Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

2017 Concours of Elegance will be held at the Royal Hampton Court.

  • Hampton Court Palace will be the exceptional setting for the 2017 Concours of Elegance
  • Taking place from 1-3 September 2017, the Concours of Elegance will bring together the rarest cars from all corners of the world
  • A Concours of 60 cars has been a trademark of the event since 2012, in honour of Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations that saw the Concours of Elegance established
  • Hundreds more cars will support the event, with special features from partner manufacturers, collectors and clubs from all over the world
In 2017, the Concours of Elegance returns to the exceptional grounds of Hampton Court Palace. Henry VIII’s legendary riverside retreat, this Historic Royal Palace in Greater London last hosted the Concours of Elegance in 2014.
From Friday the 1st of September through to Sunday the 3rd of September, sixty of the rarest cars in the world will gather in the incredible Fountain Garden for the latest Concours of Elegance.
Full details of the exceptional cars set for Hampton Court Palace will be announced in the coming months.

The Concours of Elegance remains unique in the UK as the only automotive event to be held at a royal venue each year, with 2017 marking the show’s sixth year of spectacular automotive gatherings in some of the world’s most iconic locations, including St James’s Palace, the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Windsor Castle and, of course, Hampton Court Palace.
His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent is the Concours of Elegance’s Patron, and serves as Chief Judge in the highly sought after Royal Automobile Club   Club Trophy
Bringing together the ‘best of the best’ of the UK’s car club scene, the Club Trophy winner is granted automatic entry in to the following year’s Concours of Elegance selection of 60 cars. The 2016 winner, a 1923 Aston Martin Clover Leaf, will be entered into the main concours at Hampton Court Palace.
In addition to its unique royal palace location, the annual Concours of Elegance differs in other ways from a traditional concours, whereby the judging is conducted entirely and exclusively by the owners of the vehicles entered, not by a formal judging panel.  The Concours of Elegance organisers maintain that if a car has been invited to participate, it is already a winner, with each vehicle owner given one vote for another car in the Concours that they consider the most elegant.  The car with the most votes receives the stunning Concours of Elegance Pullman Trophy and is named ‘Best in Show’.
As with every Concours of Elegance event to date, the 2017 running is focused on raising significant sums of money for charity. Last year’s event at Windsor Castle raised in excess of £250,000, and the total raised since the Concours began in 2012 has now surpassed £1million.

The Concours of Elegance remains unique in the UK as the only automotive event to be held at a Royal venue each year, with 2016 marking the show’s fifth year of spectacular automotive gatherings in some of the world’s most iconic locations, including St James’s Palace, Hampton Court Palace, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and next year’s return to Windsor Castle.

His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent is the Concours of Elegance’s Patron, and serves as Chief Judge in the highly sought after Royal Automobile Club   Club Trophy, which brings together the ‘best of the best’ of the UK’s car club scene, with the Trophy winner granted automatic entry in to the following year’s Concours of Elegance selection of 60 cars.

In addition to its unique Royal Palace location, the annual Concours of Elegance differs in other ways from a traditional concours, whereby the judging for the concours is done entirely and exclusively by the owners of the vehicles entered, not by a formal judging panel.

Autoglym returns to the Concours of Elegance at Holyroodhouse Palace as this years car care supplier.

This September the world’s leading car care experts, Autoglym, will partner with the Concours of Elegance for the fourth successive year, ensuring the unique gathering of rare and exotic cars is presented to the absolute highest standard on the lawns of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Edinburgh.
Only 60 cars of the highest calibre are invited to take part in the Concours (60 being a reference to Her Majesty The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee which saw the event established at Windsor Castle in 2012), with the rarest cars from all over the world painstakingly selected by the Concours Steering Committee – among the most highly regarded and authoritative car experts.

Supporting the 60 Concours cars will be many more from the show’s partner manufacturers Bentley, Jaguar Land Rover, McLaren; and collectors and clubs from across Europe.
With two Royal Warrants, Autoglym will be in familiar regal surroundings in Edinburgh, with 20 highly qualified technicians on hand throughout the event to prepare and care for the vehicles during the all important Concours of Elegance judging.
The team will also be on hand to give technical know-how and practical car care advice to the thousands of visitors expected at the Palace of Holyroodhouse.
Paul Caller, chief executive of Autoglym, said: “The Concours of Elegance is one of the most prestigious classic car events in the UK and is now a fixture in the motoring world calendar, unique in that it is held in a sublime Royal Palace each year, and we are delighted to work with the organisers once more after the success of the previous three at Windsor, St. James and Hampton Court.
“Many of our products were formulated years after these cars were even built, so ensuring they suit the needs of an older vehicle is essential.

“Having close links with motor manufacturers, museums and access to historic car collections enables us to keep a catalogue of paint plates, rubbers and leathers to test on when carrying out development work.  This makes our products a very reassuring choice for car owners, no matter what the vintage.”

The three day spectacular motoring festival runs from the 4th to 6th September 2015.
