The 100 per cent electric Renault Kangoo Van Z.E. has proved its eco-credentials once more after picking up Best Green Van at the Business Van Manager Awards in London, today.

Europe’s best-selling electric van and former International Van of the Year impressed judges thanks to its green credentials. 

The Kangoo Van Z.E., first launched in 2011, is powered by a 44kW electric motor and 22kWh lithium-ion battery and four versions are available: Kangoo Van Z.E., Kangoo Van Maxi Z.E. (2 seats), Kangoo Van Z.E. Maxi Crew Van (5 seats) and Kangoo Maxi Crew Van CAB Z.E (5 seats with windows). It has a range of 106 miles (NEDC).

Thanks to its zero tailpipe emissions, a payload of 650kg and load capacity of up to 4.6m³, the Kangoo Van Z.E. is ideal for urban deliveries.

Kangoo Van Z.E is Europe’s best-selling electric van, with a basic price of £13,298.48 (inc. PiVG and excl. battery hire and VAT). It carries over the same user-friendly functional features as the internal combustion-engined version and offers a silent, versatile driving experience with maximum torque available from start-up and seamless acceleration thanks to the absence of gear changes.

In January, the Kangoo Van Z.E. was unveiled with an uprated range of 168 miles NEDC – boosting its current range by over 60 per cent.

Vauxhall takes the top prize and a trio of other awards at this years Business Van Of The Year ceremony.

Vauxhall’s Brit-built Vivaro has been named overall winner at the Business Van Awards 2016, which were presented today in London.

Martyn Collins, editor for Business vans stated “Which van is great to drive, affordable to run, plus has a well-equipped interior that can double as an office? That’ll be the Vauxhall Vivaro.” He added “When combined with the practical load area with the clever FlexCargo load-through bulkhead, it’s not difficult to see why the Vauxhall is our top van.”

For the second year running the Vivaro has also been presented with Best Large Trades Van.

“The reason the Vivaro has kept its Best Large Trades Van award is thanks to its impressively practical load area, exactly what trades need. And it’s British built, as well.”

The Vivaro was also awarded Best Green Van.

This accolade is the fifth in recent months, with the Vivaro also taking Medium Van of the year and Used Van of the Year at the What Van? Awards, Fleet Van of the Year at the Motor Transport Awards and Best Medium Panel Van at the Commercial Fleet Awards. The Vivaro is a popular choice for companies including BT Fleet, British Gas and Homeserve.

The largest van in Vauxhall’s range, the Movano, also scooped Best Heavy Van 2016.

The Business Van Awards are decided by an independent panel of judges, with each category reflecting the way customers perceive vans.

The all-electric Nissan e-NV200 today scooped its sixth prestigious industry award

The all-electric Nissan e-NV200 today scooped its sixth prestigious industry award in as many months, winning the Best Green Van honour at the Business Van of the Year awards in London.

The pioneering model triumphed at the independent awards after being put through its paces by an outside panel of expert judges, specialising in their own field and in the SME sector.

Their verdict supports that of the wider motoring media, which has bestowed a string of highly regarded awards on the van since its launch in the summer.

In December, the e-NV200 won What Van? magazine’s Green Award. It has also been named Industry Innovation of the Year by GreenFleet, LCV of the Year by Next Green Car and has helped Nissan to the ULEV Manufacturer of the Year title at the Energy Saving Trust's Fleet Hero awards and the Green Van Manufacturer of the Year title at the Fleet Van Awards.

Congratulating Nissan, Ralph Morton, Editorial Director at Business Van, said: “Going green has never been so easy.
