This increase is reflected also in the positive operating result, confirming the solidity of the growth path. In preparation for the market launch of the third model line, the Super SUV Urus, in 2018 Lamborghini continues its strategic investments. The total headcount increased from 1,298 to 1,415 during 2016.

Stefano Domenicali, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini comments: “Lamborghini realized another record year and we are once more outperforming our planned figures. In the face of the biggest expansion in our company’s long history, in the build-up of our product portfolio, our development and production capacities, we are introducing fascinating new products, creating new jobs and increasing our profitability.

All of this could not have been done without our excellent team that deserves all the credit.”

All major sales regions EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), America and Asia Pacific set new records and contributed to the sales growth. The USA remain the largest single market with 1,250 units sold.

Thanks to the Huracán model the year 2016 has been the most successful yet in Lamborghini’s history for V10 sales. A total of 2,353 units (up from 2,242 in 2015) of the Huracán Coupé and Spyder were delivered to customers. The twelve-cylinder model Aventador increased from 1,003 units in 2015 to 1,104 units in 2016.

In 2016, five new models were launched. The Centenario Coupé and the Centenario Roadster were presented as a limited series in memory of the anniversary of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini.

Other special series included the Huracán Avio and the Aventador Miura Homage, which was conceived in celebration of the fiftieth anniversary of the Miura, the ancestor of all Lamborghini V12 super sports cars.

The new Lamborghini Huracán Rear Wheel Drive Spyder was launched to the market at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. At the end of 2016 the new Aventador S was presented.

Positive and convincing outlook while preparing for a new era
After a long upturn and extensive strategic preparation for further growth Lamborghini maintains a confident outlook for the current year. Starting from 2018, the Lamborghini SUV Urus will be the third model in Lamborghini’s product range.

Delivering additional growth and significant opportunities across the marque, it will also determine a substantial increase in the production capacity of the Sant’ Agata Bolognese factory.

The production facilities will increase from 80,000 to 150,000 m2 and the production capacity will double to 7,000 units per year.

WORLDWIDE SALES - Lamborghini breaks records on it's way to delivering more cars than ever before.

In the first six months of the 2016 fiscal year, Automobili Lamborghini set a new sales record in its history. With 2,013 cars delivered to customers the company surpassed the 2,000 unit mark for the first time in a half year period. Furthermore, June 2016 has been a record month in the company's history with 416 units delivered to customers worldwide.

"Thanks to the enlargement of the Huracán family, including introduction of the Spyder and rear-wheel drive version in markets worldwide in spring this year, we were able to deliver an exceptional sales performance in the first six months of 2016," said Stefano Domenicali, Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. "With a solid order bank, not only for the Huracán, but also for our V12 model the Aventador, we aim to outperform the last year's sales record yet again."
Lamborghini is a global brand and sales distribution is well-balanced among the three regions: EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa), America and Asia Pacific, which each account for approximately one third of global sales.
With 135 dealers serving 50 countries, worldwide deliveries to customers increased from 1,882 units in the first half of 2015 to 2,013 units in the first half of 2016. This marks an increase of 7%. The largest markets are the USA, Japan, UK, Greater China and Germany.
Thanks to the 1,370 units delivered of the V10 Huracán model, the first half of 2016 has been the most successful semester yet in Lamborghini's history for V10 sales. Sales figures of the Huracán in the first 24 months after market introduction were up by 87% compared to its predecessor, the Gallardo, in the same period after market launch.
Deliveries to customers of the twelve-cylinder Aventador totaled 643 units. The success story of the Aventador is reflected also in sales figures for the first 58 months after market introduction, which were up by 127% compared to its predecessor, the Murciélago, in the same period after market launch.
New Models in 2016
The first half of 2016 was characterized by the market introduction of several new models. In January 2016 the Huracán Spyder had its global dynamic launch in Miami and at the Geneva Motorshow in March the one-off Lamborghini Centenario was presented as an homage to the centenary of founder Ferruccio Lamborghini's birth. Only 20 coupé and 20 roadster versions of the Centenario will be produced and all 40 cars are already sold.
Alongside the Lamborghini Centenario, the Lamborghini Huracán Avio made its debut at the Geneva Motor Show. Produced in a run of only 250, this special edition's name, colors and materials pay tribute to the world of aviation and aeronautics.
At the Goodwood Festival of Speed in June the Aventador Miura Homage made its world premiere, a limited edition of 50 units produced to celebrate the Miura's 50th anniversary.
PoloStorico
The Miura's 50th anniversary was also highlighted by Lamborghini's classic department PoloStorico, officially opened in spring 2015 and supporting historic models and Lamborghini's heritage.
A Miura SV restored by PoloStorico was presented on various occasions, winning several awards such as the Trofeo BMW Group Italia award at Concorso di Eleganza Villa D'Este and announced as overall winner of the Cartier Style et Luxe Concours d'Elegance at Goodwood Festival of Speed 2016.
New Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese
In June 2016 Automobili Lamborghini inaugurated the new Lamborghini Museum in Sant'Agata Bolognese. The museum's layout and displays have been completely renovated, providing a new visitor experience including multimedia displays and activities.
The inauguration was held to coincide with the first stage of the Miura Tour, the owners' rally celebrating the iconic super sports car's 50th anniversary, with a journey of over 500 km through the Italian regions of Emilia, Liguria and Tuscany.
Third Model in 2018 - Lamborghini prepares for a new era
Automobili Lamborghini prepares for the market introduction of its third model, the super sports SUV Urus, in production from 2018 onwards. Delivering additional growth and significant opportunities across the marque, it will also determine a substantial increase in the production capacity of the factory. Over the lifecycle of the new vehicle Lamborghini will invest hundreds of millions of Euros and hire many new employees. A construction program to enlarge the factory started in 2016.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse 2016 - Commitment to Motorsports
In 2016, the Huracán LP 620-2 Super Trofeo demonstrates its performance on international racetracks in all three of the brand's one-make series - the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo in Europe, Asia and North America. With almost 100 cars on the grid worldwide, a new record has also been achieved in the Super Trofeo Series.
Lamborghini Squadra Corse has extended its GT3 program worldwide for the first time ever: more than 40 Huracán GT3 of 20 different customer teams are involved in 13 GT Championships and almost 80 race weekends all over the world.

Lamborghini boosts sales, profits and turnover in the last year, and this will grow with the addition of URUS

  • Global sales exceed 3,000 units for the first time and increase by 28% to 3,245 super sports cars
  • Turnover increases by 39% to 872 million euro
  • Positive yield with continued profitable growth
  • Introduction of five new models to the market
  • Decision to produce new third model series brings with it double the production space and creation of new jobs by 2018
  • Very positive outlook for 2016
Over the course of the past fiscal year 2015 (31.12.2015) Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A. achieved historic highs in the main corporate figures. Global sales of Lamborghini super sports cars increased by 28% from 2,530 to 3,245 units.

This growth represents not only an increase in volumes compared to the previous year, but a considerable gain. In fact, the company exceeded its previous threshold of more than 3,000 units sold worldwide.

Turnover increased exponentially from 629 to 872 million euros. This represents an increase of 39%, due to strong sales growth generally and a substantial contribution to total sales worldwide from high-value V12 Lamborghini Aventador derivatives.
Lamborghini is earning profits and continues on a sustained growth path. All new projects are financed out of the cash-flow.
"In 2015 we achieved business growth for the fifth year in a row and historic highs with key figures. We have also made wide-reaching strategic decisions that will facilitate the company's mid and long-term success in global luxury automobile markets," says Lamborghini President and CEO, Stephan Winkelmann.
The Huracán LP 610-4 made 2015 the most successful year in history for deliveries of V10-engined Lamborghini models. In its first full year on the market, a total of 2,242 Huracán units were delivered to customers. In the first 18 months following its market introduction, Huracán deliveries were 70% higher than those of its predecessor, the Gallardo, in the same period after market introduction.
Deliveries of coupé and roadster versions of the twelve-cylinder Aventador LP 700-4, as well as the new Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, amounted to a total of 1,003 units. The Aventador's success story was also demonstrated by delivery numbers in the 52 months following market introduction, with an increase of 124% over sales of its Murciélago predecessor within the same time period.
Sales volumes were distributed equally across Lamborghini's three sales regions: Europe (including the Middle East), North America, and Asia. North America and Greater China are the biggest markets, followed by Japan, the UK, the Middle East, and Germany. For the year 2015 almost all markets recorded growth.
Lamborghini's commercial success continues to be supported by consistent high investments in areas including technical innovation, the expansion of existing facilities, and construction of new production facilities at the Sant'Agata Bolognese headquarters.
Five new models were introduced in 2015 alone. Affirming this positive model strategy was the decision made in 2015 to produce a new third model series. By the time sales commence in 2018, production space will have nearly doubled from 80,000 m2 to 150,000 m2 and several hundred new jobs created for the development and production of a new luxury SUV, the Lamborghini Urus.
For many years Lamborghini has been firmly focused on a path of continual corporate development. Interrupted for a few years by the financial crisis, sales have increased considerably over the long term and have almost tripled since 2010. Over the past ten years sales have more than doubled and turnover more than tripled. The number of dealers has more thanThis growth is due to factors including ongoing efforts to tap into new markets and business areas, as well as the ongoing renewal and considerable expansion of the entire model range; the introduction of innovative technologies and materials; and consistent brand investments. One example of this is the international race series, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, which takes place on the major F1 racetracks of Europe, the United States and Asia.
Stephan Winkelmann sums up: "With a highly attractive and young model range, consistent growth, a strong financial situation, high profitability and the strong appeal of our brand, 2016 sees us in a better situation than ever before. This success is a reason to celebrate, but even more it represents a responsibility to qualitatively continue this growth. On all levels, Lamborghini is in a strong position to face the future."
