The all-new Nissan Navara has been named Pick-Up of the Year by leading title What Van?

The honour adds to the already impressive haul of awards claimed by the market-leading model, including the coveted International Pick-Up Award 2016.

The all-new 2017 Nissan TITAN full-size pickup has been named one of three finalists for 2017 North American Truck of the Year (NATOY), an annual award selected by an independent, self-funded jury made up of a group of automotive journalists from across the United States and Canada. 

The announcement was made this morning by NATOY judges as part of a Motor Press Guild (MPG) breakfast at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show.

The 2017 TITAN, which is on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide, is an integral part of Nissan's "Year of the Truck" – honoring the launch of a range of new or refreshed Nissan trucks, SUVs and CUVs, including Pathfinder, Rogue, Armada and TITAN.

The new TITAN is covered by Nissan's recently announced "America's Best Truck Warranty"¹ – featuring bumper-to-bumper coverage of 5-years/100,000-miles, whichever comes first. Vehicles covered by the new warranty, which includes basic and powertrain coverage, include all TITAN V8 gasoline-powered models and diesel and V8 gasoline-powered 2017 TITAN XD models.

Now in its 24th year, the NATOY jury selected the finalists from a list of trucks that set new benchmarks in the classes in which they compete. The jurors evaluated TITAN and other semi-finalists on the ballot based on factors including: value for the dollar, innovation, handling, performance, safety and driver satisfaction.

For the 2017 model year, the Nissan full-size pickup lineup has expanded with the arrival of the TITAN half-ton. Powered by Nissan's new 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 engine, the TITAN half-ton was first available in a roomy Crew Cab body, in both 4x4 and 4x2 configurations and in five well-equipped grade levels: S, SV, PRO-4X, SL and Platinum Reserve. Officially added to the lineup just this month are the 2017 TITAN and TITAN XD Single Cab models, while a King Cab variant, along with a V6 engine, will follow at later dates.

Like the TITAN XD, the new TITAN half-ton was developed with core Nissan planning, design, engineering and manufacturing teams contributing from Tennessee, California, Michigan, Arizona and Mississippi. The TITAN half-ton is assembled in Canton, Mississippi, with its V8 engines built in Decherd, Tennessee.

The 2017 TITAN Crew Cab half-ton's standard 5.5-foot bed is designed to work hard and play hard, with a wide range of available functionality features. Nissan's popular Utili-track® Bed Channel System, which made its industry-first debut on the original TITAN, features four heavy-duty aluminum alloy cleats that move and lock anywhere along the walls, as well as bed floor and header tracks that give the user endless tie-down possibilities.

Other TITAN bed features include the popular spray-on bedliner, flush-mounted LED bedrail lighting, cargo and tailgate lamps, 120-volt in-bed access and a damped tailgate that is light to lift and smoothly damped when lowering.

2017 TITAN models were recently named "Full-size Truck of Texas," "Commercial Vehicle of Texas" and "Best Value" by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA), and given an "Extreme Off-Road" title by journalists participating in the Active Lifestyle Vehicle Awards (ALV).

USA - Nissan launches the 2017 Single Cab Titan XD in both 4x2 and 4x4 versions, in the brands year of the truck.

Nissan today announced U.S. pricing for the 2017 TITAN and TITAN XD Single Cab pickups, which are on sale now at Nissan dealers nationwide. Pricing starts under $30,000 – with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price¹ (MSRP) of $29,580 for the TITAN S Single Cab 4x2 and $31,090 for the TITAN XD S Single Cab Gas 4x2.

Single Cab sales traditionally make up 10 percent of the full-size truck market and TITAN has never before been a part of the critical commercial business use segment. 

Now for 2017, the new Single Cab joins the previously available Crew Cab body configuration. 

The Single Cab is offered for both TITAN half-ton and TITAN XD models in S and SV grade levels. Key Single Cab features include a standard 8-foot bed, 12,640-pound maximum towing capacity (XD), Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System and available RearView Monitor.

The TITAN Single Cab is offered exclusively with the new 390-horsepower 5.6-liter Endurance® V8 gasoline engine, along with a 7-speed automatic transmission. Nissan today announced "America's Best Truck Warranty"* on its 2017 TITAN and TITAN XD full-size pickups – featuring bumper-to-bumper coverage of 5-years/100,000-miles, whichever comes first. Vehicles covered by the new warranty – which includes basic and powertrain coverage – include all TITAN V8 gasoline-powered models and diesel and V8 gasoline-powered 2017 TITAN XD models, including both 4x4 and 4x2 drive configurations, in Crew Cab and recently revealed Single Cab models.

The 2017 TITANs and TITAN XDs are scheduled to begin arriving at Nissan dealers nationwide later this month.

The results have been very positive, with Nissan NV Cargo and Passenger van sales up nearly 10 percent in 2016; NV200 cargo van sales have increased 17 percent through July.

The next chapter of Nissan's "Year of the Truck" was unveiled today with a sneak peek of the latest members of the TITAN full-size pickup family – the 2017 TITAN XD and TITAN Single Cab models. 

The first-ever single cab offering in TITAN history, the new trucks are designed to provide an affordable and rugged entry-point in the commercial fleet/work truck market. 

The Single Cab is the second of three eventual TITAN body configurations, joining the current Crew Cab and future King Cab. The Single Cab models are scheduled to go on sale in late fall 2016.

 

"Once we complete the roll-out of all TITAN cab, bed, powertrain and grade level configurations, our all-new TITAN family will cover about 85 percent of the total light pickup marketplace," said Rich Miller, director of Product Planning for Trucks, SUVs and Commercial Vehicles, Nissan North America, Inc. and chief product specialist for TITAN and TITAN XD. "More importantly, the TITAN XD and TITAN single cabs will have the power, torque, heavy duty chassis and durability demanded by today's demanding worksites – including the highest towing capacities and payloads in the lineup."

TITAN will ultimately be available in a total of three cabs, three bed lengths, three engines, 4x4 and 4x2 drive and S, SV, SL, PRO-4X and Platinum Reserve trim levels. The new single cab will be offered in both TITAN XD and TITAN configurations, with both versions sharing the same cab dimensions and 8.0-foot pickup beds but completely separate fully boxed ladder frame chassis.

The TITAN XD Single Cab, like the TITAN XD Crew Cab, will be offered in a choice of two engines – the Cummins® 5.0L V8 Turbo Diesel, which is rated at 310 horsepower and 555 lb-ft of torque; and the 5.6-liter Endurance V8, rated at 390 horsepower and 394 lb-ft of torque. The TITAN Single Cab, with about a foot shorter wheelbase, will be offered initially with the new 5.6-liter Endurance V8 (a V6 engine will be available at a later date). Diesel equipped models feature an Aisin 6-speed automatic transmission and V8 gasoline engine equipped versions will utilize a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Along with a choice of 4x4 and 4x2 drive configurations, two grade levels will be available with both TITAN XD and TITAN Single Cabs – S and SV, along with a number of optional equipment packages.

"The new Single Cab takes TITAN into new territory, bringing the innovative design and bed utility that TITAN has been known for to a wider base of commercial use buyers," added Miller.
