Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

MG announces reduced CO2 on Diesel engines and improved fuel consumption.

  • Improvement in CO2 to 129g/km figures for all MG6 GT and Magnette DTi-TECH variants
  • Fuel consumption improved from 53.5 mpg to 57.6 mpg (combined)
  • New figure lowers MG6 car tax to group D (previously E)
  • Attractive option for fleet managers
  • Exceptional levels of standard equipment available on all MG6 specifications
  • Free trim level upgrade available during Q4 for retail sales

MG Motor is pleased to announce an improvement on CO2 figures from 139g/km to just 129g/km for the MG6 GT and Magnette Diesel variants.  All DTi-TECH MG6 vehicles feature advanced stop-start and smart charge technology.

This decrease in emissions drops the BIK band to 20%, resulting in a monthly tax bill of only £56.47 per month for a MG6 DTi-TECH GT S.  The decrease in emissions also lowers the VED band for all MG6 Diesels from group E to a group D.

Despite improved emissions and fuel consumption, there is no change to the performance of the MG6 DTi-TECH, which still delivers a 150PS, 350NM diesel engine linked to a six-speed manual gearbox, a combination that provides a 0-60mph time of 8.9s, excellent in gear acceleration and punchy performance overall.

The decrease in emissions and current Q4 offers will see the MG6 Diesel become an attractive prospect for customers and fleet managers alike, an already exceptional level of spec is now better than ever with free upgrades on all Diesel specifications until 31 December.

Launched in 2012, the MG6 GT DTi-TECH boasts an impressive equipment list whilst retaining an affordable list price, starting at just £16,995. Under the current offers customers automatically upgrade from an S variant to an SE, benefiting from a saving of £1,200 and receiving additional equipment such as satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, cruise control and leather steering wheel. Building on the SE trim, the TSE now offers a saving of £2,000 and features front parking sensors, 18” alloy wheels, rear parking camera, leather trim, Bluetooth, automatic headlights, automatic windscreen wipers and electric heated seats. Magnette customers will be offered the opportunity to upgrade to an MG6 GT SE, saving £3,000.
