Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Seven-seat Volvo XC90 SUV voted Car Dealer Power Car of the Year 2016

  • Seven-seat XC90 voted Car Dealer Power Car of the Year 2016
  • Praised by both franchised and independent dealers across the UK
  • Available with diesel, petrol and plug-in hybrid powertrains, priced from £46,850
The Volvo XC90 has been named the Car Dealer Power Car of the Year 2016, as voted for by dealers across the UK.
The Car Dealer Power Awards, held each year at a prestigious black-tie event at the top of the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, are the only awards where franchised and independent dealers get to have their say on what they think of suppliers and their manufacturers.

Car Dealer receives hundreds of responses from dealers throughout the UK, and the awards celebrate those voted best in the country by their customers.
Andy Entwistle, Managing Director of Blackball Media, publishers of Car Dealer, said: “When it was launched, the all-new XC90 shone as a ringing endorsement of the hard work Volvo has put into replacing what was already a very accomplished car, while also launching the brand into a new style direction.
“The Car of the Year category isn’t just about franchised dealers voting for their favourite car from their manufacturer; it also gives independent dealers a chance to say what they think is the best car out there. Car Dealer saw nominations from a variety of independents and franchise holders for the XC90, with one nomination quoting they felt ‘the new XC90 was easily best in its class’,” he added.
Jon Wakefield, Acting Managing Director of Volvo Car UK, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that the XC90 has been recognised by dealers in the UK as their Car of the Year in the Car Dealer Power survey – it’s a testament to the car to have won such a respected industry award. To be voted for by both independent and franchise dealers alike demonstrates the huge popularity the XC90 has brought Volvo since its introduction to dealers in June last year.”
The award comes as Volvo Car UK announces its plans to invest in the UK motor trade industry with the launch of its Sponsored Dealer Programme. This gives talented motor trade professionals the opportunity to set up their own Volvo dealership, with support from Volvo Car UK, and become advocates of the brand.

The Skoda Yeti has been selected by trade and magazine as the UK’s best used car, its not bad new either.

  • Yeti selected by trade and magazine as the UK’s best used car
  • Judges praised high residual values and forecourt desirability
  • Yeti has won 25 key industry awards since its introduction in 2009
The ŠKODA Yeti has scooped yet another key industry award, having just been named Used Car of the Year by Car Dealer Magazine. The award was announced at the publication’s annual Used Car of the Year ceremony held at The Brewery in central London.

The Car Dealer Used Car honours take a host of factors into account as part of the judging process. In addition to retained value after three years, the judging panel took data and feedback from dealers with regard to days to sell and desirability. After combining this information with the verdicts of the magazine’s road test team and website users, the Yeti was declared to be head and shoulders above the competition.
James Baggott, Managing Director of Car Dealer magazine said: “The Yeti was a unanimous decision this year. The award was made not only on its ability, but also its desirability – both with users and our own test findings.”
This latest award adds to the Yeti’s impressive tally of used car industry accolades. It was named Best Used Crossover in the 2015 Auto Express Used Car Awards and also took top honours in the Off-Roader category in the 2015 Auto Express Driver Power survey. In total, the Yeti has won 25 key industry titles in the UK alone since its introduction in 2009.
Commenting on the Yeti’s latest honour, Nick O’Neill, National Used Car Sales Manager for ŠKODA UK said: “The Yeti remains hugely popular with new and used car buyers and we’re delighted with this important award. Owners have consistently rated the Yeti as one of the most satisfying cars to own and this is reflected by strong demand in the used sector.”
The ŠKODA Approved Used Car Event is running until 4 December, with used Yetis up to two years old available with £1,000 deposit contribution, two years warranty and roadside assistance.

TELEGRAPH AWARDS - Bentley takes the Best Luxury Car gong at this weeks ceremony.

  • British-built four-door saloon takes top honours in online poll
  • The world’s best luxury sedan praised for being ‘as enjoyable to drive as it is to be chauffeured in.’
  • Flying Spur enhanced for 2015 with suite of new features and colours
Bentley’s Flying Spur has been named Best Luxury Car in the 2015 Telegraph Car Awards. The result, which was announced at an event in central London today, was decided by members of the public who voted for their favourite cars via the Telegraph’s Motoring website.

Kevin Rose, Bentley Member of the Board for Sales, Marketing and Aftersales, commented: “Bentley is the most successful luxury car brand in the world. Every Bentley is handcrafted by our skilled and dedicated team in Crewe, which makes each car a true luxury possession. On behalf of Bentley Motors and our 3,800 colleagues, I would like to say a big thank you to everyone that voted for us.”
Steve Huntingford, Cars Editor at The Telegraph, added: "The latest Flying Spur manages to feel both traditional and modern, plus it's as enjoyable to drive as it is to be chauffeured in. It's easy to see why Telegraph readers and our panel of judges rate it so highly."

The Flying Spur W12 is the fastest road-going luxury sedan in the world, powered by Bentley’s mighty 6.0-litre, twin turbo engine.

It develops 625 PS, sprinting from 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds, while a new variable displacement system allows the engine to run at part throttle on six of its 12 cylinders – reducing emissions and fuel consumption with no impact on refinement or performance.  The athletic design of the new Flying Spur combines traditional Bentley styling cues with a dynamic stance and contemporary details.

Designed for comfort and refinement as well as effortless performance, the Flying Spur has benefitted from a suite of enhancements for 2015.

The exquisite cabin gains modern and tactile new features to maintain Bentley’s reputation for interior style and usability, such as an on-board WiFi hotspot system, making the Flying Spur the ultimate luxury car for work or relaxation on the move.

Complementing the feature upgrades are new paint colours in the hues of Marlin, Camel and Jetstream and the addition of Shortbread and Camel hides to the extensive range of leathers.
