ŠKODA Superb claims ‘Best Upper Medium Car’ title at Fleet World Honours making this, the fifth award this year.

  • ŠKODA Superb claims ‘Best Upper Medium Car’ title at Fleet World Honours
  • Judges impressed by space, style and efficiency
  • Fifth award win for ŠKODA’s flagship this year
The ŠKODA Superb was named ‘Best Upper Medium Car’ at the 2016 Fleet World Honours, at The Royal Automobile Club in London last today. The annual Fleet World Honours celebrates the very best in the fleet industry.
Voted best in category, the ŠKODA Superb boasts space, style and the ideal combination of technology, comfort, desirability and value for money, all with a P11D rate that starts from £19,005 and BiK of 19%.

Steve Moody, Editor of Fleet World, commented: "ŠKODA’s excellent new Superb makes a great case for itself. Understated and stylish, it’s spacious enough to shame much larger cars, with equipment levels to match.
“ŠKODA also scores highly on fuel efficiency, with the 95g/km Greenline III diesel available in most trim levels, including fleet-focused SE Business versions. It makes it hard to argue for any other winner in this sector."
Speaking after the win, Henry Williams, Head of Fleet for ŠKODA UK said: "Being named ‘Best Upper Medium Car’ in this year’s Fleet World Honours is testament to the Superb’s compelling residual values, class-leading space, eye-catching design and sophisticated technology. The success of the ŠKODA Superb is the perfect showcase for the brand’s continued growth in the fleet sector.”
Launched in the UK in September 2015, the new Superb has picked up five awards this year alone, including the What Car? title for Best Estate Car.

The Skoda Estate becomes the UK's best selling business Estate & the SE Business Greenline III has a BiK of 16%

  • The model now has 25% of the true fleet estate segment
  • Octavia Estate enjoys year-on-year market share increase of 53%
  • SE Business Greenline III version comes with BiK of 16%
The ŠKODA Octavia Estate is the UK’s most popular estate car in the fleet market, according to new data. The multi award-winning model now occupies 25% of the estate segment, and grew its market share by 53% year-on-year. The figures are taken from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ analysis* of fleet sales during 2015.

The continuing popularity of the Octavia Estate is testament to the compelling offer it presents to company car drivers and their employers.
For example, the SE Business 1.6 TDI Greenline III version is available with P11D of just £21,370 and BiK of 16%. This means that it costs employees as little as £57** per month.
Not only that, but each vehicle comes with an impressive array of technology and accessories. In every ŠKODA SE Business model, 16” alloys, an Amundsen touch-screen sat nav and Bluetooth connectivity come as standard.
Furthermore, the Octavia Estate Greenline III provides impressive fuel efficiency of 80.7mpg on the combined cycle, 110PS, 90g/km of CO2 emissions, and a class-leading 1,740 litres of boot space with the seats down.
Patrick McGillycuddy, Head of Fleet for ŠKODA UK, commented: “There is no doubt that the Octavia Estate has been a revelation in the fleet market. It has the dual benefit of offering fleet managers the compelling financial figures they like to see, whilst also giving user-choosers an impressive assortment of kit to make every day driving more enjoyable.”
The Octavia Estate’s success coincides with a strong year of fleet sales for ŠKODA UK. In 2015, the brand announced a year-on-year spike in sales among corporate and SME clients of 22%.

Skoda takes two awards at carBuyer awards ceremony 2015.

  • ŠKODA scoops Best First Car and Best Tax-Exempt car in the 2015 Car Buyer Awards
  • Octavia Estate and Citigo add to their growing trophy cabinets
  • Citigo praised for its running costs and sophistication
  • Octavia Estate wowed judges with its low CO2 emissions and class-leading space
The ŠKODA Citigo and Octavia Estate have secured yet more silverware courtesy of car review website CarBuyer. The online giant handed the Best First Car award to the Citigo and bestowed the honour of Best Tax-Exempt Car on the Octavia Estate.

In a change to previous years, the CarBuyer judges looked at some of the most requested searches on its site, and chose these as the categories. Having won a number of CarBuyer awards in the past for its best in class models, ŠKODA also triumphed under the new procedure – reinforcing their overall appeal with buyers.

Commenting on the Citigo’s award for Best First Car, CarBuyer Editor Stuart Milne said: “The Citigo is fun, sophisticated and cheap to buy and run. In the closely fought small-car market ŠKODA's reputation for great customer service sets it apart.”

As many newly-qualified drivers have already discovered, the Citigo’s intuitive controls, great visibility and compact dimensions make it the ideal car for first-timers. To highlight this, ŠKODA is a partner in the Young Driver programme – a scheme that provides driving lessons for children aged 11 to 17.

With access to a fleet of Citigos, The Young Driver programme uses 30 specially designed training facilities across the country to give the next generation of drivers the best possible start to their driving careers. To date, more than 100,000 lessons have been delivered by instructors.

At the other end of the size scale, CarBuyer also judged the Octavia Estate to be its Best Tax-Exempt Car, with Editor Stuart Milne saying: “The Octavia Estate is a big car with a massive boot, which makes it all the more incredible that some versions emit so little CO2 that they're free to tax.”

A total of six models in the Octavia Estate range have CO2 outputs low enough (Band A – up to 100g/km) under to qualify for zero rated car tax. This includes the generously equipped Octavia SE Business GreenLine III (£21,170) that features Amundsen satellite navigation, acoustic parking sensors and alloy wheels.
