USA RECALL #8 - SUZUKI MOTORCYCLES - Missed Shifts may Result in Chain Detachment

SUMMARY:

Suzuki Motor of America, Inc. (Suzuki) is recalling certain model year 2011-2014 GSX-R750 and 2009-2014 GSX-R1000 motorcycles. If a gear is missed while upshifting, the strain applied to the drive chain after the next shift may cause the rear axle to move, damaging the left-side drive chain adjuster.

CONSEQUENCE:

If the drive chain adjuster gets damaged, the drive chain may come off, removing power to the rear wheel, and increasing the risk of a crash.

REMEDY:

Suzuki will notify owners, and dealers will replace the left-side chain adjuster with an improved part. The recall began on October 17, 2014. Owners may contact Suzuki customer service at 1-714-572-1490. Suzuki's numbers for this recall are 2A40, 2A41, 2A42 and 2A43.

Suzuki announces latest special edition GSR750Z

Suzuki has announced details of a new special edition GSR750, with the factory-built 'Z' model available in dealerships now.

Derived from the iconic GSX-R750 machine, the special edition GSR750 naked comes in a unique blue and white paint scheme, reminiscent of Suzuki's traditional racing colours, and boasts a Yoshimura R11 silencer.

Other special touches include a belly pan as standard, gold anodised fork outers and red adjusters, blue drive-chain, matt finished handlebars, and red rear suspension spring.

The special edition GSR750Z is available with an RRP of £7,399, with an ABS option available for £7,799, each just £400 more than the standard versions. It is also included in Suzuki's current £750 Deposit Paid offer, with low monthly payment deals available.

GSX-R750 "Slabby" added to Suzuki Vintage Parts.

Suzuki GB has announced the inclusion of the original GSX-R750 as part of its Vintage Parts Programme, with over 1,300 parts still available for the iconic race-replica.

The GSX-R750, first launched in 1985 and widely recognised as the world's first supersport machine, joins the RGV250 and GT750 'Kettle' as part of the programme, which aims to highlight to owners of more classic Suzuki models the range of Genuine parts still available. 

Affectionately known as the 'Slabby', F to H models of the GSX-R750 are included in the Vintage Parts Programme, which features its own bespoke area of the website. As well as listing the parts still available, the website also features a number of downloads, including original parts booklets and service manuals, as well as an area for owners to upload their own images.

It was launched to widespread praise with the RGV250 and since then we've added the GT750. We're now really pleased to be able to add the original GSX-R750.

New Special Edition Suzuki's to tempt the serious biker.

Suzuki GB has announced availability of the special edition Hayabusa, first unveiled at last year's Motorcycle Live, as well as details of a factory-built, special edition GSX-R750, too.

Arriving in UK dealerships this month, the GSX1300RZ Hayabusa features a host of aesthetic highlights, including a special red and black two-tone paint scheme and seat, as well as gold anodised fork caps, adjusters, steering stem nut and chain adjusters. Black Brembo calipers with red lettering complete the look, to help fans of the legendary hyper-bike stand out from the crowd.

Also available in dealers this month is a special edition version of the iconic GSX-R750. Taking similar design cues as the special Hayabusa, the GSX-R750Z boast a special red and black livery and red seat, as well as silver Brembo monobloc calipers with red lettering, dark gold, anodised steering stem nut, chain adjusters and front forks, with red anodised fork caps and adjusters.

Suzuki GB's George Cheeseman commented, "After the positive reception and customer interest at Motorcycle Live last year, we're delighted to be able to announce the availability of the special edition Hayabusa and the details of the GSX-R750. Both models offer something different over the standard version, and with limited numbers available worldwide, they also offer customers the chance to own something special and unique."

 

The GSX-R750Z is available for £9,899, the same RRP as the standard machine, while the GSX1300RZ Hayabusa comes with an RRP of £11,499 . Both models are included in Suzuki's popular Me Me Me campaign, which has been extended until the end of April.

Suzuki at the Manchester Bike Show.

This weekend Suzuki GB with its supported dealer Road and Racing Motorcycles will head North West for the Manchester Bike Show at Event City.

Taking place on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 March, Suzuki will have a good representation of the models available including the brand new V-Strom 1000, which is now available in dealers.

Other new models include the GSX-R750 Yoshimura, Burgman 650 Executive and the Intruder M1800RZ, while current models on display will include the V-Strom 650, GSX1250FA, GSX650F, VanVan125, SV650, SFV650, GSR750 as well as the city-smart Inazuma 250.
