Jaguar has launched the new XJR575 with a high-speed interview starring designer Wayne Burgess being questioned by TV presenter and race driver Amanda Stretton as the performance saloon accelerates from 0-186mph.
Lasting just 44 seconds – the time it takes Jaguar’s fastest-ever XJ saloon to reach its top speed – Burgess gave a quick-fire insight into the development of the potent new model.
The high velocity interview was almost over before it began, but the unrelenting acceleration of the new XJ flagship did not stop Burgess, Production Studio Director and SVO Projects Director at Jaguar, from providing a unique take on the performance saloon.
“I have done plenty of short interviews in my time, but nothing quite like this! It might have been a bit of fun but doesn’t it just demonstrate perfectly the extreme performance of the new XJR575. I could barely finish answering those quick-fire questions before we hit 186mph and then it was all over! Can we go again?”
Wayne Burgess, Production Studio Director and SVO Projects, Jaguar
The XJR575 is the new performance flagship for the XJ range with power up from 550PS to 575PS, delivering 0-62mph (100 km/h) in just 4.4 seconds. Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine also provides 700Nm of torque, providing the new addition to the range with effortless acceleration and refinement.
Customers will be able to choose between two bespoke exterior colour finishes created by Special Vehicle Operations – Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey – while additional tailor-made exterior details include a rear spoiler, side sills, front bumper and lower air intakes featuring gloss black surrounds.
Updated exterior badging and twin bonnet louvres mark the vehicle out from the rest of the range, as do the red brake callipers that accompany the 20-inch Farallon gloss-black wheels. Bespoke embossed tread plates alongside intaglio and diamond-quilted seating add a final flourish to the XJR575’s interior.
“This is a performance vehicle, but that doesn’t mean we have had to cut any corners when it comes to comfort or design. Jaguar is the standard bearer for interior refinement and the XJR575 is no different. It can go very quickly, but it does so with the serene comfort customers expect from a Jaguar saloon. That makes this a very special car indeed.”
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar
The XJR575 is manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich plant alongside the XE, XF, F-TYPE and XJ model lines.
The new Jaguar XJR575 model is available to order now from Jaguar UK retailers, priced from £93,710 OTR.

  • All XJ models get state-of-the-art intelligent safety features including Autonomous Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitoring
  • New 2018 Model Year Jaguar XJ available to order now from Jaguar UK retailers, priced from £59,995 OTR
Jaguar has announced a range of enhancements to its XJ luxury sports saloon. The 2018 model year (2018MY) updates include the introduction of the XJR575 performance flagship model, a host of technology upgrades and the addition of the latest intelligent safety features.
The new XJR575 is the most dynamic derivative in the line-up and delivers 575PS and 700Nm of torque for effortless acceleration and refinement. The 25PS uplift in power is delivered by Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine and powers the luxury sports saloon from 0-100km/h in 4.4 seconds (0-60mph in 4.2 seconds) and to a top speed of 186mph (300km/h).
Available in the standard wheelbase bodystyle, the XJR575 reinforces the XJR’s standing as Jaguar’s fastest XJ saloon. Customers will be able to choose between two bespoke exterior colour finishes created at Special Vehicle Operations’ state-of-the-art Oxford Road facility: Velocity Blue and Satin Corris Grey.
Ian Callum, Director of Design, Jaguar, said: “The Jaguar XJ is the largest model in our saloon car line-up and retains the physical presence and graceful design customers expect from a Jaguar flagship. Anyone who sees this car immediately knows it is both great to drive and to sit in. The intricate details inside and out give owners and passengers the feeling that they are in the presence of something truly special.”
Tailor-made exterior details include a rear spoiler, side sills, front bumper and lower air intakes featuring Gloss Black surrounds. Updated XJR575 exterior badging and twin bonnet louvres mark the vehicle out from the rest of the range while 20-inch Farallon gloss-black wheels with red painted brake callipers are the final dynamic flourish.
Inside the XJR575 features bespoke embossed tread plates, 575 intaglio and diamond-quilted seating available in Jet/Jet and Ivory/Jet colour options and finished with additional 575 branding.
For 2018MY the XJ features a number of technology upgrades which enhance connectivity with 4G Wi-Fi capability, allowing occupants to stay online on the move with as many as eight devices.
Jeremy Hicks, Jaguar Land Rover UK MD, said: “There is huge momentum behind Jaguar in the UK at the moment with record sales, high footfall at retailers and more customers considering the brand than ever before. Work doesn’t stop here though, these latest updates to the XJ show we’re still working to improve our line-up and widen its appeal to even more UK buyers.”
“The very latest technology and peak of Jaguar performance are now available in our flagship model, adding to the already impressive package of style, comfort and agility. The Jaguar XJ has always been designed as the ultimate luxury driver’s car, and with the new 2018 model year range and the XJR575 we’ve made it even more desirable.”
In addition, the central console now features a larger 10-inch touchscreen. As well as giving customers greater clarity, the bigger screen functions like a smartphone allowing occupants to pinch and zoom when using satellite navigation and create custom homepages for shortcuts to favoured features.
Jaguar’s saloon car line-up promises strong safety credentials and the 2018MY XJ features the latest intelligent safety technologies. Forward Traffic Detection is designed to assist drivers when forward visibility is restricted, for example when pulling out of blind junctions.
Lane Keep Assist is able to determine the car’s lane position and monitor steering inputs. If the vehicle drifts out of its lane without indicating, the system applies gentle steering torque to correct the movement and prevent the unintended lane-change. In addition, Driver Condition Monitor is able to identify periods of little or no steering activity followed by sudden or excessive inputs – a clear indication of driver fatigue – and display multi-stage visual warnings to prompt the driver to take a break.
The pedestrian safety bar is raised further by Jaguar’s advanced Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), which provides superior functionality with the introduction of Pedestrian Detection. The system operates from 3-37mph (5-60km/h) and uses an advanced forward-facing stereo digital camera to spot hazards, automatically applying the brakes when the risk of a collision is detected.
The 2018 Model Year XJ is available to order now from Jaguar UK retailers, priced from £59,995 on-the-road.

  • Supercar-performance four-door Project 8 sedan beats world-class opposition to win the second annual Michelin Supercar Paddock Showstopper Trophy
  • Showstopper award is presented following a four-day online public vote, with the overall winner selected by a panel of judges live at the Festival of Speed

  • Drivers for Project 8’s dynamic debut on the Goodwood hillclimb course included Panasonic Jaguar Racing Formula E team driver Mitch Evans
Making its global dynamic debut among the most powerful and extreme performance cars in the world at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the new Jaguar XE SV Project 8 claimed the hotly-contested Michelin Supercar Paddock Showstopper Trophy – just four days after the car was officially unveiled.
As the only four-door car in the Michelin Supercar Run, the Jaguar faced formidable competition in the 50-car paddock, but voters in an online poll hosted by Michelin UK singled-out Project 8 as one of the six most popular cars of the weekend, qualifying it for the overall Showstopper final on Sunday afternoon.
This shortlist of six cars was judged live on stage by a panel of motoring experts, headed by Michelin Supercar Paddock presenter and former BTCC Champion, Tim Harvey. Joining him were British automotive journalist and broadcaster, Jon Quirk, American drift racer Vaughn Gittin Jr, Supercars of London channel star Paul Wallace, Seen Thru Glass channel star Sam Fane, and London-based custom car aficionado Jason Pelosi.
Chief Judge, Tim Harvey, said: “Jaguar’s Project 8 really took everyone by surprise at the Festival this weekend. Not only was it the car’s world debut – but the sheer extremes of the car, and the way it’s pushed the boundaries in every single way, made it an absolute stand out in the Michelin Supercar Paddock.
“This shone through in the online vote, and when it came to our judging panel, we were all pretty quickly won over by the Jaguar as a true star of the short-listed six. It really does it for me as a former touring car racer, and the car’s uncompromising looks and performance secured the rest. Congratulations Jaguar.”
John Edwards, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Managing Director, said:

“We are absolutely delighted to receive the Showstopper award for Jaguar XE SV Project 8 on its world dynamic debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, and to see the fantastic reaction it’s had from car enthusiasts.

“With spectacular looks, supercar performance, and a soundtrack to match, Project 8 was always intended to turn heads on and off track.”
The second Collector’s Edition by SVO, following the successful F-TYPE Project 7 of 2014, Project 8 is a road-legal hand-built four-door sedan with an extraordinary combination of V8 power, dynamic agility and All-Wheel Drive traction.
Project 8 exclusively features the most highly tuned version of Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain. The 600PS power unit, which has a Titanium Variable Active Exhaust, is complemented by Jaguar’s All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and motorsport-derived aerodynamics and carbon fibre panels to deliver a 200mph top speed and 0-60mph in 3.3sec*, making Project 8 the fastest accelerating Jaguar yet.
To ensure exclusivity, no more than 300 examples of Project 8 will be hand-built at SVO’s Technical Centre in Coventry, priced from £149,995 in the UK.
Building on the award-winning lightweight aluminium Jaguar XE compact sedan, Project 8 features a number of purposeful modifications that are fundamental to the performance of the most track-focused car SVO has ever produced, including height-adjustable suspension, the first application of Jaguar’s ultimate new Carbon Ceramic Braking system, and an industry-first use of F1-style silicon nitride ceramic wheel bearings on a road car.
The high-performance theme continues inside, with subtle applications of Gloss Carbon Fibre trim as well as Alcantara, on the rim of the Project 8 Sport Steering Wheel, instrument binnacle and door cards. The eight-speed Quickshift transmission can either be operated by aluminium paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or by a central Pistolshift lever.
Project 8 is available with four seats or an optional two-seat Track Pack. It’s also the first Jaguar to feature a dedicated Track Mode, which tailors driveline and stability control systems for circuit use, and sharpens both throttle and steering responses for ultimate precision and driver feedback.

0-100km/h in 6.0 seconds (0-60mph in 5.7 seconds) with fuel economy of 37mpg (7.7 l/100km).

In the Jaguar XF business saloon the new engine delivers 0-100km/h in 5.6 seconds (0-60mph in 5.5 seconds). With CO2emissions of 163g/km and fuel economy of 40mpg (7.2 l/100km), the new Ingenium powerplant delivers traditional Jaguar performance allied to impressive efficiency.
For the XE sports saloon, the new engine delivers even more impressive figures. The 0-100km/h sprint takes only 5.5 seconds (0-60mph in 5.2 seconds), while fuel economy of 41.5mpg (6.9 l/100km) and CO2 emissions of 157g/km ensure its strong eco credentials remain intact.
“We continue to broaden the range of our Ingenium engine family, giving customers more choice than ever before. Our new 300PS petrol engine provides the performance synonymous with Jaguar, while delivering enhanced fuel economy thanks to its state-of-the-art exhaust technology and pioneering valve train design. This clean and more efficient engine perfectly complements the advanced lightweight aluminium body structure of our XE, XF and F-PACE models.”
Nick Rogers, Executive Director, Product Engineering
The new four-cylinder engine, benefits from the latest Jaguar Land Rover engine technology, including twin-scroll turbos with ceramic ball bearings to reduce friction and a high flow compressor wheel for enhanced performance. The new engine is manufactured at the £500m Engine Manufacturing Centre in Wolverhampton, UK.
Paired with Jaguar Land Rover’s advanced ZF eight-speed automatic transmission, this drivetrain delivers exceptionally smooth acceleration with seamless gearshifts and outstanding responses.
The introduction of the powerful new engine is the latest in a series of enhancements to the XE, XF and F-PACE. Earlier this year the range of advanced Ingenium engines expanded to include 200PS (XE and XF only) and 250PS versions of the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine. A 240PS 2.0-litre four-cylinder twin turbo diesel was also introduced.
Further updates for the 2018 model year derivatives include added convenience features such as a Gesture Boot Lid for the XF and XE, as well as Jaguar’s Configurable Dynamics technology. This allows drivers to personalise the automatic gearbox, throttle and steering settings to suit their personal preference.
All three models also benefit from the very latest safety technologies including Forward Vehicle Guidance and Forward Traffic Detection.

Andy Murray, Jose Mourinho and a missing trophy, watch the video to raise a smile.

  • Seasoned silverware collector, José Mourinho joins forces with two cheeky children to pull trophy heist
  • New Jaguar XF Sportbrake takes Andy Murray’s Wimbledon replica trophy on tour of schools and tennis clubs to inspire youngsters
  • Jaguar XF Sportbrake combines grace, space and pace for the 21st century – making it the perfect vehicle to carry Murray’s precious trophy
  • Dynamic estate will keep the trophy safe and well with gesture control sunblind, cabin air ionisation, isofix points and a suite of driver assistance technology
  • 2017 is Jaguar’s third year as Official Car of The Championships, Wimbledon

José Mourinho has added another trophy to his collection with help from a Jaguar XF, two schoolchildren, some cardboard and a little gold paint.
With a well-known penchant for collecting silverware, Mourinho targeted fellow Jaguar ambassador Andy Murray on the eve of his Wimbledon title defence. The trophy heist was part of a short film to celebrate the launch of the new Jaguar XF Sportbrake and kick off a special Jaguar trophy tour.
To inspire the next generation of grass roots tennis talent, the two-time Wimbledon Champion and world number one has given up his replica men’s singles trophy for a special tour in the XF Sportbrake. The tour will end at Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK (29 June – 2 July) where the trophy and car will be on public display.
The tour takes in schools and tennis clubs in the weeks leading up to The Championships, Wimbledon, 2017 and gives children from all backgrounds the chance to get their hands on Andy’s famous trophy.
Jaguar’s film shows the tour coming to a halt at a London school when Mourinho steals the famous gilt cup. Armed with a cunning plan and some craft supplies, Mourinho and his two young accomplices attempt to steal Murray’s trophy as the reigning champion tries to keep track of his prized cup using the premium estate’s InControl Remote app.
This advanced technology and connectivity allows customers to monitor the location of their vehicle using a smartphone. Owners can lock or unlock the doors, check the fuel level and even set the cabin temperature remotely.
Andy Murray said: “Apparently, I’m the first winner in the history of Wimbledon to give up their replica trophy like this. It was hard to part with it but it’s for a great cause and I know it’s in safe hands in the XF Sportbrake, especially with its special safety features and technology so I can keep track of it.”
The new Sportbrake joins Jaguar's award-winning XF saloon in its tenth year of production and delivers a compelling combination of design, driving dynamics and advanced technologies to provide traditional Jaguar grace, space and pace.
The dynamic estate is available with Jaguar’s advanced range of clean and efficient four-cylinder Ingenium petrol and diesel engines with CO2 emissions as low as 118g/km. At the top of the range sits a six-cylinder 300PS 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine that sprints to 60mph in 6.1 seconds.
The XF Sportbrake was introduced by Andy Murray on a replica Wimbledon centre court in London earlier this month and is manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover's Castle Bromwich plant alongside the XE, XJ and F-TYPE model lines.
Jaguar is entering its third year as Official Car of The Championships, Wimbledon, which runs from Monday 3 July to Sunday 16 July. During the tournament Jaguar will supply 170 vehicles from its award-winning range, including the XE, XF, XJ and F-PACE.

Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) has revealed the most powerful, agile and extreme performance Jaguar road car ever – the 200mph, 600PS XE SV Project 8 sedan.
The second Collector’s Edition by SVO, following the successful F-TYPE Project 7 of 2014, Project 8 is a hand-built four-door sedan with supercar performance – designed to thrill driving enthusiasts, with an extraordinary combination of explosive power, dynamic agility and all-wheel-drive traction. To ensure exclusivity, no more than 300 examples will be created, each assembled at SVO’s Technical Centre in Coventry.
John Edwards, Jaguar Land Rover Special Operations Managing Director, said: “SVO's raison d'être is to produce halo vehicles that push the boundaries in terms of luxury, performance and all-terrain capability. Project 8 is a great example of what happens when enthusiastic designers, engineers and manufacturing specialists are given the opportunity to create an extreme performance sports car without compromise.

“Project 8 will be assembled by hand in the new SVO Technical Centre, and we're confident that our enthusiastic and demanding clients will love driving Project 8 as much we do!"

Project 8 exclusively features the most highly tuned version of Jaguar Land Rover’s 5.0-litre Supercharged V8 petrol powertrain. The 600PS power unit, which has a Titanium Variable Active Exhaust, is complemented by Jaguar’s All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system and motorsport-derived aerodynamics to deliver a 200mph top speed and 0-60mph in 3.3sec*, making Project 8 the fastest accelerating Jaguar yet.
Fundamental to the performance of the most track-focused car SVO has ever produced, Project 8 features a number of purposeful modifications to the award-winning XE’s lightweight aluminium body panels, including: Carbon Fibre Bumper with enhanced Cooling Ducts, vented Carbon Fibre Bonnet, flared bodywork covering 20-inch forged aluminium alloy wheels, adjustable Front Splitter, Flat Underbody, rear Carbon Fibre Bumper, rear Diffuser and adjustable Rear Aerodynamic Wing. Project 8 will be the lightest V8 sedan in the Jaguar range.
Mark Stanton, SVO Director, said:“We have really been able to unleash the potential of our engineering and design teams in specifying Project 8. We are at the beginning of a very challenging and exciting development programme which will see us focus on ensuring Project 8 delivers track performance on a level previously not targeted by Jaguar.
“The SVO team is full of performance car enthusiasts that are now briefed to deliver motorsport science and soul in what is effectively a four-door supercar.”
To ensure optimum performance on road or track, Project 8 endows the XE’s double-wishbone front and Integral Link rear suspension with stiffer springs and manually adjustable Continuously Variable Dampers (giving a 15mm lower ride height for track use), debuts a new Carbon Ceramic Braking system, an industry-first use of Formula 1-style silicon nitride ceramic wheel bearings on a road car, and incorporates a rear Electronic Active Differential (EAD) with oil cooler – a first for XE.
The high-performance theme continues inside, with subtle applications of Gloss Carbon Fibre trim as well as Alcantara, on the rim of the Project 8 Sport Steering Wheel, instrument binnacle and door cards. The eight-speed Quickshift transmission can either be operated by aluminium paddle shifters behind the steering wheel or by a central Pistolshift lever – another first for XE.
Project 8 is also the first Jaguar to feature a dedicated Track Mode, which tailors driveline and stability control systems for circuit use, and sharpens both throttle and steering responses for ultimate precision and driver feedback.
Project 8 will be available in two specifications at launch. The standard four-seat model features Jaguar’s latest front Performance seats with magnesium frames, plus a more heavily contoured rear squab to maximise support. The optional two-seat Track Pack includes lightweight front Carbon Fibre Racing Seats with Four-Point Harnesses fixed to a Harness Retention Hoop in place of the rear seat. All Project 8s will be built in left-hand drive configuration only.

Race-inspired decal packs, accentuating Project 8’s high-performance attributes, are also available.
The Jaguar XE SV Project 8 will make its world debut at Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex, UK, which runs from 29 June – 2 July. Project 8 will make its dynamic world debut on the famous Goodwood Hill on Friday 30 June.
