H.R. Owen’s Supercar Sunday event brought one of Mayfair’s most famous streets to a standstill, with owners and enthusiasts touching down at Rolls-Royce Motor Cars London in Berkeley Square to celebrate the group’s most exciting models.
From 9am-12pm on Sunday 23 October, over 50 of the best supercars in the world were on display in Mayfair from across H.R. Owen’s high-end brand network.

The leading luxury dealer group deals with some of the biggest and most desirable marques in the business, including BAC, Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Bugatti, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Bentley and Lamborghini.
Naturally, spectators gathered in their hundreds to get a glimpse of the remarkable models on display, which included the new Lamborghini Aventador and the Ferrari California T.
The Aventador and six other models were brought to Berkeley Square by Lamborghini Pangbourne, which hosted a Drive Out event in the morning from its Berkshire location to Mayfair.

Supercar spotters around Mayfair were also fully satisfied with their day, as they got a glimpse of some remarkable models.
“To bring Berkeley Square to a standstill is testament to the excellent cars H.R. Owen deals with, and bringing so many people together is just another way the group gives back to its loyal customers.”

PARIS - Ferrari celebrates the 70th Birthday with a world tour and 70 cars with differing liveries, some on show at Paris.

Ferrari is availing of the Paris Motor Show to announce a series of special initiatives to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the marque’s foundation in 2017.
The celebratory anniversary logo will be unveiled at the event. Its forms are inspired by styling cues of the Prancing Horse cars and the marque’s passion for detail. This is a symbol that encapsulates 70 years of history and points the Ferrari brand to the future. The logo will be used exclusively on a small number of iconic cars.

It will appear for the first time on the LaFerrari Aperta,   the Prancing  Horse’s  latest limited-edition special  series and  a unique  model in terms   of  both  its   technology  and   styling, making  it  perfect  to  celebrate this important anniversary.

Another important initiative is the announcement of 70 different individual liveries created by the Tailor Made atelier and inspired by iconic models from Ferrari history. These 70 different configurations will be used to create a maximum of 350 unique cars: each can be used, in fact, once on one example of five models in the current range.
A number of these new liveries will be shown on the Paris stand:
  • F12berlinetta: “The Stirling”, inspired by the 250 GT Berlinetta SWB, winner of the 1961 Tourist Trophy with Stirling Moss: it sports a characteristic Blu Scuro racing livery complete with horizontal white stripe and number roundel.
  • 488 GTB: “The Schumacher”, an homage to the F2003-GA single-seater, winner of the F1 Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships in 2003, in which the legendary German driver took no fewer than six grand prix victories.
  • California T: “The Steve McQueen”, inspired by the 1963 250 GT Berlinetta lusso, one of the most elegant Ferraris ever built, which was a gift to the American actor from his first wife, Neile Adams. It features brown body paintwork and a cabin in camel leather with elegant stitching.
  • 488 Spider: “The Green Jewel”, sports the signature green livery of the 365 P2 fielded by the British David Piper Racing team. Piper was a regular and very well-known Ferrari privateer and drove the car to victory in the Nine Hours of Kyalami in both 1965 and 1966 and, in 1966, in the prestigious Trophée d’Auvergne at Clermont-Ferrand.
  • A second example of a 488 Spider is displayed in the Tailor Made area. Inspired by the 1953 375 MM bodied by Pinin Farina, it features an elegant three-layer Bianco Italia exterior colour.
2017 will also bring the start of a world tour spanning more than 60 different countries to underscore the Prancing Horse’s global reach. A year-long series of events in Italy and worldwide will see classic Ferraris and modern cars side by side and the celebrations will conclude with an exclusive event in Maranello.

Engine of the year awards the Ferrari 3.9 litre twin turbo three awards and the overall title, at long last a decent winner.

Ferrari takes a record number of prizes at the International Engine of the Year Awards
The 3.9-litre twin-turbo takes no fewer than three categories along with the overall Engine of the Year Award
The F12tdf’s 6.3-litre V12 takes the Above 4-litre category
Ferrari has been honoured to receive a record number of awards at the International Engine of the Year Award ceremony, held at the Engine Expo 2016 in Stuttgart, this morning.
With 63 jurors from more than 30 countries, the International Engine of the Year Award is one of the industry’s most coveted honours.

Ferrari took the most important of them all, the overall International Engine of the Year Award, with the twin-turbo V8 that powers the 488 GTB, 488 Spider and, with a slightly different displacement, the California T. In fact, this engine also won the Performance Engine and New Engine categories, as well as the 3-litre to 4-litre displacement category.
Ferrari’s naturally-aspirated 6.3-litre V12 engine that powers the F12berlinetta and F12tdf also received the Above 4-litre award.
A concentration of uncompromising engineering solutions, Ferrari’s return to twin-turbo technology for the V8 range has set a new benchmark for turbo-charged engines. Zero turbo lag and a progressive delivery of torque throughout the rev range maintain unprecedented levels of driver involvement, as well as providing a signature Ferrari soundtrack and power delivery that propels the Prancing Horse into the lead in this segment.
According to Graham Johnson, co-chairman, International Engine of the Year Awards,
“It’s a giant leap forward for turbocharged engines in terms of efficiency, performance and flexibility. It truly is the best engine in production today and will forever be remembered as one of the all-time greats.

Ferrari's popular California T now comes with a Handling Speciale (HS) Option to make it ever better.

The California T, Ferrari's immensely successful front-engined V8 model with retractable hard top and 2+ seating configuration, is now available with the brand-new Handling Speciale (HS) option.

Clients the world over have been so impressed with the California T's ideal combination of performance and versatility that it has become the benchmark for all high-performance Grand Tourers. Now owners looking for an even more sporty driving experience, particularly on challenging, twisty routes, have a new optional package to meet their needs.

The Handling Speciale option offers a series of specific calibrations and a set-up that lends an extra edge, especially in the manettino's Sport mode. This bespoke solution incorporates new damper settings and modified springs that make the car stiffer which, although marginally reducing the ride comfort, results in even sportier feedback, aided and abetted by the new engine sound that increases as revs rise.

The gear-shift logic for the Sport mode has been modified (both in automatic and manual), resulting in faster, sportier gear engagement during both up- and down-shifts.

The HS package also includes 16% stiffer front springs and 19% stiffer ones at the rear with a consequent increase in body control thanks to lower roll, dive and pitch.

The differences in Sport mode are underscored by a new strategy for the SCM3 magnetorheological dampers that increases their speed of response and improves their efficiency. The revised F1-Trac logic helps ensure even better acceleration, particularly when exiting corners and on more bumpy road surfaces.

The HS package also includes a new exhaust system with silencers featuring two primary pipes and a new geometry designed to yield an exhaust note that increases progressively as engine speed increases, with a sound in keeping with the car's more sporty character.

The exhaust was developed in tandem with the engine and gearbox control software to underline the performance gains, with a more rapid response and improved sound and volume when driven hard.

The exhaust's new timbre is instantly recognisable as soon as the driver hits the Start button. It is fuller, richer and more involving at all speeds and in all driving situations.

On an aesthetic level, certain elements have been highlighted to underscore the HS package's sporty vocation while still retaining the California T's signature elegance and sophistication. These include the new front grille in matte Grigio Ferro Met and the rear diffuser in the same colour with matte black fences and matte black tailpipes. A special plaque in the cockpit also indicates that the car sports the HS optional package.

The new option makes its official debut at the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show.

USA RECALL - FERRARI - over 800 cars over Eight models, all for airbag issues, from Takata Corp, AGAIN.

Luxury supercar maker Ferrari is recalling 814 vehicles, costing from $200,000 to more than $1.4 million, to fix driver-side airbags that were installed at an improper angle.
The airbags were discovered when Ferrari was doing tests on a 458 Italia’s steering column, according to documents posted to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration website today. The airbag deployed in a rotated orientation, Ferrari said, which could cause injury.

The Italian manufacturer, owned by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV, found that the leather skin covering the airbag module had been improperly glued and the air-bag cushions had been installed at the wrong angle. The recall covers eight different models made from December to April this year.
Although the airbags were produced by troubled Japanese supplier Takata Corp., the defect isn’t the same as in the Takata airbags that have exploded and sent shrapnel toward drivers and passengers. That recall affects more than 34 million inflators worldwide and has been linked to at least eight fatalities.
No fatalities or injuries were reported in the documents Ferrari filed with the U.S. regulator. As required by law, Ferrari will replace the driver-side air bags free of charge. The recall is expected to begin July 30.

The recall covers the 458 Italia, the 458 Spider, the 458 Speciale, the 458 Speciale A, the California T, the FF, the F12 Berlinetta and the LaFerrari. All the affected cars were manufactured between Dec. 19, 2014, and April 29, 2015.
Suggested list prices range from $202,000 for the California T to $1.42 million for the LeFerrari, according to Car and Driver website.
Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said July 10 that an initial public offering for a spun off Ferrari SpA was “days away.”

New technology added to bespoke California T, showcased at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Ferrari will be showcasing a very special “Tailor Made” California T at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, inspired by the passion and colours of Polo and Horse racing.

The California T encapsulates the ethos of personalisation, with a Bianco Italia three-layer exterior with a double-asymmetric stripe in Blu Hellen  mirrored by a sumptuous Blu Sterling interior with Bianco elements and highlights.

The car is finished off with 20” forged wheels which have been painted in Blu Hellen and Argento Nurburgring.

This particular California T showcases a new high-tech “Mycro Prestige” fabric  material that has been specifically made exclusively for Ferrari.

Mycro Prestige is a highly resistant material that offers an exceptional level of grip, and, thanks to its unique mixture of fibres which are only 0.7mm thick, it is only one-third the weight of traditional leather.

The material is also flameproof, water resistant and at the same time porous and breathable.

This very special California T Tailor Made will be displayed inside the exclusive Ferrari VIP hospitality enclosure for Ferrari clients, alongside a comprehensive Tailor Made display of materials to provide inspiration for clients to personalise their own Ferrari.

Ferrari Tailor Made

Ferrari Tailor-Made is the exclusive personalisation programme from Maranello developed specifically for clients wishing to create a truly bespoke car that will be a clear expression of their own unique personalities and tastes.

The Tailor-Made programme continues a longstanding Maranello tradition which began in the 1950s and 60s, a time when clients personalised their cars as a matter of course and enjoyed huge freedom when it came to materials, colours and finish. The result was genuinely unique cars tailored to suit the desires of each individual owner.

That prestigious past has now been revived through a programme that permits owners to specify every last detail of their Ferrari, from the exterior livery colour to the cabin trim, via a completely unprecedented choice of finishes, accessories, materials, treatments and colours.

The client’s personal wishes and aspirations lie at the very heart of the Tailor-Made Programme.

Owners are assisted and guided through the selection process by their own Personal Designer who is charged with guaranteeing that the resulting cars are both unique and consistent with the Ferrari brand and its tradition.

Once the car’s details have been defined, the client can then track all of the various processes involved in its creation, right up until they take delivery. Naturally, they are very welcome to come to Maranello to pick up their car in person if they so wish.

Creativity, research, original materials, superb craftsmanship and attention to detail are the cornerstones of the Tailor-Made programme which offers three collections inspired directly by Ferrari’s DNA: Scuderia, Classica and Inedita.

Scuderia takes its inspiration from Ferrari’s sporting history, offering a choice of racing-derived materials, finishes and liveries.

The Classica collection, on the other hand, provides a modern twist on the styling cues and features of Maranello’s iconic GTs. Lastly, Inedita lives up to its name by introducing an element of experimentation and innovation in terms of styling, colours and materials.

Clients are given enormous freedom in their decision making, being able to select everything from traditional and luxury materials, of the likes of cashmere, to trendy ones like denim, and high-tech, innovative carbon-fibre, available to them.

This allows clients to achieve a level of exclusivity that’s absolutely unprecedented in the automotive sector. In fact, this is the first time many of the materials offered have been adopted and homologated for use in cars.

Clients are invited to Maranello as part of the Tailor-Made programme. There they will find a dedicated area that looks and feels very much like a haute couture studio with a huge array of samples of materials, treatments and colours to browse.

There is also a material scanner that will provide owners with a preview of the final result.
