Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

  • Four trim levels with prices starting at just £8,245
  • 108 Top! Cabrio with retractable fabric roof on a PEUGEOT city car for the first time

Full details on one of the most eagerly anticipated new cars of 2014 – the all-new PEUGEOT 108 – are revealed today.
The sophisticated and chic city car is available in three and five-door Hatch or TOP! Cabrio body styles and with a choice of two fuel-efficient and low-emissions petrol engines. These include PEUGEOT’s recently unveiled PureTech naturally aspirated three-cylinder unit.

Personalisation will be a key element of the 108’s appeal to customers, with a huge range of colours, ambiences, trims and themes.
The new model is also a technical ‘tour de force’, bringing desirable new comfort and convenience features to the city car sector. These include a 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with DAB digital radio, Mirror Screen with MirrorLink™ technology and Bluetooth connectivity for smartphones and the safety benefit of steering wheel-mounted controls.
Until very recently, such features were reserved for premium saloons costing considerably more than the PEUGEOT 108. Yet this elegant and desirable new city car will offer exceptional value for money. Prices start at just £8,245 on the road.

The car is available in PEUGEOT’s familiar four trim levels – Access, Active, Allure and Feline. On the 108 Hatch, Access is only available on three-door models. Standard features include LED daytime running lights, remote central locking, USB/aux connection for external audio players with steering wheel-mounted controls, six airbags, ESP stability control and two rear ISOFIX mountings.
Active models add colour-coded door handles and mirrors, air-conditioning, height-adjustable driver’s seat, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with DAB digital radio, Mirror Screen and Bluetooth.
The Allure model takes the standard spec up another notch, with 15-inch ‘Thorren’ alloy wheels, front fog lights, auto headlights, electric heated door mirrors, reversing camera, leather steering wheel and gear knob, plus PEUGEOT Open & Go (keyless entry and engine start/stop button).

The flagship PEUGEOT 108 is in Feline trim, which adds a touch of luxury. Features include leather upholstery, chrome door handles and mirrors and automatic dual zone air conditioning.
For the first time, PEUGEOT’s smallest car is available with a retractable fabric roof, which can be opened and closed electrically at any speed. Called the 108 TOP!, it’s available in Active and Allure trims. Active cars have colour-coded door handles and mirrors, manual air conditioning, electric front windows, height adjustable driver’s seat, 7-inch touch-screen infotainment system with Mirror Screen, DAB digital radio, Bluetooth and steering wheel-mounted controls.
Allure adds 15-inch ‘Thorren’ alloy wheels, front fog lamps, auto headlights, tinted rear windows, reversing camera, electric heated door mirrors and PEUGEOT Open & Go.
Both the 108 Hatch and TOP! come with a choice of two petrol engines. They are a 1.0-litre 68bhp with 95g/km of CO2 (88g/km with Stop and Start), or a 1.2-litre PureTech VTi 82bhp with 99g/km of CO2. A five-speed manual transmission is mated to both engines, with the option of a 2-Tronic semi-automatic gearbox on the 1.0-litre.

Prices start at £8,245 on the road for the PEUGEOT 108 Hatch 1.0-litre Access three-door. Active models begin at £9,495, Allure at £10,995 and Feline at £11,845. 108 TOP! Cabrio models are priced from just £10,345 for the 1.0-litre Active three-door (only a £850 price walk from the equivalent Hatch version), rising to £12,245 for the 1.2-litre Allure five-door.

Eight vibrant body colours and three roof colours are included in the 108’s standard palette. Customers will be encouraged to design a car to fit their style, so personalisation choices will be wide and varied. Optional extras start at just £100 for an Aikinite ambience, which consists of a dash insert and gloss black surround on the centre console. Diamond, Kilt, Barcode, Dressy, Tattoo and Sport personalisation themes will cost only £350, while Purple Berry / Zircon Grey two-tone paint with Dual personalisation theme is just £850.
The all-new PEUGEOT 108 will be officially on sale in the UK from 1st July 2014.
