Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

USA - Nissan announces pricing and Specification for the 2016 Model Year Sentra sedan.

Nissan is closing out its best sales year ever with the arrival today of the refreshed 2016 Sentra sedan at Nissan dealers nationwide. The starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price* (MSRP) for the Sentra S with 6-speed manual transmission is $16,780, an increase of just $250 despite significant enhancements to the Sentra lineup for the new model year.

"Sentra has experienced tremendous growth in sales and market share in recent years, making it one of Nissan's fastest growing nameplates," said Dan Mohnke, vice president, Sales & Marketing Operations, U.S., Nissan North America, Inc. "To help keep momentum going, we've given Sentra a new look and feel for 2016, starting with a revised exterior and the addition of an expanded suite of available safety and driving aid technologies."
The exterior redesign brings Sentra closer to the bold new 2016 Maxima and redesigned 2016 Altima. All three Nissan sedans reflect Nissan's new design language first introduced on the dramatic Nissan Murano crossover. Key features of the new Sentra exterior include new front and rear fascias, grille, fenders, hood and signature boomerang-shaped headlights and taillights and a new available 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheel design. Sentra SR and SL grades add new LED low-beam headlights with LED signature accents.
Inside, the revised Sentra interior features a new steering wheel, new available power driver's seat with power lumbar, new center cluster and audio display design, new console and shifter knob, refined seat fabrics and auto on/off headlights for all grades. The instrument panel features an Advanced Drive-Assist™ Display (ADAD) with 5.0-inch screen located between the tachometer and speedometer on Sentra SV, SR and SL grades. These grades also include Siri Eyes Free™ Voice Recognition as standard equipment.
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for the 2016 Nissan Sentra:
Sentra S 6MT$16,780 USD
Sentra S Xtronic$17,630 USD
Sentra FE+ S Xtronic$18,030 USD
Sentra SV Xtronic$18,550 USD
Sentra SR Xtronic$20,410 USD
Sentra SL Xtronic$22,170 USD
Destination and handling $835.
A number of Nissan's advanced Safety Shield Technologies are also now available on Sentra for the first time – Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).
Another new available technology is NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM®. It offers emergency preparedness, remote access, customizable alerts and convenience services (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately). The system allows the driver to set customized alerts for family and friends – such as speed, curfew and boundary notifications.
NissanConnect Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM® subscription required, sold separately), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) and Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) are combined as part of the new Technology Package offered for Sentra SR and SL grades. Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) are included in the Driver's Assist Package (SV and SR grades) and standard on Sentra SL.
The 2016 Sentra also delivers enhanced performance and handling through a retuned suspension design featuring a 10 percent increase in spring and damper rates, as well as enhanced body stiffness for improved roll and body control. Drivability is enhanced through use of the third-generation D-Step logic for Xtronic transmission-equipped models. The D-Step Logic Control helps provide a more stable, natural and crisper shift feel (versus the previous execution).
Sentra also features a new standard Active Understeer Control (AUC) system (not available on S 6MT and FE+ S grades), similar to that utilized on the 2016 Nissan Altima. The AUC system utilizes intelligent control logic and high-response brake actuators to lightly brake the inside front wheels during cornering (as required) to increase yaw-moment. Using the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC)/Traction Control System (TCS) as its base, Active Understeer Control is almost undetectable when it operates.
Steering feel and response have also been improved through use of optimized Electric Power Steering (EPS) mapping in conjunction with the revised suspension and new tire design.
Also new for 2016 is one exterior color – Deep Blue Pearl, one of 10 available 2016 Sentra colors.
All Sentra models utilize a fuel-efficient 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine mated to an advanced Xtronic transmission with sub-planetary gear. A 6-speed manual transmission is also available with the Sentra S grade. Fuel economy is rated at 29 mpg city, 38 mpg highway and 32 mpg combined with the Xtronic transmission. The Sentra FE+ S grade achieves 30 mpg city, 40 mpg highway and 34 mpg combined. The Sentra S with 6-speed manual transmission is rated at 27 mpg city, 36 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined.
