Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

The international Car Design Award jury has Awarded the Coveted Brand Design language Too.....

The international Car Design Award jury has recognised Volvo Cars’ contributions to automotive design with the Swedish carmaker winning the coveted Brand Design Language Award 2016.
“We are proud to receive this recognition for the design work we have done in the last years.

When we started work on the XC90 we knew that we had an opportunity to take the Volvo Cars brand in a new direction,” said Thomas Ingenlath, Senior Vice President, Design, Volvo Car Group upon receiving the award at a ceremony in Turin, Italy.
The new XC90, which redefined peoples’ perception of what the Swedish brand stands for, and its potential, was just the first step on the design journey led by Thomas Ingenlath, followed more recently with the launch of the new S90 premium sedan and V90 estate.
“The Volvo family contains many different characters – the strong and refined types, the elegant and sophisticated, the dynamic and the youthful. What we have done with the brand design at Volvo is to provide room for each of these characters, these expressions, to shine through while still paying homage to our tremendous heritage,” added Thomas Ingenlath. “Each car we design is unmistakably a Volvo, but it also has a unique personality.”
The jury for the Car Design Awards consists of editors and representatives of renowned automotive and design magazines from around the world. Volvo Cars came out as winner in the Brand Design Language category, fending off competition from Mercedes-Benz, Jaguar, Renault and Kia.
2016 marks the rebirth of the Car Design Awards, for many years the most coveted awards in car design. The awards, which cover three categories – Production Car, Concept Car and Brand Design Language.

Mitsubishi starts the year with more concepts, hopefully leading to more new cars.

-ADVENTURE SPIRIT-
BORN - A busy 2015 in Europe saw the introduction of two new and very important vehicles - the Mitsubishi L200 Series 5 and the all-new Outlander PHEV. Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) also returned to motor sports with the Outlander PHEV at the Baja Portalegre 500.

During 2016, MMC will continue to focus its attention on the adventurous spirit of its SUV range with the unveiling of a number of evocative displays at this year’s Geneva Motorshow.
The eX Concept
Unveiled at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show, the acclaimed eX Concept hints at a future Mitsubishi Motors compact SUV where a sharp “shooting brake” bodystyle dresses up a new generation of high efficiency, electric drivetrain, fit for a real-life 400 km driving range.
The L200 and ASX
Aiming at “urban adventurers”, these two all-new show cars[1], based on new L200 and 2017 ASX, blend traditional Mitsubishi Motors SUV credentials with striking designers’ outfit with their unique mid-grey livery, bright orange accents and black alloy wheels.

Infiniti to WOW the crowds at Goodwood with never seen before concepts and a look at all future designs !

Infiniti’s design studio is temporarily moving to Sussex for this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed (26-29 June), offering visitors to the popular event an exclusive glimpse of its future line-up.

Infiniti designers’ latest concept models – two of them never seen in the UK before and all of them previewing cars confirmed to enter production – will take centre stage on the Infiniti display.

It will be the first time that the trio of award-winning concepts are being displayed together, providing a unique preview of new key models in the fast-expanding Infiniti range and a close-up look at the brand’s new design direction. Fittingly the display is entitled: ‘Infiniti Shapes The Future’.

“Design is at the heart of everything Infiniti does and our concept models are famous for their boldness and seductive appeal,” said Francois Goupil De Bouille VP for EMEA. The opportunity to show our three newest concepts all together for the first time to such an influential audience is an opportunity not to be missed.”

Q60 Concept previews an elegant new sporting 2+2 coupe. Q80 Inspiration, being shown at Goodwood in a special display version of the concept, shows Infiniti’s future design language in the form of a super-luxury four-door fastback.

And the QX30 Concept offers a foretaste of how its production version will look when it comes out of the Sunderland production plant next year. The concept, a bold new active crossover with the sleek appeal of a coupe is designed for a new generation of individualistic premium customers.

It was highly acclaimed at its debut at the Geneva Motor Show this year and will be making its UK debut at Goodwood. The QX30 active crossover will be launched shortly after Infiniti’s first ever entry into the compact segment, the Q30 active compact, which will also be built at the Sunderland plant and go on sale in Europe at the end of this year.

Infiniti’s Festival of Speed stand, located near the Supercar Paddock at ‘the world’s largest motoring garden party’, will also showcase Infiniti designers’ racing dreams with a scale model of the Infiniti GT Vision Gran Turismo, a ‘virtual’ racer designed for the Gran Turismo®6 (GT6™) game.

It’s not just for looking at either – visitors will be invited to take the controls themselves for a run up the Goodwood hill on one of the PlayStation™ pods freely available, with prizes for fastest times.
And if visitors prefer the real thing, the brand’s motor racing reality will take pride of place on the stand in the form of an Infiniti Red Bull Racing Formula 1 car.

Infiniti, currently seeing record sales increases in the UK, will be welcoming visitors to the ‘Infiniti Shapes The Future’ stand on each of the four days of the Festival of Speed.
