USA SALES JUNE - HONDA/ACURA - The sales are slightly higher in June thanks to SUV's.

• American Honda trucks set new all-time June record, up almost 2%
• Acura Division gains 23.7% in June with both cars & trucks rising in double digits
• Acura TLX nets 12.9% increase as 2018 A-Spec performance model drives traffic
• Acura RDX sets new June mark with 48.3% jump; MDX nets 14% increase
• Honda HR-V sets all-time best June, advancing over 35%
• Accord rises 3.4% and Civic tops 30,000 units as passenger cars remain strong

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported total June sales of 139,793 Honda and Acura vehicles, an increase of 0.8 percent over June 2016. Honda and Acura Division trucks also combined for a new June record, gaining 1.9 percent on sales of 70,067 units, while combined car sales totaled 69,726, down a very slight 0.3 percent. 

Honda Division was down 1.3 percent on sales of 125,755 units, with trucks down 1.6 percent on sales of 60,500 units due to inventory issues, and cars down just 1 percent on sales of 65,255. Acura Division sales gained 23.7 percent in June, on sales of 14,038 vehicles, with trucks jumping 30.9 percent on sales of 9,567, and cars rising 10.6 percent on sales of 4,471 units.

Honda

Honda Division maintained a robust sales pace in June, nearly matching a notably strong June of 2016. Civic and Accord remain at the top of car sales charts, with Accord rising 3.4 percent in June and Civic again posting a strong month of over 30,000 units, boosted by the high performance halo of Type R.  CR-V suffered slightly in June from low supply of higher trim availability, but HR-V set yet another record with its best June ever and Ridgeline gained in double digits, despite inventory issues with all-wheel drive models.

• Continuing to assert its lead in the subcompact SUV segment, HR-V jumped 35.1 percent in June, with 8,872 units sold.
• Accord pushed against the tide again in June, gaining 3.4 percent on sales of 29,791 vehicles, building momentum for the fall debut of the just-announced 2018 Accord.
• With 30,909 Civics sold in June, the #1 selling car in the U.S. combined with #2 Accord to exceed 60,000 units for the month, the top 1-2 passenger car duo in the industry.
• Civic Type R proved popular in its first month, with sales topping 550 units in 2 weeks.
• Odyssey got off to a strong start, with sales of 11,146 units making it #1 in segment.

Acura

Acura had a notably strong month of June driven by renewed focus on product that reflects the brand's Precision Crafted Performance direction. Notably, the recently revitalized TLX and new MDX Sport Hybrid earned considerable positive attention, helping boost the division 23.7 percent for the month.  TLX led Acura car sales with a 10.6 percent increase in June, while RDX led Acura trucks to a 30.9 percent gain.

• The new TLX A-Spec is a sought-after model at Acura dealers, helping overall TLX sales gain 12.9 percent on sales of 3,175 units for the month.
• RDX set a new all-time June record with a 48.3 percent leap on sales of 5,327 units.
• MDX had a strong June, posting 4,210 sales for an increase of 14 percent.
• ILX sales rose 6.9 percent on sales of 1,191 units, its best month of 2017.
• Adding emphasis to Acura's performance path, one of Michael Shank Racing's NSX GT3 cars won at Watkins Glen on Sunday, its second consecutive victory in the IMSA series.

USA SALES MAY - HONDA/ACURA - May saw a slight increase in sales across both brands.

• Honda HR-V sets new all-time monthly record in May, jumping 29 percent
• Honda CR-V exceeds 32,000 sales for the month to post a 9.6 percent increase
• Accord and Civic join CR-V, with each posting more than 31,000 sales for the month
• Acura TLX sales increase 8.4 percent in May after record April sales
• Acura RDX sales gain 12.8 percent in May, pushing Acura trucks to a 7.8 percent rise

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported total May sales of 148,414 Honda and Acura vehicles, an increase of 0.9 percent over May 2016. Honda Division rose 0.7 percent on sales of 134,475 units, with trucks up 5.6 percent on sales of 63,650, and cars down 3.4 percent on sales of 70,825. Acura Division sales were up 2.8 percent in May, on sales of 13,939 vehicles, with trucks increasing 7.8 percent on sales of 9,456, and cars down 6.4 percent on sales of 4,483 units.

Honda

Honda is the only full-line brand experiencing sales growth thus far in 2017, with good reason: Civic and Accord are #1 and 2 in car sales for the year, with each exceeding 31,000 units in May, while HR-V and CR-V are off to a record start on the truck side. 

HR-V set a new all-time monthly record in May. Civic, Accord and CR-V again topped 30,000 units in May – seeking to top a combined annual total surpassing a million units for the 5th straight year. The Honda Clarity Fuel Cell is exceeding expectations as it opens new ground in the emerging fuel cell vehicle market.

• Sales of the 10th generation Honda Civic have now exceeded 500,000 units in just the 19 months since the current model went on sale in November 2015. With more than 31,000 sales in May, Civic continues as the best-selling passenger car in America on a retail basis thus far in 2017. 
• Accord posted a stellar month, bucking the light truck trend with an increase of 5.0 percent on sales of 33,547 to lead Honda car sales in May.
• HR-V celebrated taking sales leadership in the subcompact SUV segment by setting a new all-time sales record in May, with a gain of 29 percent on sales of 9,533 units.
• CR-V gained 9.6 percent for the month on sales of 32,186, further cementing its SUV sales leadership in 2017.

Acura

Acura continues to show renewed momentum in the second quarter as TLX—the brand's best selling sedan—gained ground again in May after a record-setting April. Sales of Acura's sporty RDX also surged in May, joined by strong sales of MDX to push Acura trucks ahead of last year. Overall, the Acura division showed an increase of 2.8 percent on sales of 13,939 vehicles. 

• TLX gained 8.4 percent in May on sales of 3,508 units, creating momentum for the refreshed 2018 TLX hitting dealer showrooms across the U.S. today. 
• RDX enjoyed another strong month in a very competitive segment, rising 12.8 percent on sales of 5,149 in May.
• MDX sales were up 2.4 percent in May with 4,307 units sold, just as the company began dual sourcing production for the MDX at the company's East Liberty Plant in Ohio.
• Acura trucks were up 7.8 percent overall on sales of 9,456 units.

USA SALES APRIL - HONDA/ACURA - Both brands dip on the month, like many other brands.

• Honda Division sales up 1.2 percent for first four months of 2017
• CR-V posts fifth straight record month, up 26.6 percent for the year
• HR-V sets new April record, up 25.5 percent for the year
• Civic and Accord sales remain strong with retail customers
• Acura TLX sales jump 39.1 percent in April

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported April sales of 138,386 Honda and Acura vehicles, a decrease of 7.0 percent from year-ago results. The Honda Division saw a decrease of 6.3 percent on sales of 124,254 vehicles, while Honda trucks were up year-over-year, posting a 1.2 percent gain on sales of 61,114 units. Acura Division sales of 14,132 cars and SUVs were up from last month and were led by the TLX sedan with a 39.1 percent jump in April versus year-ago results.  

Honda

With strong truck sales and sustained, steady demand for cars continuing in April, Honda Division sales grew 1.2 percent for the first four months of 2017. The Honda CR-V and HR-V continued their record-setting ways, both posting record April sales, as the Ridgeline pickup also posted solid April results of 3,186 units, and Pilot continued to experience strong demand in the face of constrained supplies.

Despite the market shift toward SUVs, Honda saw continued strong retail demand for cars, with Fit recording sales of 4,871 units, Accord posting sales of 26,938 units, and Civic again topping the 31,000 mark, with virtually all sales coming from individual, retail car buyers.

• Honda trucks had a best-ever April, gaining 1.2 percent on sales of 61,114 units
• CR-V led truck gains with an April record of 32,671 vehicles, up 13 percent
• HR-V set a new April record, rising 22.4 percent on sales of 8,527

Acura

Acura division sales of 14,132 units were led by TLX, which posted its best month since October 2015 on sales of 5,258 units, up 39.1 percent from last April, following a strong first-quarter marketing campaign.  Next month TLX will receive an additional boost with the launch of the significantly redesigned 2018 model, with three distinct variants including a new V6-powered A-Spec model, adding aggressive new styling to the performance luxury sedan.   

• TLX recorded its best-ever April and second best month ever on sales of 5,258 units, up 39.1 percent over last year
• Acura light truck sales remained strong with MDX and RDX combining for sales of over 7,845 units, with the launch of the new 2017 MDX Sport Hybrid expected to boost sales in the months ahead.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported total March sales of 137,227 Honda and Acura vehicles, a decrease of 0.7 percent over March 2016. Honda Division was up 1.8 percent on sales of 125,531 units while Honda trucks set a new March record, gaining 12.6 percent on sales of 61,975. 

Acura Division sales were down 21.2 percent in March, on sales of 11,696 vehicles.

Honda

Led by trucks with a record month and bolstered by resilient car sales, Honda Division gained 1.8 percent in March. CR-V and HR-V continued their hot streaks, both blowing double-digit holes in their own March records while Ridgeline also made a notable contribution. 

On the passenger car side, Fit was up 6.1 percent while Civic topped 31,000 sales. Accord posted a strong March with 26,824 new buyers.

Acura

Strong sales of Acura trucks in March continued to set the pace for the Acura brand, even as the company prepared to launch the MDX Sport Hybrid—the third and newest installment of the brand’s high-performance Sport Hybrid technology—along with the Acura NSX supercar and RLX Sport Hybrid model. The new MDX is the latest salvo in the evolving Acura lineup prioritizing performance through both powertrain and design. And on April 11, a refreshed and significantly enhanced 2018 TLX will be revealed in New York, bringing the Acura Precision Concept-inspired design language to the sedan lineup. 

• MDX sales totaled 4,141 units in March, up 1.3 percent over 2016

USA SALES FEBRUARY - HONDA/ACURA - The records keep tumbling for the two brands.

• American Honda continues record pace in February for total vehicle and truck sales
• Honda CR-V raises the bar again, breaking February record with a 26.3 percent jump
• Honda HR-V also nets a February record, gaining 28.6 percent
• Acura RDX has its best-ever February, rising 6.1 percent as it continues to pace division

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported total February sales of 121,686 Honda and Acura vehicles, an increase of 2.3 percent over February 2016 and a new record for the month. 

American Honda trucks also set a February record, rising 12.2 percent on sales of 63,989. 

Total Honda Division sales as well as Honda truck sales also set new February marks, with total Honda Division sales gaining 4.3 percent on sales of 110,822 and trucks up 15.3 percent on sales of 56,419 units. 

Acura Division sales were down 14.9 percent, with 10,864 vehicles sold in February.

Honda

The Honda Division continued its record sales streak into the second month of the year, gaining 4.3 percent on sales of 110.882 units to set a new February benchmark. CR-V and HR-V repeated strong January performances, driving Honda trucks to a February record as well. The Fit also gained in February while Civic and Accord held their own in a market tilting toward trucks.

• Honda trucks set a new benchmark in February, gaining 15.3 percent on sales of 56,419.
• CR-V and HR-V drove truck sales, both setting new February marks; CR-V sales were up 26.3 percent on sales of 31,898, and HR-V up 28.6 percent with 6,354 units sold.  
• Accord and Civic continue to swim against the tide, with sales cresting 23,000 and 27,000 units, respectively.

Acura

Acura sales continued recent trends, with the RDX enjoying its best-ever February. NSX also remained steady, showing no signs of the winter doldrums that can affect ultra-performance cars. And after a strong first outing at Daytona in January, the NSX GT3 racecar goes to the legendary 12 Hours of Sebring in search of endurance racing glory later this month. 

• Acura's popular RDX set a new February record, gaining 6.1 percent on sales of 4,029 vehicles.
• Continuing a steady production and sales pace, 46 NSX supercars were sold in February.

USA SALES JANUARY - HONDA/ACURA - Honda sets a new record for January, Acura was down though.

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported total January sales of 106,380 Honda and Acura vehicles, an increase of 5.9 percent over January 2016 and a new record for the month. 

Total Honda Division sales as well as Honda truck sales also set new January records, with total Division sales rising 7.7 percent on sales of 97,178 and trucks up 30.2 percent on sales of 51,337 units. 

Acura Division sales totaled 9,202 vehicles in January, a decrease of 10.2 percent.

Honda

After posting a 3rd consecutive sales record in 2016, the Honda Division started 2017 with yet more monthly records, gaining 7.7 percent as cars and trucks continued to sell strongly. CR-V and HR-V led the way in January, pushing Honda trucks to another new record for the month.

• Honda Division sets new January mark, rising 7.7 percent on sales of 97,178 units.
• Honda trucks also set a new January record, jumping 30.2 percent on sales of 51,337.
• CR-V smashed its previous January best, gaining 52.5 percent on sales of 29,287 vehicles.  
• HR-V sales also gained sharply, rising to 5,689 in January for a gain of 36.2 percent versus last year.
• Accord and Fit sales remained strong in January.

"Our conservative approach to growth was criticized when the industry was growing faster but it is clearly paying dividends now as industry sales are flattening," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. Acura

Acura brand sales remained fairly steady in January, with Acura light trucks demonstrating continued strength as RDX gained ground and MDX maintained a solid pace, even before dual sourcing of Acura's three-row luxury SUV begins this spring in Ohio, promising increased supply. 

• RDX sales were up 3.2 percent for the month, with 3,202 vehicles sold in January.
• NSX notched sales of 50 units for the month.

"In a month marked by major storms across the country, Acura maintained a steady pace with trucks leading the way," said Jon Ikeda, vice president and general manager of the Acura division. "And a strong showing of the Acura NSX GT3 in its debut at Daytona last weekend just adds to the momentum building around the Acura brand."

END OF YEAR - HONDA/ACURA - Combined sales break all time record for sales for the two brands.

• Honda & Acura vehicles combined to break all-time annual sales record, up 6.4 percent over last year's record while combined trucks captured new annual and monthly records, rising 5.6 percent for the year and 17.4 percent in December
• Honda Division sales set new annual total vehicle record: up 4.8 percent over last year's record, plus all-time best monthly truck sales, gaining 19 percent over the 2015 record

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported an all-time annual sales record of 1,637,942 Honda and Acura vehicles for 2016, an increase of 3.2 percent to eclipse the company's previous best set in 2015. AHM also set new annual and monthly total truck sales records, gaining 5.6 percent on sales of 813,243 units for the year, and 17.4 percent in December on sales of 85,568. 

Honda Division sales also set a new annual record, rising 4.8 percent on sales of 1,476,582 vehicles in 2016, as well as a new December record, gaining 6.9 percent on sales of 143,329 units. 

Honda trucks set new all-time best annual and monthly marks, gaining 6.7 percent on sales of 705,387 for the year, and 19 percent on sales of 73,380 for December. Honda cars were up 3.1 percent for the year on sales of 771,195 units. 

Acura car and truck sales totaled 17,148 in December, up 1.9 percent over the same month last year. Acura total annual sales reached 161,360 in 2016, down 8.9 percent for the year. However, Acura trucks set a new all-time monthly record in December, gaining 8.9 percent on sales of 12,188 vehicles.

Honda

The Honda Division recorded new all-time and monthly records while two core models set all-time annual and a monthly record for the Honda Division. Further, the Civic, Accord and CR-V combined to easily surpass 1 million units in 2016 for the 4th consecutive year, and a December sales flourish for the Ridgeline and the recently-released Civic Hatchback made for an exciting close of a successful year.   

• Honda Division sales set a new annual total vehicle record, up 4.8 percent over last year's record on sales of 1,476,582.
• Honda trucks also set a new annual mark, breaking the 2015 record with an increase of 6.7 percent on sales of 705,387 for the year, while setting a new all-time best monthly record, jumping 19 percent on sales of 73,380 units in December.
• CR-V, America's best-selling SUV, set new all-time annual and monthly records: with sales for the year at 357,335, a 3.4 percent gain, and December sales of 37,778 for a 21.1 percent leap to grab its best month in history. CR-V sales got an end-of-year boost as the all-new 2017 model went on sale in the last 10 days of December.
• The new Ridgeline had its best sales month since its debut last spring, with 4,085 units sold in December.
• With Civic setting an all-time annual sales mark of 366,927 (up 9.4 percent) the new Civic Hatchback made a splash in December, contributing over 4,000 sales for the month.
• HR-V sales jumped dramatically in 2016, gaining 95.5 percent over 2015 on sales of 82,041 units. HR-V was also up 90.7 percent in December on sales of 9,034 vehicles.

Acura

Acura Division sales in December topped 2015 with positive contributions from both cars and trucks. RDX had a best-ever year and month, while MDX enjoyed its best sales month of 2016, pushing Acura trucks to a new all-time record month. Despite declining luxury sedan sales in the U.S., TLX sales were up and RLX made a notable gain in December. Continuing its steady production ramp up, the second-generation NSX supercar had its best month to date.

• Acura trucks recorded best-ever monthly sales, gaining 8.9 percent on sales of 12,188 units.
• Total Acura truck sales exceeded 100,000 units for the third year in a row.
• RDX set a new all-time monthly sales record, jumping 20.3 percent on sales of 5,945 vehicles, as well as a new annual benchmark, rising 2.6 percent on sales of 52,361 units.
• MDX sales in 2016 topped 50,000 units for the fifth straight year, helping extend its reign as the all-time best-selling luxury three-row SUV in America.
• Acura sold 68 NSX supercars in December, its best month since sales began last spring.
