GMC today introduced the 2017 Sierra HD All Terrain X, the most off-road-capable model in the Sierra HD lineup, and one that matches its enhanced capability with trail-ready style and the brand’s signature refinement.

It joins Canyon and Sierra 1500 this fall as the third model in GMC’s distinctive, limited-edition All Terrain X series, offered on the Sierra 2500HD crew cab 4WD with a 6.0L gas V-8 engine or the all-new, next-generation Duramax 6.6L V-8 turbo-diesel. 

More powerful than ever, the new Duramax delivers a segment-topping SAE-certified 445 hp (332 kW) and an SAE-certified 910 lb.-ft. of torque (1,234 Nm).

The All Terrain X’s customized appearance blends a premium package of monochromatic exterior trim and special equipment, complemented with GMC’s latest technologies. Content includes:

• 18-inch black-painted aluminum wheels
• LT275/65R18 Goodyear Duratrac MT-rated tires that feature an aggressive tread pattern for outstanding off-road performance
• A unique body-color grille surround with All Terrain insert
• Body-color door handles and bodyside moldings
• Black power-adjustable heated and power-folding trailering mirrors with integrated turn signals, LED rear guidance lamps and LED amber clearance lamps
• Black belt moldings, front bumper skidplate and B-pillars
• 4-inch black sport side steps
• Black sport bar (mounted in the bed) designed to support available GMC Accessories LED off-road driving lamps
• Offered in Black Onyx and Summit White exterior colors

Additional All Terrain equipment includes a spray-on bedliner, Front and Rear Park Assist, the Z71 off-road suspension package, underbody shield, heated steering wheel and all-weather floor liners. The Eaton automatic locking rear differential is also standard.

The 2017 Sierra 2500HD All Terrain X also features GMC IntelliLink with an 8-inch-diagonal color touchscreen, Teen Driver, remote-locking tailgate, remote starting system, Rear Vision Camera, adjustable pedals, leather-appointed seats, heated front seats and wireless charging.

• Stratstone acquires the third ‘Missing Six’ Lightweight E-type

Stratstone has today been revealed as the owner of one of the famous 2015 Jaguar Lightweight E-types.  Chassis number 15 is one of the infamous ‘Missing Six’ and didn’t have to travel far from the iconic Jaguar Browns Lane production facility in Coventry as it made its way to its new base at Stratstone Jaguar London in Mayfair.

The fascinating story of the Lightweight E-type dates back to February 1963 and the intended 18-car ‘Special GT E-type’ race car project from that time.  Only 12 of the 18 were built and delivered by the Browns Lane competitions department between 1963 and 1964, which gave rise to the infamous ‘Missing Six’.  

These missing chassis numbers – 13 to 18 – were found in 2014, and so the modern-day production by Jaguar Land Rover’s new Special Vehicle Operations division’s Jaguar Classic, got underway.

The modern incarnation of the Lightweight saw Jaguar Classic draw on the company’s original 1960s tooling and production methods, and it’s unique highly experienced engineering and design resources.  

Replete with world-leading aluminium body technology, skilled hand craftsmanship, the six-cylinder XK engine with its aluminium block, wide angle aluminium cylinder head and dry sump lubrication (derived from the Le-Mans winning D-type of the 1950s), the 2015 Lightweight E-type is both original and special in every way.

The cars are delivered as period competition vehicles, fully compliant with FIA homologation for historic motorsport purposes.  All of the ‘Missing Six’ are built to period-exact dimensions and specifications, ensuring absolute authenticity and a modern-day build to the highest quality standards.

DS Automobiles to build it's third model in China, the DS 4S, a compact hatchback, for China only.

PSA/Peugeot-Citroen says it will begin production of a third model from its near-premium DS brand, the DS 4S, at its plant in Shenzhen, China. Sales are scheduled to begin in the first half of next year.

The DS 4S compact hatchback, which was unveiled at the Guangzhou auto show, will be built and sold exclusively in China.

The DS 4S will offer a choice of two 1.8-liter gasoline engines that generate either 136 hp or 204 hp. The company says it will also offer a turbocharged engine, although it did not disclose its displacement or power.

Standard equipment includes a six-speed automatic transmission.

The car, designed in France, will be produced by PSA's joint venture with Chongqing Changan Automobile Co.

The 50-50 partnership, launched in 2010, constructed an assembly plant in Shenzhen to produce models for DS Automobiles, which was made a stand-alone marque last year after functioning for four years as a Citroen subbrand.

Last year the plant began assembling the DS 5LS sedan, followed by the DS 6 crossover.

PSA also produces models for the Citroen and Peugeot brands at a joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp. in the central China city of Wuhan.
