UK SALES JUNE - DACIA - The brand where "you do the math" grows further in 2015.

  • Dacia car sales up 11.5 per cent in the first half of 2015 to 14,465 vehicles – 1.1% of the new car market
  • 96 per cent of Dacia sold to private buyers with a retail market share of 2.0%
  • Renault Group sales - including Renault cars, Renault vans and the Dacia brand - records 62,476 sales in H1 with a share of 4.0 per cent, volume up 15.2 per cent
After posting record-breaking figures in 2014, Dacia’s popularity with UK buyers continues to increase, as the ‘no frills’ car brand posted first half sales of 14,465 vehicles – up 11.5 per cent on last year and yet again outpacing the growing car market, which rose by 7.0 per cent.

Dacia achieved 2,568 sales in the UK in June according to official figures released today from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT), representing a market share for the month of 1.0 per cent, up 0.15 percentage points against the same period last year. Dacia’s car market share for the first six months of 2015 stands at 1.1 per cent.
The first half of the year saw 96 per cent of Dacias sold in the UK go to private buyers – giving the ‘shockingly affordable’ brand a retail market share of 1.8 per cent – up 0.2 points on the first half of 2014.
The Dacia Sandero hatchback remains the most popular model in the range, with 9,237 examples of Britain’s most affordable car being sold from January to June.
Dacia is part of the Renault Group, which has experienced an unprecedented period of ahead-of-the-market growth over the last two years. This growth has continued into 2015 with 62,476 Group vehicles being sold in the first six months of the year for a market share of 4.0 per cent – up 15.2 per cent versus a total market growth rate of 8.3 per cent.
Commenting on the performance, Ken Ramirez, Renault Group UK Managing Director, said: “I’m delighted that Dacia’s ‘shockingly affordable’ value for money and no-nonsense approach has found so many customers this year making us the first choice ‘smart buy’ car brand.”
