Volkswagen launches the next generation match Special Edition Model upto three engines

  • New Polo Match Edition will be available at Volkswagen Retailers from 21 December
  • Significantly enriched technology and a choice of four engines
  • Volkswagen Polo Match Edition prices start at  £13,315 (RRP OTR)
The new Volkswagen Polo Match Edition is packed with technology that adds terrific extra value to one of Volkswagen’s best-selling models.
The award-winning Polo is the leader in its class thanks to its build quality, smart styling and renowned practicality and these features have been enhanced in the new Polo Match Edition, which will be available to order at Volkswagen Retailers across the UK from 21 December.

The new model includes Car-Net App-Connect which fully integrates the customer’s smartphone, where compatible, to their Volkswagen Polo via a USB connection.  Depending on the phone, Car-Net App-Connect uses Apple CarPlay, Google Android Auto or MirrorLink to bring the device’s functionality to the car by displaying apps on the infotainment touchscreen.
Car-Net’s App-Connect functionality enables practical services and information to be accessed, and builds on the features of the Composition Media infotainment system.  Selected phone apps such as Spotify and Skype can be operated from the car’s touchscreen, and for smartphones that support Google Android Auto, Google Voice control is available.
Volkswagen has also developed a variety of apps for those customers that use MirrorLink to connect their smartphone to the car.  These include Call & Remind, in which the driver can make a to-do list while stationary in the car, and Cam Connect, where a GoPro® Hero4 camera can be placed in the car and a still image shown on the infotainment screen on demand – perfect for keeping an eye on back-seat occupants.  And the system will even stream video from the camera when the car is moving slowly or is stopped.
The feature count on the Polo Match Edition continues with electrically heated door mirrors, which make life easier and safer on frosty winter mornings.  The body-coloured door mirrors have integrated indicators and they also electronically fold, which adds convenience to every-day motoring.
The Polo Match Edition’s auto-dimming rear-view mirror is a further example of how Volkswagen incorporates driver-friendly technology into its models.  The auto-dimming feature helps to prevent the lights of a car behind from dazzling the driver.  Additionally, an LED rain sensor fitted behind the rear-view mirror will automatically turn on the windscreen wipers in wet weather, while the system will even turn on the rear window wiper when the driver selects reverse gear.
Volkswagen’s Coming/Leaving Home lights make life easier and safer on dark wintery evenings too.  When the driver locks or unlocks the car the dipped-beam headlights, the courtesy lights in the exterior mirrors, the rear lights and the number-plate lighting, all stay on for a short while before they are switched off automatically.  This helps the Polo to illuminate the way to the customer’s front door.
The Polo Match Edition also includes front and rear parking sensors, cruise control, 15-inch ‘Stratford’ alloy wheels and manual air conditioning.
Engine options for the Polo Match Edition start with Volkswagen’s 1.0-litre 60 PS petrol unit, which is alternatively available in 75 PS form.  The 1.2-litre TSI engine has a power output of 90 PS, and is available with a choice of manual or DSG automatic gearboxes.  The Match Edition engine range is completed with the 1.4-litre TDI 75 PS engine, which offers 74.3 mpg* on the combined cycle.
The Volkswagen Polo range starts with the S which, like the Match Edition, features a variety of safety features as standard.  This includes ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control) and Automatic Post-Collision Braking.  All Polos are also equipped with driver’s and front passenger’s airbags, and a side head airbag system.

The evolution of the FIAT Professional Fiorino introduces some modern design touches, inside and out, with new features that will propel it to the top of its class in terms of performance, running costs, comfort and functionality.

In terms of style, the front bumper of the new FIAT Professional Fiorino has been completely refreshed in line with the sophisticated design language of the FIAT Professional range while retaining the high-mounted headlamps that are not only synonymous with the Fiorino's identity but also have a practical role in improving visibility and ensuring they are less susceptible to parking mishaps.

The passenger compartment has also been revised to make it more comfortable and ergonomic than ever. The redesigned steering wheel is available with remote stereo controls and leather trim, as is and gear knob and boot.
The instruments cluster gets new graphics with permanent backlighting for better visibility and a new, more functional storage compartment has been added to the dashboard.
A new, five-inch, colour, touchscreen infotainment system is also offered for the first time, with Bluetooth, USB/AUX port and available satellite navigation and DAB radio.
The comprehensive line-up of engines - all Euro 6 - can satisfy all needs. The range features two turbo-diesel 1.3 MultiJet II engines with outputs of 80 and 95hp as well as a 77hp 1.4-litre naturally-aspirated petrol unit.
Both diesel engines are offer strong performance and cost-effectiveness, both in terms of fuel-efficiency and maintenance, while the new EcoJet version employs additional fuel-saving technologies such as a Start & Stop system, a "smart" alternator and a variable displacement oil pump.
Paired with a Comfort-Matic robotised transmission – the only vehicle in the segment to offer such a transmission - the FIAT Professional Fiorino  EcoJet is capable of 74.3 MPG (3.8L/100km) on the combined cycle with emissions of 100 grams of CO2 per kilometre, meaning a fuel saving of up to 14 percent compared to the manual transmission without EcoJet.
The new FIAT Professional Fiorino offers all the safety systems of its predecessor, including standard ABS with EBD, ESC complete with ASR, HBA, and Hill Holder with parking sensors and front passenger and side airbags available as options.

For the 3rd year in succession, the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso has been named ‘Best MPV’ at the Fleet World Honours

For the third year in succession, the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso has been named ‘Best MPV’ at the Fleet World Honours annual awards event, which took place in London earlier today.  Having triumphed in the category in the two years since its launch, the Grand C4 Picasso has proved it is still the benchmark in this highly competitive sector.

Steve Moody, editor of Fleet World magazine – and Fleet World Honours judge – praised the Citroën Grand C4 Picasso for its style, practicality and efficiency. “The Grand C4 Picasso moved the MPV segment forward when it launched in 2014, and nothing has come close since.
This remains the only non-hybrid seven-seater under 100g/km, and there are no compromises on flexibility or comfort to get there. Futuristic styling, generous equipment levels and long-distance refinement mean Citroën is still ahead of the curve.”
Built on the advanced and lightweight EMP2 modular platform, the Grand C4 Picasso has been recognised for its efficiency, use of interior space and low cost of ownership. The model’s ability to emit less than 100g/km of CO2 without the use of hybrid technology remains an attractive proposition, as does its wide range of equipment options.
These features include: Park Assist and Blind Spot Monitoring; 360° Vision technology; 7-inch Touch Drive interface; active seat belts; a 12-inch HD central display screen and dual-zone air conditioning. The range-topping Grand C4 Picasso Exclusive+ even has a front passenger seat with a massage function and an electric leg rest, as standard.
Martin Gurney, PSA Group UK’s Director of Fleet & Used Vehicles, remarked; “Citroën is delighted that the Grand C4 Picasso has won the Fleet World Honours ‘Best MPV’ award in each of the three years since it was launched.
This achievement highlights its impressive design and engineering credentials, and reflects Citroën’s process of continuous improvement. The Grand C4 Picasso’s latest-generation Euro 6 engines provide improved fuel economy of up to 74.3mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 99g/km. All of which – combined with strong residual values – gives the Grand C4 Picasso significant fleet appeal.”
