Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Andy Murray, Jose Mourinho and a missing trophy, watch the video to raise a smile.

  • Seasoned silverware collector, José Mourinho joins forces with two cheeky children to pull trophy heist
  • New Jaguar XF Sportbrake takes Andy Murray’s Wimbledon replica trophy on tour of schools and tennis clubs to inspire youngsters
  • Jaguar XF Sportbrake combines grace, space and pace for the 21st century – making it the perfect vehicle to carry Murray’s precious trophy
  • Dynamic estate will keep the trophy safe and well with gesture control sunblind, cabin air ionisation, isofix points and a suite of driver assistance technology
  • 2017 is Jaguar’s third year as Official Car of The Championships, Wimbledon

José Mourinho has added another trophy to his collection with help from a Jaguar XF, two schoolchildren, some cardboard and a little gold paint.
With a well-known penchant for collecting silverware, Mourinho targeted fellow Jaguar ambassador Andy Murray on the eve of his Wimbledon title defence. The trophy heist was part of a short film to celebrate the launch of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake and kick off a special Jaguar trophy tour.
To inspire the next generation of grass roots tennis talent, the two-time Wimbledon Champion and world number one has given up his replica men’s singles trophy for a special tour in the XF Sportbrake. The tour will end at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK (29 June – 2 July) where the trophy and car will be on public display.
The tour takes in schools and tennis clubs in the weeks leading up to The Championships, Wimbledon, 2017 and gives children from all backgrounds the chance to get their hands on Andy’s famous trophy.
Jaguar’s film shows the tour coming to a halt at a London school when Mourinho steals the famous gilt cup. Armed with a cunning plan and some craft supplies, Mourinho and his two young accomplices attempt to steal Murray’s trophy as the reigning champion tries to keep track of his prized cup using the premium estate’s InControl Remote app.
This advanced technology and connectivity allows customers to monitor the location of their vehicle using a smartphone. Owners can lock or unlock the doors, check the fuel level and even set the cabin temperature remotely.
Andy Murray said: “Apparently, I’m the first winner in the history of Wimbledon to give up their replica trophy like this. It was hard to part with it but it’s for a great cause and I know it’s in safe hands in the XF Sportbrake, especially with its special safety features and technology so I can keep track of it.”
The new Sportbrake joins Jaguar's award-winning XF saloon in its tenth year of production and delivers a compelling combination of design, driving dynamics and advanced technologies to provide traditional Jaguar grace, space and pace.
The dynamic estate is available with Jaguar’s advanced range of clean and efficient four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines with CO2 emissions as low as 118g/km. At the top of the range sits a six-cylinder 300PS 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that sprints to 60mph in 6.1 seconds.
The XF Sportbrake was introduced by Andy Murray on a replica Wimbledon centre court in London earlier this month and is manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich plant alongside the XE, XJ and F-TYPE model lines.
Jaguar is entering its third year as Official Car of The Championships, Wimbledon, which runs from Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July. During the tournament Jaguar will supply 170 vehicles from its award-winning range, including the XE, XF, XJ and F-PACE.

Jaguar's dynamic new estate has been revealed by world tennis number one Andy Murray. The two-time Wimbledon champion pulled the covers off the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake before placing his precious Wimbledon trophy inside and sending it on a UK-wide tour to inspire the next generation of players.
Jaguar is the Official Car Partner of The Wimbledon Championships and to celebrate the relationship the premium estate was revealed on a replica Centre Court.
“Winning my first major title ten years ago was an amazing moment for me; the culmination of everything I'd worked for my whole life. I feel very lucky to have got to where I am today and hope that anyone passionate about tennis gets the opportunity to play and improve.
"Letting go of the trophy will be difficult, but there's no better vehicle than the Jaguar XF Sportbrake to take it on this UK tour. I'm pleased that people are going to be able to get up close to the trophy when it visits schools and tennis clubs, and hopefully it might encourage people to pick up a racket this Summer.”

The XF Sportbrake joins Jaguar's award-winning XF saloon in its tenth year of production. The XF was launched in 2007 and has now claimed almost 200 global awards. The saloon’s new Sportbrake sibling delivers equally impressive performance, design and technology, with greater practicality and space.
With sports car-derived handling, a practical 565-litre load space and advanced convenience and safety features, the XF Sportbrake has the best of Jaguar design and technology. It also delivers impressive aerodynamic efficiency of Cd 0.29.
"The iconic Jaguar posters of the 1950s promised customers grace, pace and space. The XF Sportbrake re-imagines this offer for 21st-century active families, with stunning looks, sports car performance and a load space fit for active lifestyles."
Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design
Innovations include an intuitive gesture-controlled sunblind for the Sportbrake's super-sized, full-length, panoramic roof, Driver Condition Monitoring to detect signs of tiredness after an active day and a waterproof Activity Key you can wear while playing sport. Customers can also specify Cabin Air Ionisation, which purifies air to provide protection against environmental pollution and promote health and wellbeing.
Self-levelling rear suspension ensures an effortless ride, even when towing loads of 2,000kg. The XF Sportbrake is available with Jaguar’s advanced range of clean and efficient four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines with CO2 emissions as low as 118g/km.
“As with the XF saloon, every line on the Sportbrake serves a clear purpose, creating a fast, sweeping silhouette. This gives the car a sense of speed and a very dynamic appearance. As a result, I think it looks just as sporty as the saloon, if not more so.”
Ian Callum, Jaguar Director of Design
After helping to introduce the XF Sportbrake, Andy Murray warmed up for Wimbledon with a light-hearted celebrity doubles match on a pop-up court. Murray and coach Jamie Delgado faced comedians Rob Brydon and Jimmy Carr in a contest streamed live online, with commentary by Tim Henman.
Jaguar is entering its third season as Official Car Partner to The Championships at Wimbledon, which runs from Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July. Jaguar will supply 170 vehicles from its award-winning range, including the XE, XF, XJ and F-PACE.
To help inspire the next generation of tennis talents, Jaguar is doing something that has never been done before in the history of the Wimbledon Championship, and is taking the famous men’s singles trophy on a nationwide tour of clubs and schools. As Andy Murray counts down to the defence of his Wimbledon title later this month, the gilt cup will be chauffeured between venues in an XF Sportbrake.
The XF is manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich Plant alongside the XE, XJ and F-TYPE. Castle Bromwich is now building six model lines, double that of ten years ago when XF was introduced. Employees who build the new model celebrated by watching the live launch coverage.

Tim Henman, A jaguar XF Sportbrake and Twitter, just to wind up Andy Murray.

  • Prototype new Jaguar XF Sportbrake driven to world's most remote tennis court for a special selfie
  • Location picture answers Andy Murray’s question with help from Jaguar and Tim Henman
  • New XF Sportbrake will be revealed on 14th June by world number one tennis player, Andy Murray
  • Jaguar Is official car partner of Wimbledon 2017

Jaguar has teamed up with former British tennis number one, Tim Henman to help one Scottish tennis fan answer a question from the world’s number one tennis player, Andy Murray aided by the new XF Sportbrake.
When Susan MacCormick, from Edinburgh, tweeted Andy Murray suggesting the remote Bunabhainneadar Tennis Court on the Scottish island of North Harris feature on the ATP World Tour, she didn’t expect to get a reply. But the tennis ace and Jaguar brand ambassador couldn’t believe his eyes and responded by asking: ‘Is that even real?’
With Andy just weeks away from beginning the defence of his Wimbledon title, Jaguar arranged for Tim Henman to collect Susan in a specially camouflaged prototype and travel to the stunning location to prove its existence.
The new XF Sportbrake will be the most dynamic premium estate car in the world when it debuts on 14 June, combining traditional Jaguar design and agility with a spacious and practical interior.
“The Bunabhainneadar Tennis Court looks unreal, so I can see why Andy doubted Susan’s original message. We’ve proven that it really does exist now and the road to the court was the perfect place to try out the new XF Sportbrake as it mixes amazing scenery with some challenging corners. I can’t wait to drive the car again – perhaps a bit closer to home.”
Former British tennis number one and Jaguar brand ambassador Tim Henman
Tim even had time for a quick match with up-and-coming junior tennis player Logan Urquhart, 13, from Nairn, who was being put through his paces by coach Mike Martin at the idyllic Bunabhainneadar Tennis Court. The trio are now lifelong members of the Outer Hebrides Tennis Club and free to use the remote facilities whenever they like, while Susan will get to meet the world tennis number one later this summer at the world premiere of the new XF Sportbrake.
The XF Sportbrake premium estate will join the award-winning XF sports saloon in the Jaguar line-up and its dynamic silhouette has already been sketched on the grass of centre court at the All England Lawn Tennis Club. Jaguar is official car partner for The Championships at Wimbledon 2017, which runs from Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July.

British comedian, Jimmy Carr, and ‘Team Murray’ joined forces to pull off a prank on Andy Murray as he warms up for his second round match against Lu Yen-Hsun at The Championships.
An early alarm call from the world class stand-up, who swapped the stage on his sell-out tour for a role as Jaguar’s Secret Chauffeur, stunned the 2013 Wimbledon Champion outside of his home in an All-New Jaguar F-PACE. Murray’s support team and Jaguar had called upon Carr as part of a fun, practical joke on the Scot as he attempts to win his second Wimbledon title.

Murray rises to the occasion alongside Carr, whose instinctive wit and iconic sense of humour contribute towards the most revealing interview with the British hero.
The pair discuss yummy mummies, Ivan Lendl’s paunch, and the art of grunting whilst Carr offers some tactical advice on how Andy could put off his opponents. Watch Carr and Murray star in Jaguar’s Secret Chauffeur film here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bhyxq4i0UGw&feature=youtu.be
New Jaguar ambassador Andy Murray, who is the face of this year’s #FeelWimbledon campaign, said: “We have a really close team and are often playing practical jokes on each other – this was definitely one of the better ones. Jimmy is one of my favorite comedians, I’ve been to see him live before but to have a front-row seat to this show was amazing!”
He added: “Tuesday’s match was the perfect start to my Wimbledon campaign. Broady is a young player who has come a long way over the last few years and I’m confident he has got more to show us.
“Today’s match against Lu will hopefully go the same way. The last time we met at Wimbledon was the year I won the tournament, so I have fond memories of that match. I’m playing some of my best-ever tennis, I’m feeling healthy and I’m hungry to win my second title at Wimbledon. I feel I’ve got a great chance this year.”
Jimmy Carr, who is an avid tennis fan and will be present at SW19 on Monday to watch Murray, said: “I look like Roger Federer’s weird younger brother so who better to take on the position of Jaguar’s ‘Secret Chauffeur’.”
He added: “I love everything about Wimbledon; the excitement, the crowd, the anticipation, the £15 punnets of strawberries. Now we are chums hopefully Andy will give me a wave in the crowd this time and make it extra special.”
Andy Murray, Jaguar’s latest UK Tennis Ambassador, will receive his own F-PACE, which is now on sale at Jaguar retailers nationwide. Players and VIP’s will be chauffeured to and from Wimbledon during The Championships in the fleet of 170 luxury vehicles Jaguar provide to support event operations.

Andy Murray took on his fastest opponent ever when the British No.1 went head-to-head in a unique contest with Jaguar’s F-TYPE SVR driven by tennis legend, John McEnroe.
At Thruxton, the fastest motor-racing circuit in the UK, the British sporting icon squared off against McEnroe, disguised as a stunt driver behind the wheel of Jaguar’s supercharged high performance vehicles.

Murray said: “Trying to find an inch perfect serve at 130mph against the top players in the world is tough enough, but hitting a target racing past you at 160mph was the toughest and most unique match I’ve had.”
Behind the wheel of Jaguar’s luxury, high performance vehicles, McEnroe initiated the challenge in the Jaguar XE, F-TYPE SVR and the new Formula E racing machine in teaser livery, testing Murray’s precision, power and reaction speeds to the limit.
McEnroe, who revealed himself at the end of the challenge as the driver in Jaguar Racing’s test vehicle, said: “I wasn’t going easy on Andy. You can see from his reaction when he realised it was me. It was priceless! I’ve seen him react badly before, but nothing quite like that.”
The three-time Wimbledon champion admitted he went through a full range of emotions on his first drive of the Jaguar F-TYPE SVR. He said: “Wow! The drive & handling was incredible. I was a bit nervous when the engine first sounded. It’s a bit like the first time you go on a rollercoaster – when the adrenaline kicks in - it’s exhilarating, especially going around the corners at 150mph. It’s a very different sensation to playing in front of 15,000 on Centre Court.”
Murray, who owns a Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé and has already placed an order for the new Jaguar F-PACE, insists he is ready to seal his second Wimbledon title. He said: “I have played my best ever tennis on clay this year, and my form is as good now as it has been over the last couple of years.”
Looking ahead to The Championships, which begins on Monday 27 June, Murray added: “At the start of the year, Wimbledon is the one tournament that every tennis player wants to win. There’s more competition for every point, and the pressure is more intense during these two weeks than at any other Grand Slam. I’m confident I’ve got a great chance.”

  • Event held at the Royal Opera House, London and hosted by British radio and TV presenter George Lamb and Sky Sports F1 presenter Natalie Pinkham

The all-new Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé has been exclusively previewed at the Jaguar Academy of Sport Annual Awards ahead of its official UK launch in February next year.

The new Jaguar F-TYPE Coupé was admired on the red carpet by British stars from the world of sport including Chris Froome, Sir David Brailsford, Dame Kelly Holmes, Denise Lewis and Adam Gemili.

Sir Dave Brailsford, Jaguar Academy of Sport Ambassador said: “I’ve always had a fantastic experience with Jaguar, and the support they provide to Team Sky is totally invaluable. The F-TYPE Coupé looks incredible here on the red carpet tonight.”

The awards themselves saw Andy Murray receive two new titles including “jump off the sofa moment” winner and most inspirational sporting performance of the year for winning Wimbledon 2013 – the first British male to do so since 1936.

Murray, who is also the hot favourite for this year’s Sports Personality of the Year, was unable to attend the event to collect his award as he is currently training in Miami in preparation for the Australian Open, but he sent a video message saying “it was a big honour to win the award as a lot of hard work went into achieving my goals at Wimbledon.”

Also winning on the night was British sporting legend and Academy Patron Sir Steve Redgrave who picked up the Jaguar Academy of Sport Patrons Award for Sporting Legacy for his contribution to the British sporting landscape. Sir Steve was presented his award by one of the most influential figures in this area, Sir Keith Mills.

Sir Steve Redgrave, Jaguar Academy of Sport Patron said: “It’s not only an honour to receive this award but also to be part of the Jaguar Academy of Sport. The Rising Stars are such an inspiration!”

The Jaguar Academy of Sport supports 50 Rising Stars each year with a Bursary Fund and Mentoring and Education Programme delivered by Kelly Holmes Education. Last night, five of those 50 Rising Stars were provided with Special Recognition Awards due to their outstanding achievements and interaction with the Academy over the past year. Those individuals were disability thrower Scott Thor Jones, rower Jess Leyden, taekwondo player Asia Bailey, gymnast Tyesha Mattis and wheelchair tennis player Esperanza Merry.

In 2010, Jade Jones was named the Jaguar Academy of Sport Star of the Future and went onto win Olympic gold in 2012. This year, young rower Jess Leyden has picked up the award for some outstanding performances including taking gold at the openweight women’s singles championship at the Junior Worlds and being 1st in the World Rankings 2013.

Jess Leyden, Jaguar Academy of Sport Star of the Future said: “I’m so thrilled to have won this award, it’s completely unexpected and a fantastic end to 2013, a year in which I’ve enjoyed great success on the water. The support from Jaguar has been invaluable and I have benefited from all the workshops, especially the one at Eton Dorney where I was able to take on advice from Katherine Grainger.”
