Fiat Professional boots sales by nearly 50% in the month of March compared to a year earlier.

Fiat Professional’s growing popularity in the UK is illustrated again this week, as new figures show a 44.2% rise in registrations in March 2017, compared with the same month last year.
The sales results show that Fiat Professional, the commercial vehicle arm of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles UK, was the second most improved van manufacturer in March. The company’s market share rose by 0.7 % to 3.4%.
All Fiat Professional models’ sales performance improved last month, compared with March 2016, but the star of the quarter was Fiorino – sales were up 81.8 % in the first three months of 2017, compared with the same period last year.
Fiat Doblo sales have increased by 49.9%, while Fiat Ducato registrations are up 14.0% for the quarter, and both ranges had increases in market share. Doblo market share in terms of retail or sales to small businesses rose from 2.8% to 6.7%, and in the Corporate channel, Ducato’s market share rose from 3.8% to 6.7%.
The top-level Tecnico trim specification, which is available across all models and adds equipment such as satellite navigation, reverse parking sensors, Bluetooth hands-free connectivity and air conditioning, has proved to be very popular – sales have increased by 302% compared with the same period last year.
“The sales performance figures are fantastic news, across the whole range,” says Alejandro Noriega, head of brand, Fiat Professional UK. “It is clear that, in addition to fleet sales, more tradesmen and small businesses are choosing our vehicles, as we continue to bring exciting new models to the UK. That way we can continue to improve and increase our market share.”

The strength in depth and all-round appeal of Fiat Professional’s light commercial vehicle
line-up has been highlighted again with a brace of coveted category wins at the prestigious What Van? Awards 2017.

First the hugely successful Doblo Cargo was named Light Van of the Year by the influential title for the second year running.
This capped an incredible 12 months for the widely-acclaimed model in which it was also named Light Van of the Year by VansA2Z and Best Small Van by both Van Fleet World and Trade Van Driver.
Meanwhile, the Fiat Professional Fiorino Cargo – the compact van built for the city – fought off fierce competition to be named Small Van of the Year.
The awards judges were impressed by the Doblo Cargo’s versatility and practicality as well as the driving dynamics and comfort delivered by advanced features such as the van’s sophisticated bi-link suspension.
In the case of the Fiorino Cargo, the model’s frugal engines and compelling whole-life financials set it apart from the competition.
James Dallas, Editor of What Van?, said: “Being both versatile and practical, the Doblo Cargo remains the best light van around.
“And with its frugal, Euro6 engines, the Fiorino Cargo makes a great deal of sense for any city-based operator.”
Accepting the award, Alejandro Noriega, Country Manager at Fiat Professional, said: “We are hugely proud of both the Doblo and Fiorino and are delighted to see them claim two more high profile awards for our brand.
“These awards are particularly special as they are awarded by a panel of experts who truly understand the LCV market and who know what van customers are looking for.”
He added: “These awards are further evidence of the strength and competitiveness of Fiat Professional’s van line-up, which has recently been bolstered by the arrival of the all-new Talento and Fullback pick-up, and underline the huge strides the brand is making as it aims to achieve its growth aspirations and further enhance its reputation.”
With a payload of up to one tonne, a load volume of up to 5.0m3 and a range of highly efficient engines, the multi award-winning Doblo Cargo has proved a big hit with fleet operators. The Doblo 1.3 90 HP MultiJet II Tecnico is currently available from £149 per month (exc VAT) on business contract hire.

Happy 35th Birthday to the Fiat Professional Ducato large panel Van, sold in 80 countries, 3 factories & 6 generations.

SOLD in more than 80 countries worldwide and with an incredible 10,000 variants, the legendary Fiat Ducato is celebrating its 35th birthday.
The ever-popular van, which has become as iconic as a camper as it has as a commercial vehicle, marked the milestone this week.
Since the first Ducato rolled off the production line at Val di Sangro’s SEVEL (Società Europea Veicoli Leggeri) factory in October 1981, it has consistently been a market leader in versatility, engine power and low running costs.

Today, the sixth-generation Ducato is produced in three countries (Mexico, Brazil and Italy), with a better payload than ever (2,100kg) and even the option of air suspension.
Offering a range of diesel engines and with second-generation MultiJet technology, it sets the bar in terms of efficiency and low maintenance costs.
Other milestones reached over the years include the introduction of Steyr-Puch all-wheel drive in 1989, the all-electric Ducato Elettra launched in the early 1990s and winning International Van of the Year in 1994.
Its third-generation variant became a game changer when, for the first time in the sector, the gear lever was incorporated into the central console, facilitating access to the cab from both doors and from the cab to the loading compartment.
In the early 2000s it led the way for alternative fuels in Europe with its petrol/methane engine, while the fifth-generation Ducato, launched in 2006, was the first front-wheel-drive van to offer a volume of 17 cubic metres.
The popularity of the Ducato shows no sign of stopping with more than five million sales since its launch. Sold in more than 80 countries worldwide, including North America since 2013 by RAM under the name of PROMASTER, the Ducato is now produced in three countries (Mexico, Brazil and Italy) and is a truly global vehicle and a leader in the light commercial vehicles sector.
The Fiat Ducato starts at £21,445 (excluding VAT).

Fiat Professional will strengthen its offering at the heart of the medium van segment when the versatile and economical all-new Talento goes on sale in Ireland next month.
Designed to offer supreme versatility and choice, the Talento is available in either short or long wheelbase form, a wide variety of body styles and with a choice of powerful and highly efficient state-of-the-art engines.
Behind its compact and stylish exterior lies an impressive all-rounder offering an interior volume of up to 8.6m³ – and enough space to accommodate three Euro pallets even in short wheelbase form – a payload of up to 1,249kg and formidable load pulling power.

Available with a choice of advanced turbo and twin turbo diesel powerplants, Talento can return up to 6.1 l/100km (46.3mpg) on the official combined cycle while CO2 emissions are reduced to as low as 160g/km.
Talento also features a suite of cutting edge FIAT Professional technology – including EBA (emergency brake assistance) and Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) – created to improve the comfort, productivity and safety of those on board.
The arrival of Talento, which is positioned between the Doblò Cargo and Ducato in the FIAT Professional range, gives the brand one of the most complete van ranges available in Ireland, with a model to suit the specific needs of virtually all end users.
Prices for the all-new Fiat Professional Talento start at just €18,735, excluding VAT and VRT.
Intelligent design
Design has been at the core of Talento’s development from the beginning and the vehicle’s stylish appearance adds to its appeal.
With bold, clear-cut lines and an upright stance, Talento is unmistakably part of the Fiat Professional family. But a number of unique styling cues give it a personality of its own.
At a glance, the model is compact and well-proportioned – the forward-stretching windscreen connecting elegantly to the short bonnet to create an imposing and dynamic front end.  This is further enhanced by the grille which is designed to wrap around the headlights for additional effect and added protection.
The squared-off rear end, meanwhile, helps to maximise the Talento’s carrying capacity and the practicality of the load while giving the van a broad stance that exudes stability and strength.
Wide range of body styles
Flexibility is a core strength of the new Talento, with buyers able to choose from a huge array of options to tailor-make a vehicle that fully meets their needs.
Panel vans are available with a standard or high roof in both long and short wheelbase form while people carriers and crew cabs are also available in long and short wheelbase guise.
Innovative features include the “CargoPlus” storage area under the passenger seats which allows professionals to carry objects up to 3.75m in length (4.15 for LWB versions) by sliding them into a special bulkhead opening.
Rear doors can open up to a wide angle of 255° while the sliding side door has an aperture of 1,030 mm and a load edge just 100mm above the ground. The load volume equals 5.2m³ in short wheelbase models, 6m³ in long wheelbase versions and a generous 8.6m³ in the long wheelbase high-roof derivative. This means that the Talento, even in the short wheelbase trim level, is capable of carrying three Euro pallets and, depending on the version, a payload of up to 1,249 kg with a GVW of up to 3,060kg.
Powerful, efficient and economical engines
Beneath the bonnet, the all-new Talento is available with a choice of reliable, powerful and efficient 1.6-litre turbo and twin-turbo diesel engines, all mated with a six-speed manual gearbox as standard.
All employ Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) technology, a system which reduces nitrogen oxide emissions by injecting a solution of non-toxic, non-flammable AdBlue® into the exhaust gas.
The entry-level 95hp 1.6-litre turbo-diesel is ideally suited to city driving thanks to its high torque output of 260Nm and its excellent official combined cycle fuel efficiency figure of 6.5 l/100km (43.5mpg) and low CO2emissions of just 170g/km. In EcoJet specification with Start&Stop, this engine can return an outstanding 6.1 l/100km (46.3mpg) on the official combined cycle and CO2 emissions are further reduced to 160g/km.
The 1.6-litre MultiJet 120hp meanwhile, offers an impressive mix of performance, value-for-money and efficiency, thanks to its 300Nm of torque, official combined cycle fuel efficiency figure of 6.5 l/100km (43.5 mpg) and emissions of just 170g/km.
The 1.6-litre Twin Turbo EcoJet diesel engines employ sophisticated turbo-charging technology to boost both performance and efficiency, resulting in outputs of 125hp and 320Nm of torque and 145hp and 340Nm for the top engine version. The first turbo provides high torque at low speed to ensure excellent engine responsiveness at low-to-medium revs, whereas the second turbo is activated at higher engine speeds to maintain linear performance across the rev range. As a result, there is no efficiency compromises despite the high power and torque outputs – indeed, the 125hp version is actually the most efficient in the range returning 47.9 mpg on the official fuel efficiency combined cycle with emissions of just 155g/km, while the high-performance 145hp engine matches the economy and emissions outputs of the EcoJet 95hp engine: 46.3mpg and 160g/km.
Advanced safety as standard
Safety was a key consideration throughout the development of Talento and as a result all models are equipped with an impressive array safety features.
All versions are fitted with LED daytime running lights, ABS with EBD (electronic brake distribution) and EBA (emergency brake assistance) in addition to a sophisticated ESC system with Hill Holder and Traction+ and a blind spot-mitigating ViewPlus interior mirror as standard.
Buyers can also specify the advanced Trailer Stability Assist (TSA) system which automatically modulates engine power and the braking force applied to each wheel to ensure the stability of both vehicle and trailer.
Other safety options include side airbags and window-bags, a front parking assist system and a reversing camera with a display in the rear-view mirror.
Comfortable and practical cabin
Talento’s cabin is functional, practical and comfortable.
Ergonomically shaped seats, a cleverly designed console and well positioned controls all help to create a relaxing environment.
This clever layout has also created an incredible 90 litres of storage in a variety of shapes and sizes, including compartments hidden under the seat base and behind the seat back of the passenger seats.
Meanwhile, an innovative fold-down central seat features a detachable clipboard holder and optional smartphone/tablet holder.
Standard equipment on the entry level FIAT Professional Talento includes remote central locking, electric front windows (one-touch lowering on the driver’s side), electrically operated and heated door mirrors, a full bulkhead, a height adjustable driver’s seat with lumbar support and an arm rest, dual passenger seat, a powerful audio system, a full-size spare wheel and steering-wheel remote controls. The entry-level Combi Active adds a rear tailgate with luggage cover, passenger airbag, and folding/removable rear seats.
The SX version adds air conditioning, Mobile Office, ViewPlus, rear parking sensors, full wheel covers, upgraded “Living Brown” interior trim and enhanced exterior detailing, while the SX Combi adds 17-inch alloy wheels, front fog lamps, automatic lights and wipers, a leather steering wheel, cruise control with speed limiter, the upgraded audio system with satnav and enhanced exterior and interior detailing.
Orders for FIAT Professional's new Talento will open in Ireland shortly with prices, excluding VAT VRT and dealer related delivery charges, starting at €18,735 for the 1.6-litre MultiJet 95hp SWB standard roof van.
The long-wheelbase FIAT Professional Talento is priced from €20,335 (1.6 MultiJet 120hp), the crew cab starts at €21,145 (1.6 MultiJet 95hp) and the Combi is priced from €24,000 (1.6 MultiJet 95hp)

The 66th edition of the Hannover International Motor Show, the biggest European exhibition of commercial and industrial vehicles, takes place from 22nd to 29th September. The event gathers professionals and major vehicle manufacturers together, including Fiat Professional, in the German city.
In Hannover, Fiat Professional is displaying its entire line-up of commercial vehicles. After being completely refreshed in just two years, today the brand is capable of responding to all professional needs by covering 97% of the market. All body types are offered; loading capacities and volumes; a complete choice of wheelbases widths and height variants, in addition to high-efficiency engines and various fuel options.
Fiat Professional is also focussing on passenger transport and vehicle conversions.
This sector includes shuttles, assisted mobility, mobile workshops, vehicles with cargo beds, vehicles insulated or fitted with cold storage compartments, motorhomes for leisure time and public administration vehicles. In brief, any professional activity or mobility need can be satisfied by Fiat Professional vehicle conversions, as demonstrated by the collaboration with the major European outfitters.

Together with the new products, Fiat Professional is also evolving by expanding the commercial sales force and the dealership network, boosting service quality and accessing new markets with made-to-measure solutions. This means having the right models available, and above all having them available in the right segments – those which represents the largest slice of the sales mix. All this will allow Fiat Professional to balance the European market share with that of Italy and double sales in Africa and the Middle East, where the brand is expanding its network also by exploiting the synergy with Chrysler.
At the Hannover Motor Show, visitors are also able to appreciate the wide range of Mopar, the reference brand for services, Customer Care, original parts and accessories for FCA Group brands. Two models on display (the Ducato and Doblò Cargo) are fitted out with specific equipment studied by the Technical Service Operation Division of the Mopar brand.
Ducato
Ducato is the brand's best seller that over 35 years and six generations has been chosen by over 2.9 million customers. Without considering that more than 600,000 families travel in a Fiat Professional Ducato base motorhome, the Ducato base is the undisputed leader in this sector and a benchmark in the category: over 75% of motorhomes in circulation today have a Ducato base.
Over the years it has gradually enhanced its features to become a trendsetter produced in over 10,000 product variants and sold in more than 80 countries worldwide.
There are three models on the stand starting with the new Combi with a long wheelbase fitted out with the 150 HP 2.3-litre Multijet2 engine, the best of its class in terms of fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The vehicle exhibited comfortably seats 9 people and at the same time boasts a roomy luggage compartment (up to 2m) that is the best of its class. It features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, level control suspensions, a programmable and independent Webasto heating system, camera and parking sensors, control and speed limiter. The vehicle has a refined metallic grey livery with 16" alloy wheels and innovative LED daytime running lights.
This version introduces a new family of vehicles dedicated to people transport that will be enriched in 2017 with the new minibus models that have been fully re-engineered: new interiors, new ergonomic seats, new and efficient air conditioning system and a wide range of customisation for every short or long-range transportation need. Thanks to its low ground clearance and its interior roominess, Ducato is the ideal vehicle for urban and suburban passenger transportation, for both individuals and professionals.
On display at the Hannover show will also be an original Ducato set up in collaboration with the Technical Service Operation Division of the Mopar brand. More specifically, starting with the outstanding versatility of the model, the silver grey vehicle is equipped with a 150 HP 2.3-litre Multijet2 engine. It is a smart and innovative solution dedicated to a professional who uses it as a natural extension of his workplace. By using a quick and safe installation and removal system, Mopar offers a range of equipment suited to the diverse needs of customers. The version presented in Hannover displays a composition with three shelving models arranged on the two sides of the Ducato and storage compartments, drawers and tool cases. To enhance mobility, the vehicle also fits a power generator on an extractable top which can be used to operate a 10 bar air compressor in addition to other devices. Finally, other accessories worth mentioning are two telescopic cargo holding bars, a strap holder case and a handy trolley.
Finally, space is given over to a version on a Ducato with cab and flatbed base that demonstrates the exceptional versatility of the model, which lends itself to countless conversions. Distinguished by a white body, the vehicle is equipped with a 180 HP 2.3-litre Multijet2 engine (Euro 6) and a manual 6-speed transmission. Other equipment includes: 16" alloy wheels, cruise control and speed limiter, leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED daytime running lights and driver's seat with springs for extra comfort. Also installed on the vehicle is the Comfort pack that includes the Uconnect Nav 5’’ radio, rain and dusk sensors, fog lights, automatic A/C, electrically closing rear-view mirrors and driver assistance systems LDWS (Lane Departure Warning System) and HBR (High Beam Recognition).
Fullback
In Hannover two Fullback models are on display.  They are both equipped with a 180 HP 2.4-litre aluminium turbo diesel engine combined with four-wheel drive and manual 6-speed transmission. It is the symbolic product of the new range which is introducing the brand to an entirely new playing field and is a major leap towards Fiat Professional's growth as a global brand. Pick-up trucks are one of the most important segments in the EMEA region amounting to 22% of the entire commercial vehicle mix. Perfectly aligned with the top competition in terms of configurations, size and engines, "Fullback", the Fiat Professional "Work Hero", has been created to answer the specific needs of professional customers: its great flexibility makes it suitable for all kinds of work and leisure activities.
The Fullback recently took part, as the Official Vehicle, in the famous 2016 MXGP FIM Motocross World Championship, where Fiat Professional was Official Sponsor in the three races held in Belgium, Italy and the UK. This particular model is in the "extended cab"  configuration (not available in the UK) and features a sporty dark fabric covering matched with a special livery in keeping with the motocross theme, made in collaboration with Garage Italia Customs. Its equipment includes: underbody skid plates for off-road use, black 16" alloy wheels, black front grille, specific side steps and steel sport bar painted black that emphasises its sporty look.
The second model on display is a "double cab" in the rich LX version, with white livery and dark fabric interior. The vehicle is embellished with tubular side steps, underbody skid plates for off-road use and 17" alloy wheels. The standard equipment includes the automatic A/C unit and the 7” touch display radio with built-in navigation system and rear camera. Also carrying the Mopar signature are several accessories installed on the vehicle, such as the logo valve caps, fabric mats and the loading compartment lining.
Talento
Talento with its generous loading capacity is the ideal work mate for professionals in city streets and on major roads alike. Talento is the link between Doblò Cargo and Ducato and is allowing Fiat Professional to cover new load volumes and lengths and compete in the 2P segment with an ideal-sized wheelbase.
The opening of the “CargoPlus” partition situated under the passenger seats allows professionals to carry objects measuring up to 3.75 metres in length (4.15 m for the long wheelbase trim level).
Its extraordinary accessibility is also guaranteed by the threshold of just 552 mm and the 1030 mm width of the sliding door (100 mm from the floor). The load volume equals 5.2 m3 in the short wheelbase trim level, 6 m3 in the long wheelbase trim level and a generous 8.6 m3 in the long wheelbase and raised roof trim level; this means that the New Talento, even in the short wheelbase trim level, is capable of carrying 3 Euro pallets.
Two models are on display in Hannover: a cargo version and another for passenger transport. The first vehicle distinguished by a pastel white livery, matt black 17" alloy wheels and "Techno Silver" interior including black dashboard and instrument trim painted silver. It is then entirely embellished with silver or chrome interior details.
The vehicle is equipped with the 125 HP 1.6 EcoJet S&S TwinTurbo engine with 320 Nm combined with a manual 6-speed transmission that adopts both SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) technology for reducing emissions of nitrogen oxides, thanks to the use of AdBlue® solution, and a TwinTurbo that reduces emissions and fuel consumption, and consequently also operating costs.
The equipment of the vehicle is completed with three Mopar accessories that make it even more functional: rubber mats, LED interior lights and a smartphone support on the dashboard.
Distinguished by its elegant metallic green paintwork and two comfortable rear sliding doors, the second Talento on display has Matt Black 17" alloy wheels and "Living Brown" interior (black/brown dashboard and glossy black trim with chrome details). A further touch of elegance is given by some internal chrome and glossy black elements, and four Mopar accessories, such as side steps, a smartphone support on the dashboard, fabric mats and protective loading compartment threshold. It is equipped with the 145 HP 1.6 EcoJet S&S TwinTurbo with 340 Nm, combined with a manual 6-speed transmission that is also fitted out with SCR technology and a two-stage turbocharger.
Both models on show are equipped with upper grid with black bars, A/C, rear camera, fog lights and LED daytime running lights built into the bumpers, plus the 7” Radio Touch Nav including the navigation system, AM/FM (+DAB) radio, USB and AUX ports for music files and Bluetooth® technology for hands-free phone use.
Mobility Solution: reduction of the “Total Cost of Ownership”, customised business solutions for customers and sustainability
Together with movability solutions made-to-measure, Fiat Professional boasts an increasingly customer-oriented approach that can be deduced from its constant attention both to reducing "Total Cost of Ownership" and sustainability. In particular, durability, robustness and consequent increase in the residual value, combined with efficiency and low operating costs and the reduction in price of spare parts, allow the Fiat Professional models to boast some of the lowest maintenance and repair costs in its class, an essential contribution to the improvement of Total Cost of Ownership between the purchase and the sale of the vehicle.
New Fiorino
Another new model of the range exhibited at the Hannover Motor Show is the new Fiorino, the evolution of the model that invented the small van segment. With a refreshed design, inside and out, the New Fiorino is perfect for use in cities, agile in traffic and easy to park. It has a remarkable loading capacity of up to 2.8 m3 and can carry up to 660 kg of payload. The New Fiorino is at the top of its class in terms of performance, low running costs, comfort and functionality.
Doblò Cargo
The heir to a winning model – it has been sold to over 1.6 million customers from 2000 to date – the Doblò Cargo offers the widest range in its segment (from vans to combis, plus the conversion versions for specific uses) and aims at consolidating its position in this market segment, which makes up approximately 25% of the European total light commercial vehicles. Ram 1500 Quad Cab Sport
For the first time ever the Ram Truck brand is taking part in the Hannover Motor Show, thus marking the brand's début as an integration of the Commercial Vehicles offer to seize the potential in the EMEA market.
The vehicle on display is the Ram 1500 Quad Cab Sport with 5.7-litre HEMI® petrol engine and automatic 8-speed transmission. Distinguished by a Bright White livery, the vehicle has been modified to accommodate an LPG system, a very common option in Europe which allows the driver to switch between two fuel options (LPG or petrol) and to reduce fuel consumption while maintaining high performance driving.
Ideal for both work and leisure activities, the versatility of this configuration is further confirmed by the Mopar accessories created for commercial vehicles, including the side steps and black tool case. In addition, the Ram 1500 Quad Cab Sport offers a tow bar approved for the European market, and standing out among the options are the bucket seats with leather inserts, the loading compartment with tilting flat surface, the rear axle ratio of 3.92 and rear axle with anti-roll differential. Finally, the vehicle has a hood for sports performance and an under rail cargo bed covering.
