Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

New TV Advert from Vauxhall to showcase the Mokka crossover, a car for all occasions.

Vauxhall Motors proudly launches its new Mokka campaign. Underpinned by the message of, ‘Mokka. Life Ready’, the campaign saunters through everyday eccentric British family life in a light-hearted and humorous way with the Vauxhall Mokka at the heart of each scene.

The ‘Mokka. Life Ready’ campaign is a whistle-stop tour through relatable situations, whether it be your child needing a perfectly timed wee on the side of the road; a father slowly backing out of the driveway upon hearing his teenage daughter and wife arguing; or the perils of the M.A.M.I.L*, a ‘creature’ often seen struggling up deserted country roads on top of his bike.

The campaign sound is the carefree, bluesy track; ‘Be Brave’ by The Strange Boys with Game of Thrones star, Iain Glen providing the voiceover.

The ad was filmed on location across a wide range of British locations, from the stunning Honister Pass to the suburbs of Manchester, illustrating not only how beautiful and diverse the UK is – but also further demonstrating how the Vauxhall Mokka is ready for any situation.

This new UK campaign will be rolled-out across TV, cinema, online, poster, print, CRM, social and PR.

The TV campaign will launch with a 40 second ad aimed at raising awareness of the Vauxhall Mokka with primetime spots secured across Coronation Street and Emmerdale, as well as movie slots in Casino Royale and Bourne Supremacy.

Cinema activity will commence on Friday 21st August 2015 with a 60 second ad playing before titles such as Fantastic Four, Inside Out and Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation.

The campaign will encompass a strong digital presence throughout Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.

Taking some quirky questions by Revoo customers asked online such as: ‘Can I fit two large dogs in the boot?’, ‘Can I fit a tall man in the back?’ and, ‘Is it easy to put a kayak on the roof?’ these are answered in a British tongue-in-cheek, dead-pan style and will be played online throughout August until mid September.

On the intentions of the campaign, Chris Hawken, Director of Brand Marketing, said: “The ‘Mokka. Life Ready’ campaign encapsulates how Vauxhall fits in with family life and not the other way around.

The Vauxhall Mokka is ready for your life and everything you throw at it.  We were adamant to get something that truly celebrates the unique nuances of British life; as well as Vauxhall’s distinct and innovative solutions to them.

We’ve produced something different from the average car ad which snakes around a mountain and drives into the sunset with some chiselled character at the wheel.  Instead, Vauxhall is presenting something much more realistic and relatable such as rescuing your old dad as he wheezes up a hill on a bike in his mid-life crisis!”

The campaign was created by advertising agency McCann UK.  Paul Dean, Managing Partner, McCann, said, “We used realistic and humorous moments of everyday life where Mokka can really help.  The Mokka is great to look at, but it isn’t just for admiring, it is ready for the realities of modern life – those times that we build connections with our cars and they almost feel like they’re part of the family.”

The Vauxhall Mokka combines the handling of a sports hatchback with the road presence of a 4x4 SUV.  Its bold, expressive design and technology injects a sense of adventure back into everyday life.  Priced from £16,474.

The New Jeep advert, looking through the iconic seven slot grill towards the rest of the world.

An exciting sequence of landscapes observed through the seven-slot grille, the typical design element of the brand: from mud, to sand, from water to tarmac. This is the vantage point of the new TV spot devoted to the 2.2 MultiJet II engine which places the Medium SUV Jeep at the top of its category for performance and efficiency.

The new TV spot devoted to the Jeep Cherokee, the car which is both cutting-edge and true to the Jeep tradition at the same time, is on-air in the UK and will soon be watched by viewers in other countries across Europe. The commercial was created by the creative agency Leo Burnett and directed by Ago Panini for Alto Verbano studios.

The spot shows an exciting sequence of wild landscapes and metropolitan scenes seen from a privileged point: through the seven-slot grille, the typical style element of the Jeep brand. Each slot represents a continent – Africa, South America, North America, Antarctica, Asia, Europe and Oceania – coming together to express the most authentic spirit of adventure in the Jeep's DNA.

The 200 hp of the new 2.2 MultiJet II engine, which appears on a Fiat Chrysler Automobiles model for the first time, more precisely on the Medium SUV Jeep, champs at the bit behind the famous grille of the Jeep Cherokee. The commercial is an epic tale told through pictures, music and the words of the claim 'Roads are just a point of view'.

The chosen route is not an issue – the advert shows mud, sand, water and tarmac – when you can rely on the top-in-class performance, ride comfort, off-road capabilities, infotainment features and safety systems which allowed the car to be awarded with five Euro NCAP stars.

The song 'Wasting My Young Years' by the British band London Grammar blends perfectly with the sound of the new 2.2 MultiJet II made in the Pratola Serra plant in Italy. Recently launched in several countries –Italy, Spain, the UK, Germany and France – the turbo diesel engine is gaining appreciation among customers and propelling Cherokee to the top of its category for performance, fuel efficiency and off-road capabilities.

Two power variants satisfy any need– 200 hp and 185 hp, both with 440 Nm of peak torque – in combination with the innovative automatic nine-speed transmission with 4x4 Jeep Active Drive I or 4x4 Jeep Active Drive II with low range, according to the versions. With respect to its predecessor, the new 2.2 MultiJet II 200 hp engine has 25% more torque and 17% more acceleration and power. CO2 emissions are reduced by 3%, now achieving 150 g/km.

The thrilling commercial dedicated to the Cherokee 2.2 MultiJet II is the best way to show the uniqueness of a model which is qualified for adventure wherever it may be and backed up by technology refined over 74 years of experience on the toughest terrains, but which is equally qualified to satisfy more demanding customers who prefer the most exclusive metropolitan destinations to adventure. As we said, 'Roads are just a point of view'.

The Jeep Cherokee range starts at £26,095 OTR for the 2.0 MultiJet II 140 hp Longitude FWD manual, rising to £37,995 for the 2.2 MultiJet II 200 hp Limited 4WD automatic.

The orderbooks are now open for the new iconic Peugeot 208 GTi, the rebirth of a legend !

  • New more radical PEUGEOT Sport-developed 208 GTi 30TH
  • More power, more torque, better performance and more fun, also with less CO2
  • GTi badge has proudly featured on performance versions of PEUGEOT products since 1984
  • New TV commercial launches on 1st October to celebrate 30th anniversary of Peugeot GTi
PEUGEOT is reinterpreting the hot hatch with a more radical version of the 208 GTi, 30 years after the original 205 GTi first thrilled car fans.
The 208 GTi 30th has been designed and engineered by PEUGEOT Sport to deliver a more intense driving sensation. A new Euro6 emissions-compliant 1.6-litre THP petrol engine develops more torque and has had its power output increased to a symbolic 208hp.  A Torsen differential helps drivers exploit the extra power in corners. And matt black trim on the exterior, along with the optional ‘Coupe Franche’ paint finish – where the red at the rear is cleanly divided from the main black body colour – makes it stand out from the regular 208 GTi.
Although the PEUGEOT 208 GTi 30th will be one of the stars of the Paris Motor Show, ordering for the limited run of 100 cars to be sold in the UK has already opened. It goes on sale in November with prices starting at £21,995.
“As with any project of this type, there was a convergence of ideas and needs. Following on from the RCZ R, PEUGEOT Sport proposed that the Brand make a more radical version of the 208 GTi. At the same time the Brand thought about how best to celebrate 30 years of the PEUGEOT GTi in 2014.” Maxime Picat – PEUGEOT Brand CEO
Incisive on the road
With 10,000 sold after just one year, the regular 208 GTi has already been a sales success. The new GTi 30thhas been designed to build on that feat by reinforcing the sporting credentials of the regular model. To accomplish this, while also celebrating the 205 GTi that kick-started the Brand’s hot hatch revolution three decades ago, PEUGEOT Sport’s expertise was invaluable.

With a regular 208 GTi as the starting point, a new 1.6-litre THP engine was installed. This increases torque from 275 to 300Nm and power output rises from 200 to 208hp. That means a 0-62mph of 6.5 seconds and a standing kilometre in 26.5 seconds. Mid-range acceleration is also impressive with 50 to 70mph taking 6.0 seconds in fifth gear. In addition, the new engine meets tough Euro6 emissions standards and reduces CO2from 139g/km to 125g/km, unprecedented in the hot hatch segment.
To enable drivers to really exploit the extra power and driveability there’s a six-speed manual transmission driving the front wheels and the same Torsen differential that has been used to such great effect on the RCZ R. The benefits of this differential are felt in corners by enabling the car to hold a tight line during acceleration.
Compared to the regular 208 GTi, the track has been widened by 22mm at the front and 16mm at the rear. The suspension has been lowered by 10mm, features new damper settings and spring rates, along with different cambers and wheel alignment to the regular 208 GTi. The matt black 18-inch wheels are half an inch wider than the regular car’s and shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres.
To take advantage of the Torsen differential, the ESP and traction control have been recalibrated to be less intrusive and the anti-roll has been reduced. Similarly PEUGEOT Sport’s engineers spent a lot of time on track and road calibrating the steering to make the most of the Torsen differential. The result is optimised grip and remarkable road holding, along with informative steering that gives a feeling of precision and agility.
To ensure it stops as well as it goes, the 208 GTi 30th has an uprated braking system. At the front, meaty 323mm diameter discs that are 28mm thick are gripped with red Brembo fixed four piston callipers featuring PEUGEOT Sport badging. The rear callipers are grey. The spare wheel has been replaced with a tyre inflation kit to save weight.
Reinforcing the extra go with more ‘show’
The regular 208 GTi has a strong visual identity so PEUGEOT’s designers wanted to build on that. Gone is the regular car’s chic bright chrome finish, replaced by matt black on the 208 GTi 30th. That same matt black treatment is applied to the grille surround, the Cornering Assist fog lamp bezels and door mirror shells. From the side, the lowered stance is accentuated by matt black side skirts and wheel arch extensions. These cover new 18-inch matt black rims. The window trim strip, which finishes with a signature paying homage to the illustrious 205 GTi, is also finished in matt black, while the rear three-quarter panel bears a ‘208 GTi 30th logo’. Round, twin chrome tail pipes give a sporty look and sound.
There is a choice of three colours for the 208 GTi 30th. In the UK, 75 of the 100 cars that have been ordered by Dealers feature the ‘Coupe Franche’ finish. Translated literally, this means ‘clean cut’ and refers to the sharp, oblique line created where the two colours meet. The front of the car has a textured black finish while the rear features a new high-gloss red. Coupe Franche is an £800 extra. Of the remaining 25 cars, 20 are in Satin White (£150 option) and five are Rioja Red.
The interior has an equally sporty character. Passengers in the front enjoy bucket seats specially developed by PEUGEOT Sport. As with other contemporary models, the steering wheel is small to enhance driver sensation and there’s satellite navigation as standard. The front seats are trimmed in Alcantara with contrasting red stitching and PEUGEOT Sport branding. There are special interior mats trimmed in red and black door handles with a red line echo the seat belts. A numbered plate marked ‘208 GTi 30th’ above the courtesy lamp finishes off this limited edition anniversary model.
To commemorate 30-years of the PEUGEOT GTi, a new TV commercial has been produced that incorporates some of the footage used in the original 205 GTi advert from 1984. To see the new commercial, click on this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zTheyLIvRc

Peugeots new baby 108 is selling way beyond expectations.

  • PEUGEOT 108 advert the most ‘Shazamed’ TV commercial ever
  • Over 5,000 orders since the July launch
  • 61% of orders are to new customers to the Brand
The PEUGEOT 108 has had a chart-topping start to life. Just three months after order books opened in the UK, sales of the new city car are already exceeding expectations. It also has the unique distinction of being the most popular television advert in the UK ever with users of the mobile music identification app ‘Shazam’.
Since it went on sale in July 2014, over 5,000 orders have been placed for the New 108. Of those 50% have been five-door hatchback, 24% the three-door hatchback and an impressive 26% have been orders for the Cabrio ‘TOP!’ model.
PEUGEOT continues to appeal to an increasingly younger audience thanks to the Brand’s innovative ‘Just Add Fuel’ ™ leasing option. 108 buyers are, on average, seven years younger than those of the previous 107 model.

A proportion of these buyers were undoubtedly introduced to the car by mobile music app Shazam. The commercial aired, for example, during advertising breaks in the X Factor on Saturdays and Sundays. Viewers had the choice to link to a web page that let them either build their own 108 or download a free track. On some evenings, 39% chose to explore the 108 – more than twice the number that downloaded the song.
In total Shazam recorded 150,000 tracks tagged as a result of the PEUGEOT 108 commercial. This doesn’t just make it the most Shazamed automotive TV advertisment ever. It makes it the most Shazamed TV advertisement ever!
