USA - At long last the Volvo V90 Wagon has appeared in the USA with its debut at the NAIAS.

The Volvo V90 is coming to the United States in 2017 and builds on over 60 years of wagon heritage that started with the Volvo Duett. The V90 will make its North American debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and will be available as a model year 2018 later this year.
“Wagons are an important part of Volvo’s history” said Lex Kerssemakers, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA, “after successfully launching the XC90 SUV, S90 sedan and most recently V90 Cross Country, we complete our 90 range with the introduction of our new luxury wagon.”
The V90 has received international praise for its combination of style and utility. Based on the new Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) and the new Volvo design language, the V90 will share interior design attributes with the award-winning XC90, such as the 12” Sensus Connect Touchscreen, open-pore wood trim and Nappa leather. Like the S90 the V90, drivers can expect the feeling of relaxed confidence and sedan-like driving dynamics with the storage capability of a crossover.
The V90 will be available with both T5 FWD and T6 AWD powertrains in either Inscription or R-Design trim. To provide a full range of options and personalization, the V90 will be sold exclusively as custom order vehicles starting soon via Volvo’s Online Concierge or Overseas Delivery. Both options offer unique buying experiences. Vehicles will be delivered to customers in summer 2017.
"The V90 is a fantastic vehicle for the true wagon enthusiast. As we now introduce the most luxurious wagon ever, we choose to do so giving our customers a range of personalized customer order production alternatives like the Volvo online concierge and Overseas Delivery. This way we provide the fullest range of options to wagon lovers" said Kerssemakers.
With Volvo Concierge, customers can choose the vehicle’s features online with a Volvo representative, who will personally guide customers through the ordering process. The vehicle will be delivered to their local Volvo retailer where customers can complete the purchase.  With Overseas Delivery, customers can pick the color, interior, trim and engine with their Volvo retailer and receive two paid airline tickets and hotel accommodations to pick up the vehicle at Volvo’s Torslanda, Sweden factory.
“Luxury buyers seek to fully customize their vehicle while enjoying a personalized experience,” said Bodil Eriksson, Vice President, Product, Marketing and Communication. “The Volvo V90 attracts buyers who are determined to oversee every detail and customer order production via Concierge allows them to realize this.”
Currently, the S90 sedan, XC90 Excellence and S60 and V60 Polestar can be ordered through Volvo Concierge. The V90 wagon is the first carline exclusively available through Volvo Concierge or Overseas Delivery. Pricing and trim details will be announced next month.
With the debut of the V90 wagon at NAIAS, it will mark the first time the entire Volvo 90 series is shown together in its entirety in North America: the XC90 SUV, S90 sedan and V90 Cross Country

Cadillac joins in the Hybrid game with the new CT6 prestige Sedan adding a possible 65 MPGe and 30 miles electric range.

  • Expected rating of 65 MPGe
  • Exhilarating performance: 0-60 mph in 5.2 seconds
Cadillac today announced the first-ever 2017 CT6 Plug-In Hybrid prestige sedan will go on sale in the spring of 2017, with a total driving range of more than 400 miles.
Advanced plug-in hybrid technology enables the luxury sedan to reward drivers with environmentally conscious driving without compromising on performance.
The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid system is designed to provide responsive, all-electric driving for most daily commutes, while maximizing fuel efficiency by providing blended power from the engine and battery at higher speeds and higher loads.

All-electric range for the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is an estimated 30 miles. However, the car’s combination of efficient engine and battery power enables drivers the freedom of more than 400 miles of total driving range, with no requirement to find charging stations along the way. Thanks to the advanced propulsion system, the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid removes all range anxiety for our customers.
“The CT6 is a technological showcase throughout, and by far the lightest car in its class, making it an ideal platform for electrification,” said Cadillac President Johan de Nysschen. “In the CT6, Cadillac presents a new formula for prestige luxury. The advanced Plug-In Hybrid system is a key addition, providing a combination of exceptional fuel economy, crisp acceleration and strong electric-driving range.”
Cadillac’s prestige plug-in hybrid entry achieves the same zero to 60 mph performance as its V6-powered competitors, while achieving roughly twice the full EV range and MPGe figures.
The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid is expected to have fuel economy estimated at 65 MPGe. Miles per gallon equivalence – MPGe – compares energy consumption of plug-in electric vehicles and other advanced technology vehicles with the fuel economy of conventional internal combustion vehicles in miles per U.S. gallon.
The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid combines an all-new rear wheel drive electric variable transmission to provide the smooth, powerful acceleration expected from a driver’s car. The two-motor EVT system combines with the 2.0-liter turbocharged four- cylinder gas engine to produce an estimated total system power of 335 hp (250 kW) and 432 lb-ft (586 Nm) of torque. This helps propel the vehicle from a zero to 60 mph in an estimated 5.2 seconds.
Each electric motor produces 100 hp (74.5 kW) of power. On electric power only, the car is capable of approximately 30 miles of driving range and a top speed of 78 mph, with the additional power of the engine adding hundreds of miles of total range and a top speed of 150 mph on a track.
The CT6 Plug-In Hybrid launches in North America in the spring of 2017, starting in the U.S. at $75,095 plus a $995 destination freight charge before any applicable electric vehicle tax incentives. In the U.S. market, the CT6 Plug-In Hybrid will be offered as its own unique package within the CT6 product line, with pricing and equipment comparable to the existing Premium Luxury model (second highest within in the model range). The Plug-In model includes numerous optional equipment as standard, such as a Rear Seat Infotainment system, Enhanced Night Vision and Rear Camera mirror.

USA - Cadillac adds a new Carbon Black Sport package to the CTS and ATS Sedan and Coupe models.

PGRADES REFLECT AND COMPLEMENT CADILLAC’S PRODUCT EXPANSION
Cadillac’s ATS and CTS product lines receive key refinements for 2017, including new, more streamlined trim levels that further emphasize the cars’ class-leading driving dynamics.
Renamed for consistency across the Cadillac showroom, the new trim levels for Cadillac ATS sedans and coupes – ATS, Luxury, Premium Luxury and Premium Performance – and Cadillac CTS sedans – CTS, Luxury, Premium Luxury, V-Sport and V-Sport Premium – move ATS and CTS more in line with two recently launched Cadillac entries, the first-ever Cadillac CT6 prestige sedan and first-ever Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover.

2017 Cadillac ATS and CTS models receive a Carbon Black sport package, two new exterior colors and new wheels that complement the bold, unmistakably Cadillac signature exterior and interior designs.
Additional upgrades and enhancements for the Cadillac CUE infotainment system include new standard technologies like the myCadillac Mobile App, Teen Driver and Cadillac Collection.
The 2017 Cadillac ATS Turbo Sedan, the fastest, most powerful turbo-four luxury sedan in its class, becomes the entry point to the Cadillac ATS Sedan and Coupe family. Cadillac CUE – the centerpiece of the ATS’ comprehensive collection of technologies, including Apple CarPlay and Android Auto advanced smartphone integration and available 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot – is now standard for 2017 ATS Sedans and Coupe models, making the ATS one of the most connected cars in the segment.
The 2017 Cadillac CTS features a new grille design in the front fascia and an all-new rear fascia with vertical exhaust orientation and valence panel changes.
The front fascia in the CTS V-Sport and CTS-V remains unchanged. Rear Camera Mirror, the industry’s first application of full-display rearview mirror technology that debuted in the 2016 Cadillac CT6 prestige sedan, is available in Cadillac CTS models in 2017.
The Cadillac ATS product line is Cadillac’s most compact and sporty entry, setting into motion the current era of Cadillac driver’s cars offering exhilarating performance. Originally introduced as a 2013 model, ATS won both the North American Car of the Year and Esquire Car of the Year award that year.
Built on an ultra-rigid, rear-wheel-drive chassis that also underpins the larger Cadillac CTS, the ATS line added a dynamic Coupe model in 2015.  The high-performance ATS-V Sedan and Coupe — the smallest and lightest V-Series models ever — were added in 2016.
The Cadillac CTS Sedan, which began its third generation in 2014, has been named a Car and Driver “10 Best” for three years in a row and received Motor Trend’s 2014 Car of the Year award.
Built on the same ultra-rigid, rear-wheel-drive chassis that underpins the smaller Cadillac ATS Sedan and Coupe models, the CTS lineup included a performance CTS V-Sport model for the first time in 2014 and added the much-anticipated third generation, high-performance CTS-V super sedan in 2016.
The 2017 Cadillac product refinements follow and complement Cadillac’s product expansion, which debuted with the all-new Cadillac CT6 prestige sedan and the all-new Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover.
