UK SALES JUNE - FORD - The Blue Oval extends its UK lead with a brilliant July.

Ford total vehicle sales and share increased in June, compared with June 2014, stretching its sales lead over its nearest competitors and notching up the best June sales for Ford for more than 25 years.
According to the official June sales figures from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT):
  • Ford is UK market leader in total vehicle, car and commercial vehicle (CV) sales
  • Ford records best June car sales since 2003
  • Ford records best-ever June CV sales
  • Fiesta is the best seller in June, in its seventh year as the UK’s top-selling vehicle
  • Ford’s total vehicle sales lead increases 44 per cent compared with June 2014
Andy Barratt, Ford of Britain chairman and managing director, said: “I am delighted that, as the UK market records its 40th consecutive month of growth, we have consolidated and extended our long-standing UK market leadership.

“We have invested consistently in exciting products and industry-leading technologies that are delivered through the strongest UK dealer network.  Our extended CV range is providing outstanding sales results and the roll out of new models includes C-MAX, S-MAX, Galaxy, Mustang and Mondeo Vignale."
The official figures released by the SMMT today show that total car sales in June were up 12.9 per cent to 257,817 units, compared with June 2014. Ford car sales were 33,055, 3,033 registrations ahead of its nearest rival.  For the year to date (end June) total UK car sales were 1,376,889 up 7.0 per cent compared with the same period in 2014.  Ford car sales for this period were 177,150, 34,716 registrations ahead of its nearest rival.  Ford’s lead in retail car sales reflects the preferences of private buyers.  In June, Ford was 4.0 percentage points of retail car sales share ahead of its nearest rival and for the year to date, it was ahead 4.2 percentage points.
The Ford Fiesta is in its seventh year as the UK top seller and in June it secured 12,543 registrations, up from 11,213 in June 2014.  The broad customer appeal of Ford’s car range is demonstrated by Fiesta, B-MAX, Focus, C-MAX, Kuga and Galaxy all occupying top three places in their respective market segments in June and for the year to date.
UK commercial vehicle sales in June were up 18.4 per cent at 41,023, compared with June 2014.  Total sales of Ford CVs were the best ever for June, up 27.2 per cent at 10,547, compared with June 2014.  For the year to date total UK CV sales were up 21.3 per cent at 212,646, compared with 2014.  Total sales of Ford CVs for the same period were up 36.0 per cent at 53,140, compared with 2014.
Ford light commercials sales in June were up from 1,782 to 2,230, compared with June 2014, and LCV market share increased from 19.1 to 23.6 per cent.  For the year to date Ford LCV sales have increased substantially, compared with 2014, increasing from 6,675 to 11,881 with share up from 14.3 to 22.4 per cent.
Ford medium commercials sales in June were up from 6,509 to 8,317, compared with June 2014, and MCV market share increased from 29.3 to 30.2 per cent.  For the year to date Ford MCV sales, compared with 2014, increased from 32,411 to 41,259 with share up from 28.5 to 29.8 per cent.
