Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

The One Millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata will be making one last stop in the USA before heading off to the next port of call.

Fans of World’s Best-Selling Roadster Have One Last Opportunity to Sign the Milestone MX-5 Before It Heads Overseas
The one-millionth Mazda MX-5 Miata has traveled throughout much of the world this year, already reaching fans all over the U.S. and Canada. Mazda North American Operations (MNAO) is proud to announce that it will be making one last tour stop at the Los Angeles Auto Show from November 18-27.
“We have been fortunate to have the one-millionth MX-5 on our shores since August, giving enthusiasts from the U.S. and around the world the opportunity to be a part of both Mazda history and a milestone for the automotive industry,” said Robert Davis, senior VP, U.S. Operations, MNAO.
“This MX-5 shows just how far we’ve come—from a little company with big ideas to a torchbearer for defying convention and keeping the thrill of driving alive for everyone.”
Following MX-5 being awarded as the only vehicle ever named World Car of the Year and World Car Design of the Year concurrently, excitement further swelled when Mazda Motor Corporation announced that the one-millionth MX-5 had been produced on April 22, 2016. That car traveled throughout Japan and Europe during the spring and summer and reached the U.S. in August, where it embarked on the “Millionth Miata Celebration Tour.”
Its first North American stop was in Monterey, California, at the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion. It was then shipped to the East Coast, starting in Boston, and headed to the Midwest and through the South and through the Gulf region to end its U.S. tour at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for Miatas at Mazda Raceway.
Following Miatas at Mazda Raceway, the MX-5 traveled to Mazda Canada’s headquarters in Richmond Hill, Ontario, where it gathered another 350 signatures from owners, enthusiasts and employees.
In all, more than 4,000 people in North America have autographed the one-millionth MX-5. Mazda executives, engineers and employees have signed in its trunk and underneath its hood. Many engineers have signed parts they helped develop on the fourth-generation roadster, such as suspension arms and on the engine.
For its last hurrah in the U.S., the one-millionth MX-5—a 1.5-liter, right-hand-drive, Japanese-spec model—will be placed in the Ride & Drive area outside the Los Angeles Convention Center, where those who register to test-drive Mazda vehicles on public days will have the opportunity to sign the car. Signing will take place during normal auto show hours until all signature spots are filled but the 1,920 spots allocated for its final tour stops in Australia and New Zealand.
Following its visit to New Zealand next February, the one-millionth MX-5 will stay on permanent exhibit in the Mazda Museum in Hiroshima, Japan.

The Millionth landmark MX-5 will make its way to 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed as part of a world tour.

  • The one-millionth Mazda MX-5 rolled off the assembly line in Hiroshima on the 22nd April 2016.
  • This landmark MX-5 will make its way to 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed as part of a world tour.
  • Other MX-5 highlights at Goodwood include the Speedster and Spyder MX-5 concept cars.
Mazda has produced the one-millionth MX-5. This landmark car was built at Ujina Plant No.1 in Hiroshima on the 22nd April.  The one millionth MX-5 rolled down the line 27 years after Mazda began manufacturing this iconic roadster, which still holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time.

“From the first generation through to today’s fourth-generation model, the reason we have been able to continue selling the MX-5 all these years is due to the strong support of fans around the world,” said Mazda Motor Corporation Representative Director, President and CEO Masamichi Kogai.
“Mazda was founded in Hiroshima 96 years ago, and as we move toward our centennial year we will continue offering customers the joy of driving with this model, which has become a symbol of our brand. Mazda aims to create a special bond with customers and become a ‘one-and-only’ brand they will choose again and again.”
To celebrate the history of the MX-5 and to thank fans and owners the world over, the one- millionth car will appear at fan events around the globe, including the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Joining the one-millionth MX-5 in Sussex this summer will be the Mazda MX-5 Speedster and Spyder concept cars. Having wowed sports car fans at the 2015 SEMA Tuning Show in Las Vegas, the Goodwood Festival of Speed will be the first time these unique MX-5 based concepts will be seen outside of North America.
Accentuating the MX-5’s lightweight fun-to-drive ethos, the Speedster and Spyder take this doctrine even further with their focus on open air driving and minimalist design. Inspired by vintage roadsters these design concepts each offer are a unique take on the award-winning all-new Mazda MX-5.  Pared back to the bare essentials, the Speedster has a wind deflector in place of a windscreen, and with carbon fibre doors and seats, tips the scales at just 943kg.
With custom 16-inch RAYS alloy wheels and 30mm lower suspension, this racy MX-5 concept will be taking to the famous Goodwood hill in the First Glance run. Featuring a clever bikini top roof, stunning Mercury Silver paint and a full-grain leather interior, the Spyder emphasises the joy and style of open-air motoring and will be on show for MX-5 fans at Goodwood to enjoy.
Even better, in addition to seeing this trio of special MX-5s, attendees at the Moving Motor Show will be able to experience the World Car of the Year winning all-new Mazda MX-5 on the legendary Goodwood hillclimb on Thursday 23rd June.
Jeremy Thomson, Mazda Motors UK Managing Director “The MX-5 sits at the heart of Mazda’s brand and it embodies all that is great about our cars. Its fun to drive character has strengthened the bond between Mazda and its customers for more than a quarter of a century. The production of the one-millionth MX-5 is a landmark and it’s great that we can celebrate this with MX-5 owners and fans at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Eagle announces the third in their trilogy of special edition Jaguar E-Types - the new Eagle Spyder GT.

  • Eagle announces the third in their trilogy of special edition Jaguar E-Types - the new Eagle Spyder GT.
  • The Spyder GT combines the style and dynamics of the celebrated Eagle Speedster with the high performance touring capability of the Eagle Low Drag GT- and incorporates a folding roof for practicality.
  • Completely bespoke with extensive customer options, the few produced will be the most exclusive hand built cars in the world.
Eagle has focused for over thirty years to refine, develop and deliver exceptional engineering for the Jaguar E-Type while remaining true to the spirit of this extraordinary car.
The Eagle E-Type has often been described as ‘the finest hand-built car in the world’ and the reaction of the world’s press to the successive ‘special edition’ Jaguar E-Types developed in-house at Eagle has been rapturous.

Leading the way was the Eagle Speedster, which was developed from a client request and then feted around the world. It has been the subject of countless magazine features and covers, articles in national newspapers and also starred on Top Gear in 2011 where Jeremy Clarkson described it thus:
“I think this, by a long way, is the most beautiful car I have ever seen. It might actually be the most beautiful thing I have ever seen.”
The Eagle Low Drag GT - inspired by Malcolm Sayer’ s exquisite Low Drag Coupe developed for Jaguar in1961 - followed soon after. International press coverage and ecstatic reviews again followed, culminating with a feature on BBC’ s Top Gear in 2015.
Chris Evans described the reactions of onlookers in a national newspaper feature as follows:
“It doesn’t so much turn heads as threaten to snap them clean off the necks of their owners.”
Now these two exceptional E-Types are joined by the third in the trilogy - the Eagle Spyder GT.
With the poise and performance of the Low Drag GT and the exquisite styling of the Speedster, the Spyder GT’ s raked windscreen and folding roof offer the best of both worlds – whatever the weather.

An exotic all-aluminium E-Type lightweight roadster based around an original 1960’ s classic, every line and detail is honed to perfection and performance is greatly enhanced. Each of the very few produced will have an entirely bespoke specification dependent of the specific desires of each client.
Paul Brace, Design Director at Eagle comments:
“Development of the Spyder GT began soon after the launch of the Speedster in 2011 and, like everything we produce, we wanted to ensure that we got as close to perfection as humanly possible.
"We’re renowned for being perfectionists and our clients are too - so we took the time to develop and deliver an E-Type that stands proud alongside the Speedster and the Low Drag GT.”
Henry Pearman, Eagle Founder & MD comments:
“Like many, my love of the E-Type set hold at a very young age and has become a lifetime's dedication. The team here at Eagle have taken this love of E-Types to a new dimension by creating the ultimate trilogy of special edition E-Types - complementing the beautiful originals that form the backbone here at Eagle.
"I am incredibly proud of what we have achieved together over the last thirty years - and excited about what we’ll do in the future!”
The first Eagle Spyder GT will be presented to the commissioning customer during the Summer of 2016.
