USA - The New Nissan Maxima sedan is available now, crammed full of tech and luxury.

Dramatically styled "4-Door Sports Car" lands in Nissan showrooms with 300 horsepower, jet fighter-inspired interior and $32,410 starting M.S.R.P.*

The wait is over. After its buzz-generating debut at the recent New York International Auto Show, the 2016 Maxima has arrived at Nissan dealerships nationwide. As Nissan's flagship sedan, the all-new eighth-generation design takes the company's best-known nameplate into new territory with its boldest styling, most powerful engine and highest level of available safety and connected technology features yet.

"Following on the highly successful launch of the all-new Nissan Murano, the new 2016 Maxima is hitting showrooms with tremendous momentum," said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Sales & Marketing, Parts & Service, U.S.A, Nissan North America, Inc.

"With its winning combination of style, technology and driving excitement, we see it appealing to both the large number of previous Maxima owners and buyers considering vehicles from luxury brands. We've proven Maxima can go tire-to-tire on the track. We think we can do it in the showroom as well."

A 2016 Nissan Maxima SR recently posted the lowest average lap time in independent third-party testing at Buttonwillow Raceway against the 2015 Acura TLX 3.5 (FWD) with Technology Package, 2015 Audi A4 2.0T quattro® Premium Plus Tiptronic and 2015 BMW 328i sedan**.

Along with burnishing its longstanding reputation as the "4-Door Sports Car," the new 2016 Maxima embodies the latest Nissan design language and projects a distinctive upscale look through its unique combination of a lower profile and a wide stance, bold front end, Nissan signature V-Motion grille and floating roof appearance. The new Maxima also features a premium-crafted interior, anchored by a command central fighter jet-inspired driver's cockpit, that rivals luxury vehicles.

All 2016 Maximas feature a revised 300-horsepower 3.5-liter VQ-series V6 engine and new performance-oriented Xtronic transmission. The comprehensive re-engineering effort also results in a 15 percent increase (over the previous generation Maxima) in highway fuel economy to 30 miles per gallon***.

Maxima's next-generation technology features include standard NissanConnectSM with navigation and available 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system, NissanConnectSM Services powered by SiriusXM® (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately) and Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD).

The 2016 Maxima also offers an extensive range of available safety, security and driving aids, including Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB), Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA), Blind Spot Warning (BSW) and Driver Attention Alert (DAA) system****.

The 2016 Maxima is available in five well-equipped models (all equipment is grade standard, no available options): Maxima S, SV, SL, SR and Platinum. It is assembled in Smyrna, Tennessee, with engines assembled in Decherd, Tennessee.

The new Maxima starts with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) of $32,410 for Maxima S. The Maxima SV is $34,390, while the Maxima SL is $36,890. The sporty Maxima SR is priced at $37,670 and the top-of-the-line Maxima Platinum is $39,860.

  • Brings concept car-like styling to the showroom with V-Motion front end, LED boomerang lights and unique floating roof
  • "Social lounge" interior offers premium features and advanced, purposeful technology
Nissan dealers across the country have something a little extra to dress up their showrooms this December beyond the usual oversized red bows and ribbons – the all-new 2015 Nissan Murano. The halo vehicle for Nissan's expanding range of bold crossovers and SUVs, the bold new Murano design projects a sense of refined intensity, creating an immediate "wow" response.

"Nissan dealers have been clamoring for the new Murano ever since the design was previewed in the futuristic Nissan Resonance Concept," said Derrick Hatami, vice president, Sales - U.S., Nissan North America, Inc. "Now that Murano has arrived in their showrooms, there's another great reason to celebrate the holiday season."

The 2015 Murano is offered in four trim levels – S, SV, SL and Platinum – and in a choice of front-wheel or all-wheel drive. The starting Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the Murano S FWD is $29,560 USD, while the top-of-the-line Murano Platinum AWD is priced at $40,600 USD (full pricing is available at NissanNews.com).

Every 2015 Murano comes with a standard 260-horsepower 3.5-liter DOHC V6 connected to an advanced Xtronic transmission. Fuel economy has increased 20 percent for combined mpg from the previous generation and is rated at 21/28/24 mpg city/highway/combined for both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive models.

Murano's new magnetic exterior design includes its dramatic V-motion front end, LED boomerang lights and the unique floating roof – which utilizes prominent glass areas and D-pillars that appear disconnected from the roof that help visually lighten the cabin appearance. The sleek, aerodynamic styling offers a low coefficient of drag of just 0.31, without compromising cargo or passenger space. LED Signature lights and LED taillights are standard on all 2015 Murano models.

The breakthrough exterior design carries into the interior, which offers an engaging social lounge feel through features such as the refined instrument panel, low center console, advanced Zero Gravity front and outboard rear seating, and the airy atmosphere created by the large windows and oversized Power Panoramic Moonroof.

The Murano interior offers best-in-class** total interior volume of 147.7 cubic feet and best-in-class cargo** volume (with seats up) of 39.6 cubic feet.

Available technology features include NissanConnectSM with Navigation and Mobile Apps, 8-inch color display with multi-touch control, Around View® Monitor, 8-way power driver's seat with power lumbar support, SiriusXM® Satellite Radio (SiriusXM subscription required, sold separately), Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Ignition, iPod® interface, 11-speaker Bose® premium audio system (including dual subwoofers), and Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System with streaming audio.

Available safety and security systems include Around View® Monitor (AVM) with Moving Object Detection (MOD), Blind Spot Warning (BSW), Predictive Forward Collision Warning (PFCW), Forward Emergency Braking (FEB) and a new Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) system that utilizes radar sensors (located in the rear) that can help warn you while backing up of a moving vehicle you may not see approaching from either side.

The all-new 2015 Murano is assembled in Canton, Mississippi.

  • All-new 2015 Nissan Murano set to arrive December 5th at Nissan dealers nationwide, with a starting M.S.R.P.* of $29,560
  • New 2015 Nissan JUKE, with revised styling and enhanced standard content, shown for first time in North America, goes on sale today
  • New JUKE "Color Studio" personalization program announced – offers unique way to customize Nissan's popular sport cross with a choice of 12 accessories in a range of 8 colors
  • Press conference also highlights Nissan's ongoing support of the Heisman Trophy Trust's charitable efforts
Nissan brought a splash of brass and color to the Los Angeles Auto Show today during a press conference featuring the debut of two new vehicles, the launch of a unique vehicle personalization program and an appearance by local Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Allen.

Sharing center stage at the Nissan display were the all-new 2015 Nissan Murano crossover, making its official debut in full production trim, and the revised Nissan JUKE sport cross.

"While Murano has always stood out from ordinary crossovers with its refined yet daring and futuristic design, this new third-generation design kicks it up tremendously with concept car-like styling, a premium interior and advanced, purposeful technology," said Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S., Nissan North America, Inc.

"Less than two years ago this vehicle was turning heads at auto shows as the Resonance Concept.

In just a few weeks from now, buyers will be able to drive this stunning all-new Murano home."

The new 2015 Nissan JUKE sport cross features a revised exterior and enhanced standard equipment – with a starting M.S.R.P.* announced today of $20,250. While keeping its same dimensions and aggressive stance as previous years, the 2015 JUKE offers a fresh front end look with its new projector beam headlights and LED front Signature Accent Lamps, while the redesigned rear fascia features a more aggressive shape to match the revised boomerang taillights with LED accents.

New standard JUKE features include Nissan Intelligent Key® with Push Button Start, RearView Monitor and NissanConnectSM with Mobile Apps, Bluetooth® Hands-free Phone System, Streaming audio via Bluetooth®, and Hands-free Text Messaging Assistant.

Three new exterior colors are offered for 2015 – Super Black and hard-to-ignore Solar Yellow and Cosmic Blue.
"JUKE owners have always enjoyed standing out from the crowd and getting noticed," said Diaz. "And now we're adding an entirely new dimension of personalization with the unique JUKE ‘Color Studio' program. Color changes everything."

The JUKE "Color Studio" gives JUKE buyers and owners the ability to personalize both the exterior and interior with a range of "color packs" to change the look and feel of the vehicle. For example, new accessory 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels are available with color inserts to match or contrast the body color.

Special color accents can also be applied to the outside rearview mirror caps, side sills, rear roof spoiler and door handles. Interior color packs will be offered for the door trim and other elements. Eight colors are available – including red, white, black, yellow, electric blue and purple – and a total of 12 accessories. There was one last piece of priceless hardware on display during today's event, the Heisman Memorial Trophy, which annually recognizes the outstanding college football player whose performance best exhibits the pursuit of excellence with integrity.

Marcus Allen, the 1981 Heisman Trophy winner from the University of Southern California, joined Diaz on stage to acknowledge Nissan's ongoing support of the Heisman Trust's year-round community support and charitable efforts. Nissan also features past Heisman Trophy winners in its popular "Heisman House" and "Heisman House Tour" marketing campaigns. The 2014 Heisman Trophy will be presented December 13th in New York City.

"Nissan is proud to partner with the Heisman Trust in their longstanding charity efforts and looks forward to continuing our association for many years to come," added Diaz.
