Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Hexagon Classics is selling a mint concours 28 year old Mercedes 500 SL with just 965 miles.

  • Hexagon Classics presents possibly one of the best Mercedes R107s on sale anywhere in the world
  • Incredible UK-supplied 500 SL has been cherished from new having covered just 965 miles since 1989
  • Production of the R107 spanned 17 years and it played starring roles in popular TV series such as Dallas
  • Example at Hexagon is not only in timewarp condition but also one of the last R107s made making it highly collectable
Leading London classic car retailer Hexagon is delighted to offer for sale an outstanding R107 Mercedes-Benz 500 SL – a 956-mile car that is potentially the best on sale in the world right now.
Having covered an average of just 34 miles every year over its 28-year lifespan, this remarkable 500 SL is in true timewarp condition, completely cherished from new with flawless black paint and completely unmarked Cream Beige Hide.
A 1989 right-hand-drive UK-supplied car, it is also one of the last R107s produced – the model range was completely replaced by the R129 series in the same year – and represents a unique opportunity for a collector.
First launched in 1971, the R107 became the company’s second longest running production model of all time. Based on the W114 saloon, but with engines from the larger and more powerful S-Class, it blended speed, refinement, safety and style, and was over-engineered in famous Mercedes-Benz style.
A stylish two-seater drop head with occasional seating for two in the rear, the car was an immediate success, thanks in part to its fully lined roof that made it usable daily in all climates. The R107 also made numerous appearances on popular TV shows, including a starring role in Dallas.
Supplied new on 1st November 1989, the 500 SL at Hexagon Classics features a 242bhp 5.0-litre V8 and has a host of options including ‘Tempomat’ cruise control, air conditioning, green-tinted sun-deflecting glass, heated seats and a separate hard top. Accompanying this ultra-rare, low mileage Mercedes is its original tool kit and book pack with two hardtop release handles.
Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “This is an unmissable opportunity for someone to purchase a true collector’s item. It is always difficult to find Mercedes of this era with low mileage – like Porsches they were built to be used daily after all – but to find an R107 500 SL with less than 1,000 miles on the clock is just unbelievable. This example is perfect in every way and looks like it has just driven out of a showroom in 1989.”
This remarkable Mercedes is priced at £94,995 and is available to view at Hexagon Classics’ showroom in north London.

  • Previously owned by former Mercedes team principal and F1’s new Managing Director, Ross Brawn
  • Finished in Bianco Polo Park white paint with black hide, this right-hand-drive car is also the penultimate Dino to be exported to the UK
Leading London classic car retailer Hexagon is delighted to welcome one of the rarest and most desirable Ferrari 246 GTS Dino models in existence – the famous ‘Flares’ variant.
Previously owned by former Mercedes team principal and F1’s new Managing Director, Ross Brawn, this very special 1974 open-top Dino features the famous ‘Flares’ package of factory-fitted 7½-inch sand-cast Campagnolo wheels with a wider track and flared wheelarches.
A very rare Dino indeed with just 12 examples built worldwide, the right-hand-drive car at Hexagon Classics is also the penultimate model to be exported to the UK, further adding to its desirability.
Freshly re-painted in period Bianco Polo Park white and with just 24,000 miles it is in almost as-new condition and represents a fantastic opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts.
It also features re-trimmed black leather seats to Daytona specification (so named after the V12 coupe, which was also on sale at the time). When combined with the wheelarches and Campagnolo wheels in period, the factory-fitted package was known as ‘Chairs and Flares’.
As with all Dinos, power comes from a mid-mounted 195hp 2.4-litre V6 giving a top speed of 146mph. The car comes complete with the manufacturer’s order and associated invoices to Maranello Concessionaires, the original Concessionaires sales order and correspondence, operating handbook and parts book, handbook wallet and historical chassis file including marque specialist invoices. It also carries Ferrari Classiche certification.
Hexagon Classics Chairman Paul Michaels said: “This is one very special Dino indeed. Not only does it have a famous previous owner in the shape of Ross Brawn, but it is also one of the rarest in the world. The factory-fitted ‘Flares’ package is rightly highly desirable – those stunning Campagnolo wheels, wider track and, of course, flared arches, are subtle yet stunning additions to an already striking car.

“Factor in the retro-fitted Daytona seats, right-hand drive and its status as the penultimate Dino to be brought to the UK and you have a very collectable classic Ferrari. This is without doubt a wonderful opportunity to purchase one of the finest Dinos currently on sale anywhere.”

The Ferrari 246 GTS Dino is available to view now at Hexagon Classics’ flagship showroom in north London.

An Uber rare 2010 80 miles only Porsche 911 Sport Classic to go up for sale at Hexagon Classic.

  • Leading London classic car retailer Hexagon is delighted to offer for sale one of the rarest 997-generation Porsches
  • Stunning 2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic is just one of 250 cars ever sold worldwide and has covered only 80 miles
  • Presented in Sport Classic Grey paintwork and in as-new condition, it represents one of the most collectable 997-generation Porsches
  • For more information, please visit http://hexagonclassics.com/
With production limited to just 250 models, a ducktail rear spoiler and twin-domed roof among a host of modifications and upgrades, the 911 Sport Classic is one of the most collectable modern Porsches – and Hexagon is delighted to offer for sale perhaps the best example in the world.
Having covered just 80 miles, to say this right-hand drive model has been cherished is a huge understatement. It is presented in as-new condition, a true time-warp car whose bodywork, interior and mechanicals look just as they did when the original buyer took delivery seven years ago.

And what a car to cherish. With the ducktail rear spoiler, front lip spoiler and Fuchs-style alloys a clear nod to the fabled 2.7 RS of the 1970s, the Sport Classic pays homage to its brilliant forbear, but adds modern touches such as PCCB carbon brakes and the wide body from the four-wheel drive models.
With rear-wheel drive and no turbochargers though – just that normally aspirated 3.8-litre flat six modified to 402bhp – it’s a purist’s plaything. Further neat additions include that motorsport-inspired twin-domed roof, subtle grey racing stripes and 20mm lower ride height thanks its sports chassis package.
The specification list doesn’t stop there though. The 911 Sport Classic also packs yellow brake calipers, a sports exhaust system with larger tail pipes and limited slip differential, while the cabin doesn’t skimp on quality with aluminium door skins, a Nappa leather wheel and Bose sound system. Presented in Sport Classic Grey, this car naturally comes with a full history and will be soldwith a fresh MoT and a 12-month warranty.
Hexagon Classics Chairman Paul Michaels said: “The 911 Sport Classic was such a hit with Porsche collectors that the 250-car limited run sold out even before the company officially announced it. It’s not hard to see why – it harks back to legendary 911s like the 2.7 RS but mixes those classic cues with some well-chosen modifications to make it a proper enthusiast’s machine.
“Because it’s not a Rennsport car, it’s a 997 that has always flown a little under the radar – just look at the spotlight that’s fallen on the RS 4.0 and GT3 models for example – but that hasn’t stopped its stock from quietly rising. All those upgrades make the 911 Sport Classic a really rather wonderful package after all."
“Finding one with 8,000 miles on the clock would be hard enough, let alone 800 miles – but with a barely believable 80-miles, this is the best 911 Sport Classic on the market anywhere in the world. It looks like it has just rolled off the line in Stuttgart, with not a mark on its paintwork or leather trim. We’re privileged to have it in stock and there’s no doubt it’s the ideal addition to any Porsche collection.”
This Porsche 911 Sport Classic is available to view now at Hexagon Classics’ flagship showroom in north London.

Leading London classic car retailer Hexagon is proud to offer for sale an ultra-rare Porsche 911 ‘993’ RS Clubsport

  • Leading London classic car retailer Hexagon is proud to offer for sale an ultra-rare Porsche 911 ‘993’ RS Clubsport
  • The RS Clubsport is perhaps the purest version of the 993-generation Porsche 911, and with just 227 built it’s extremely rare, too
  • This pristine 1995 model year example is finished in Speed Yellow, with 18-inch ‘Speedline’ alloy wheels and black interior
  • For more information, please visit http://hexagonclassics.com/
Christmas has come early at leading London classic car retailer, Hexagon Classics, with the arrival of a very rare Porsche ‘993’ RS Clubsport. The immaculately presented 1995 model year car represents one of the most focused versions of perhaps the most desirable 911 of the last 20 years.
Not only does it feature an engine bored out to 3.8 litres – producing 300hp – but comforts such as rear seats, carpets, radio and power windows were removed to save weight.

In their place were large aerodynamic wings, a welded roll cage and special racing seats, creating a roadgoing 911 bearing a striking resemblance to those normally found on a race track.
Finished in Speed Yellow with three-piece 18-inch ‘Speedline’ aluminium wheels this 1995 34,700-mile left-hand drive Clubsport features completely unblemished bodywork and a pristine black leather interior. The Speed Yellow theme continues into the interior, with the painted roll cage and matching seatbacks. For added comfort, air-conditioning and a radio were fitted, despite being deleted as standard.
Only 227 993 RS Clubsports were produced globally – Porsche made 1,014 examples of the 993 RS in total – and the Hexagon Classics example stands out as one of the finest. A much sought-after model produced for the German market, Hexagon Classics’ Clubsport has a full service history and will be sold with a fresh MoT and a 12-month warranty.
Hexagon Classics Chairman Paul Michaels said: “The 911 RS models are the pinnacle of performance, and extremely sought-after by those in the know. This 993 Clubsport is an evolution of everything that RS stands for; more focused, more thrilling and more of the very essence of the Porsche 911. We’re privileged to have such a low-mileage example in stock, and there’s no doubting it could make quite the Christmas present for Porsche 911 collectors.”
Priced at £399,995, the Porsche 911 ‘993’ RS Clubsport is available to view now at Hexagon Classics’ flagship showroom in north London.

One of the most rare cars in the world today is coming up for sale via Hexagon Classics.

  • Hexagon is delighted to offer for sale an incredibly rare, right-hand-drive Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 Cabriolet
  • The stunning example could well be the only right-hand-drive convertible 280 on sale in the world today
  • Car is offered in near-concours condition, having been the subject of a highly detailed restoration by Sleeping Beauties of Brisbane
Hexagon Classics is delighted to offer for sale an extremely rare example of the timeless Mercedes-Benz 280.
This right-hand-drive SE 3.5 Cabriolet version was handbuilt back in 1970 to extremely high standards, and it could well be the only RHD convertible 280 on sale in the world right now.
The subject of a detailed restoration by Australia’s leading Mercedes-Benz restoration company, Sleeping Beauties of Brisbane, it is in incredible condition. Features include a super smooth four-speed, floor-mounted automatic gearbox, electric windows and a six-layer folding roof.

With a refined but powerful V8 engine, excellent sound deadening and power steering, it all adds up to one of the most relaxing cars in the world, a four-seater cabriolet that can cruise along in classy quietness.

This impeccable Mercedes comes in striking black paint, which contrasts beautifully with the luxurious red leather interior. On top of this, the car has its original handbook and detailed pictures of its full restoration.
The 280 was first introduced in 1965 and was built to rival Rolls-Royce and Bentley Corniche Convertibles. This car is perfect for a Mercedes enthusiast looking to enjoy the one of the world’s most relaxing four-seater soft-top convertibles and is available to view at Hexagon’s central London showroom.
Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “Seeing a right-hand-drive Mercedes-Benz 280 SE 3.5 for sale is extremely rare, let alone one like this in such incredible condition. It’s one of the greatest cars in the German brand’s history and certainly deserves all the plaudits it gets. Sleeping Beauties of Brisbane has done sterling work restoring this stunning car, and a lucky buyer can now profit from their brilliance and Mercedes’ expertise.”

Two of the most pristine example of a Series 1 jaguar E-Type are to go up for sale at £295,995 each.

  • Hexagon is delighted to offer for sale not one, but two perfectly preserved Series 1 Jaguar E-Types
  • Quite possibly the two lowest-mileage 4.2-litre examples in the world, Hexagon has a 1965 Roadster with 8,676 miles and a 1965 Fixed Head Coupe with just 10,513 miles
  • Offered in incredible original condition and with matching numbers, both are priced at £249,995
  • The Series 1 E-Type is a true icon, one of Britain’s greatest automotive triumphs and one of the most desirable classic cars in the world
  • For more information please visit https://hexagonclassics.com/
Hexagon Classics is proud to offer for sale two of the lowest-mileage Jaguar E-Types in the world, both of which have been perfectly preserved since their creation in 1965.
Both cars, a Roadster and a Fixed Head Coupe, are Series 1 4.2-litre engined models in right-hand-drive and represent two of the most desirable examples of the legendary, iconic E-type in the world.

The stunning Carmen Red Roadster (http://bit.ly/29ToBQs) could well be the lowest-mileage Series 1 Roadster in existence, with just 8,676 miles on the clock, while the Opalescent Silver Blue FHC could also be the lowest mileage Series 1 Coupe in existence (http://bit.ly/2a5PYu2) with 10,513 miles.
Their respective owners have driven these cars sparingly over the 50 years they’ve been on the road and they’ve been meticulously looked after.

The Roadster was first sold by Birmingham dealer P.J Evans to a Mr M Hart on February 22nd 1965. It comes with the original operating, maintenance and servicing handbook, factory brochure, Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate and historical tax discs, registration documents and MOTs.
The Fixed Head Coupe spent its life on the other side of the world in New Zealand. Sold new by official Jaguar Cars distributor Archibald’s Garage of Christchurch to a Mr D G Owen on February 11th 1966, it is understood the car remained in New Zealand until it was acquired by Hexagon.
Carrying the most beautiful patina, this incredibly car comes complete with the original certificate of registration, handbook wallet, maintenance voucher book, complete factory-supplied tool roll and factory-supplied jack.
Jaguar wowed the world when it unleashed the E-Type in 1961, with buyers instantly hooked on the car’s top-notch performance and dazzling looks. The British weren’t the only ones in awe, though, as Ferrari founder Enzo Ferrari famously called it “the most beautiful car ever made”.
Originally launched with a 3.8-litre engine in 1961, Jaguar raised capacity to 4.2-litres in 1964. It produced the same 265bhp as the 3.8 and had an identical 150mph top speed, but a 59Nm hike in torque – up to 384Nm – gave the car some extra low-down punch.
First-generation Series 1s are recognisable by glass-covered headlights and a small, stylish opening on the nose. Signal and tail-lights feature above the rear bumper, while twin exhausts sit under the number plate.
Paul Michaels, chairman of Hexagon Classics, said: “Seeing an E-Type with mileage this low is very unusual but offering two for sale at the same time is almost unheard of. These are incredible examples of one of the best cars in British automotive history. And they’re both later 4.2s as well – that extra torque plus the synchromesh ‘box makes them even better to drive than the earlier 3.8s. If you want the best E-type in the world, look no further. The only thing to choose is whether you want the Roadster or the Coupe.”
