USA RECALL - Ford issues THREE recalls, under the Transit, Lincoln and F-650/F-750 models, details within.

Ford Motor Company is issuing three safety recalls in North America. Details are as follows:

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015-2016 Ford Transit vehicles in North America to inspect and adjust side-curtain airbags

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 38,000 2015-2016 low-roof Ford Transit vehicles to inspect and adjust side-curtain airbags as needed. In some vehicles, it is possible the side-curtain airbags are positioned incorrectly on either or both sides of the vehicle, which may influence side-curtain airbag performance and increase the risk of injury in a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 low-roof Ford Transit vehicles built at Kansas City Assembly Plant, March 12, 2014 through March 18, 2016. There are 37,905 vehicles affected, including 37,066 in the United States and federalized territories and 839 in Canada.

Dealers will inspect and adjust the side-curtain airbags to the correct position as needed at no cost to the customer.

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to replace engine block heaters

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 5,500 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles to remove the heaters and replace them with an updated design. The engine block design, coupled with the particular block heater installed in these vehicles, causes the unit to be susceptible to overheating when the vehicle is parked and the block heater is plugged in –increasing the risk of an underhood fire.

Ford is aware of two reports of underhood fires in Canada, but is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC vehicles built at Louisville Assembly Plant, Nov. 25, 2013 through Jan. 25, 2016 and certain 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles built at Chicago Assembly Plant, Oct. 20, 2014 through Jan. 28, 2016. There are 5,536 vehicles affected by the issue, including 3,129 2015-2016 Lincoln MKC and 2,407 2016 Ford Explorer vehicles, with 1,543 of the affected vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and 3,993 in Canada.

Dealers will remove and replace the engine block heater with an updated design and, if needed, replace the cord at no cost to the customer.

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015-2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles to replace parking brake cable connector clips

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 4,800 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles to replace the parking brake cable connector clips. In some vehicles, the parking brake connector clips were not manufactured to the correct specifications and could break – resulting in unintended movement of the vehicle and increased risk of injury.

Ford is not aware of any accidents, injuries or fires related to this condition.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015-2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles built at Escobedo Assembly Plant, Jan. 28, 2015 through April 23, 2015, and Ohio Assembly Plant, Jan. 31, 2015 through Nov. 30, 2015. There are 4,764 vehicles affected, including 4,654 in the United States and federalized territories and 110 in Canada.

Dealers will replace the connector clip at no cost to the customer.

USA RECALL - FORD/MERCURY - The two brands recall over 310,000 units for various issues.

Ford Motor Company is issuing three safety recalls and one safety compliance recall in North America. Details are as follows:

Ford Motor Company issues safety recall for certain 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles to replace lighting control module

Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety recall for approximately 313,000 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles to replace a lighting control module. The solder joints on the module could crack and interrupt power to the headlamps – increasing the risk of crash at night.

Ford is aware of 11 reports of accidents and one report of a minor injury related to this issue.

Affected vehicles include certain 2003-2005 Ford Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis vehicles built at St. Thomas Assembly Plant, Oct. 3, 2001 through Aug. 2, 2005.

There are a total of 312,814 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 296,004 in the United States and federalized territories, 14,714 in Canada and 2,096 in Mexico.

Dealers will replace the lighting control module at no cost to the customer.

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles to replace rear air brake chamber

Ford is issuing a safety recall for 177 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles to replace the rear air brake chamber. The air brake jounce hoses could contact the vehicle’s rear axle housing during vehicle operation, which could cause a leak and inadvertent application of the parking brake or diminished braking performance – increasing the risk of a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Affected vehicles include certain 2016 Ford F-650 and F-750 vehicles built at Ohio Assembly Plant, June 18, 2015 through Nov. 15, 2015.

There are a total of 177 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 167 in the United States and federalized territories, and 10 in Canada.

Dealers will install a rear brake air chamber replacement at no cost to the customer. Dealers also will inspect the vehicle brakes and parking brake air lines for damage, and replace them as needed.

Ford issues safety recall for certain 2015 Ford Transit dual-rear-wheel vehicles to replace rear axle shafts

Ford is issuing a safety recall for approximately 1,300 2015 Ford Transit dual-rear-wheel vehicles to replace rear axle shafts. The rear axle shafts could fracture, either causing a loss of motive power without warning while driving, or unintended vehicle movement when the vehicle is in park without the parking brake engaged – increasing the risk of injury or crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Ford Transit dual-rear-wheel vehicles built at Kansas City Assembly Plant, May 1, 2015 through June 26, 2015.

There are a total of 1,265 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 1,170 in the United States and federalized territories, and 95 in Canada.

Dealers will replace both rear axle shafts at no cost to the customer.

Ford issues safety compliance recall for certain 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew vehicles to replace front safety belt retractor and pretensioner assembly

Ford is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 3,200 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew vehicles to replace the front safety belt retractor and pretensioner assembly. The safety belt assembly could have improperly secured pretensioner cables, and might not adequately restrain an occupant in a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this issue.

Affected vehicles include certain 2015 Ford F-150 SuperCrew vehicles built at Dearborn Assembly Plant, Jan. 22, 2015 through March 17, 2015.

There are a total of 3,218 vehicles that might be affected in North America, including 2,590 in the United States and federalized territories, 555 in Canada and 73 in Mexico.

Dealers will remove and replace the front driver and/or passenger safety belt retractor and pretensioner assembly at no cost to the customer.

USA RECALL - FORD - The Blue Oval recalls over 26,000 F-650 & F-750 trucks for possible seatbeat issues.

Ford Motor Company is issuing a safety compliance recall for approximately 26,400 2011-2013 and 2015 model year F-650 and F-750 vehicles in North America for a safety compliance issue with FMVSS 210 regarding seat belt anchorage. 

In these vehicles, the front passenger and center seat belts might not be anchored in the correct position relative to the seat, increasing the risk of injury in a crash.

Ford is not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with this issue. Affected vehicles include certain F-650 and F-750 vehicles built at Escobedo Assembly Plant Feb. 14, 2011 through April 28, 2015.

There are 25,941 vehicles in the United States and federalized territories and 417 in Canada.

Due to the significant number of cab and seat configurations for these vehicles, service procedures are still being developed in an effort to provide a service fix as quickly as possible.
