifying several classic Lamborghini models.
Events scheduled throughout the year included top international Concours d’Elegance (such as Goodwood Festival of Speed, Salon Privè, Villa d’Este, Pebble Beach, Amlia Island and Swiss Concourse d’Elegance) and an Italian tour held in June with 20 Miuras coming from all over the world to take part.

Lamborghini launches the Ad Personam Studio at its historic Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters.

Lamborghini launches the Ad Personam Studio at its historic Sant’Agata Bolognese headquarters: an area dedicated entirely to the company's customization program, which enables each customer to create his or her very own, Lamborghini.
The Ad Personam Studio is located in the heart of the company's production facility, and its concept and furnishings inspired by creative spaces and design studios.
It is designed to offer Lamborghini customers the unique experience of being aided by an Ad Personam specialist at every step of the process, in order to select colors, interior trim and the materials of their future super sports car.

Before specifying their car, the prospective owner visits the factory on a guided tour, so he or she can view possible configurations on actual Huracán and Aventador models.
Next, the customer is hosted in the sophisticated yet minimal atmosphere of the Ad Personam Studio, which includes displays of leathers, colors, materials, seats and rims, and includes an advanced car configurator for digital simulation of possible options.
The lounge area is also used for displaying the particular Lamborghini model ordered by the customer.
The Ad Personam program is available for both Huracán and Aventador. As one of the company's strategic offerings, the program not only ensures the best possible customer experience, but also enhances the product and brand in a broader sense.
Ad Personam began in 2006 and was expanded in 2013 with the creation of a dedicated team consisting of representatives from the company's principal departments.
The goal of the Ad Personam group of specialists is to provide a tailored consulting service that aids each customer in choosing colors, materials, trim and accessories, which meet the stylistic criteria of the Lamborghini marque and are consistent with its stringent quality and safety standards.
Since 2013, more than 50 new Ad Personam exterior colors have been developed, and the option of applying two-tone paint and livery has been introduced. The number of possible combinations of colors and materials for the interior has also been increased.
New materials have even been added, such as different types of Alcantara to enhance sporty components of the car interior and new fine leathers like the semi-aniline leather to enhance the luxurious feeling of the interior.
One of the most high-tech and in-demand Ad Personam materials is Forged Composite, an innovative carbon fiber material patented by Lamborghini and offered on both the roof and the interior and exterior details of the Aventador.
In the first half of 2016 more than 50% of Lamborghini super sports cars delivered were customized with the Ad Personam option - a percentage that has tripled over the past three years. The Aventador is undoubtedly the most customized model: the privilege of a clientele that is more sensitive to the exclusiveness and uniqueness of their purchase.

New Models in 2016
The first half of 2016 was characterized by the market introduction of several new models. In January 2016 the Huracán Spyder had its global dynamic launch in Miami and at the Geneva Motorshow in March the one-off Lamborghini Centenario was presented as an homage to the centenary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini's birth. Only 20 coupé and 20 roadster versions of the Centenario will be produced and all 40 cars are already sold.
Alongside the Lamborghini Centenario, the Lamborghini Huracán Avio made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Produced in a run of only 250, this special edition's name, colors and materials pay tribute to the world of aviation and aeronautics.
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June the Aventador Miura Homage made its world premiere, a limited edition of 50 units produced to celebrate the Miura's 50th anniversary.
PoloStorico
The Miura's 50th anniversary was also highlighted by Lamborghini's classic department PoloStorico, officially opened in spring 2015 and supporting historic models and Lamborghini's heritage.
A Miura SV restored by PoloStorico was presented on various occasions, winning several awards such as the Trofeo BMW Group Italia award at Concorso di Eleganza Villa D'Este and announced as overall winner of the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d'Elegance at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016.
New Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese
In June 2016 Automobili Lamborghini inaugurated the new Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The museum's layout and displays have been completely renovated, providing a new visitor experience including multimedia displays and activities.
The inauguration was held to coincide with the first stage of the Miura Tour, the owners' rally celebrating the iconic super sports car's 50th anniversary, with a journey of over 500 km through the Italian regions of Emilia, Liguria and Tuscany.
Third Model in 2018 - Lamborghini prepares for a new era
Automobili Lamborghini prepares for the market introduction of its third model, the super sports SUV Urus, in production from 2018 onwards. Delivering additional growth and significant opportunities across the marque, it will also determine a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory. Over the lifecycle of the new vehicle Lamborghini will invest hundreds of millions of Euros and hire many new employees. A construction program to enlarge the factory started in 2016.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse 2016 - Commitment to Motorsports
In 2016, the Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo demonstrates its performance on international racetracks in all three of the brand's one-make series - the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in Europe, Asia and North America. Automobili Lamborghini presents the Aventador Miura Homage, a special edition of the current Aventador coupe

Automobili Lamborghini presents the Aventador Miura Homage, a special edition of the current Aventador coupe that pays tribute to the Miura, the forerunner of all V12 Lamborghini super sports cars in its 50th anniversary year. Just 50 units of the car will be produced, the majority of which have already been sold, available in selected markets worldwide.

Created by Lamborghini’s Ad Personam studio, the Aventador Miura Homage reflects the colors and specifications of original Miura models. The upper body in one color is complemented by the lower body and sill in a contrasting tone.
The original Miura was produced in a plethora of color and trims, often to the particular specification of a client, with six of the most iconic solid and metallic colorways selected for the Aventador Miura Homage including Rosso Arancio Miura (solid color); Verde Scandal (solid); and Blu Tahiti (metallic).
The Aventador exterior’s homage to the Miura continues with 20”/21” Dione rims in either matt silver or gold. A metallic Miura badge on the side and black Lamborghini logo on the rear, together with a limited edition plate positioned inside the car clearly denominates the Aventador Miura Homage.
Two internal color options are offered, in full Nero Ade or Terra Emilia leather with tone-on-tone stitching and carbon fiber package as standard. The Miura 50th logo is stitched into the upper part of the seats in gold or silver to reflect the car’s livery, and the ‘Lamborghini’ lettering embroidered on the leather dashboard.
The Aventador Miura Homage’s V12, 6.5 l engine produces 700 hp at 8,250 rpm and maximum torque of 690 Nm at 5,500 rpm. Accelerating from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in just 2.9 seconds, the Aventador Miura Homage has a top speed of 350 Km/h (217 mph).
The Aventador Miura Homage will be shown as part of Automobili Lamborghini’s celebrations for the Miura’s 50th anniversary at events during 2016, and the first time at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK from 23 to 26 June.
