Lexus ranked no.1 manufacturer in the 2014 Which? Car Survey

Lexus has been ranked Britain’s number one car manufacturer again, this time in the nation’s biggest survey of car reliability, the 2014 Which? Car Survey.
Having received feedback on more than 58,000 cars, the survey placed Lexus – the UK and Europe’s fastest-growing premium marque – taking top spot with an average brand score of 88 per cent, 10 points higher than the test average. A maximum five stars for reliability, an 87 per cent customer score and two Which? “best buy” recommendations sealed the result.
The survey success follows its 12th top manufacturer ranking in the What Car?/JD Power customer satisfaction survey.
Announcing the result, Which? Car Guide says: “If you want a luxury car, you might not have to opt for something German. Lexus drivers sing the praises of this brand – and they get fault-free motoring.”

The current RX 450h is highlighted as the “standout performer” in the range, recommended as a 4×4 best buy for being “comfy and luxurious” and having a “superb reliability track record". Proving Lexus’s reputation for lasting quality, the previous generation RX is revealed as one of the top three in its class among 4x4s more than three years old, hailed as being “just as dependable as newer Japanese 4x4s”.
The Lexus LS strengthens the brand’s success, gaining the best buy seal of approval in the luxury car category, with the previous generation GS recommended among older models, with peerless reliability again a decisive factor.
Richard Balshaw, Lexus Director, said: “With such impressive scope and in-depth research, the Which? Car Survey is a commanding snapshot of what Britain’s car customers really think. This makes Lexus’s success particularly rewarding.
“We are proud to offer our customers cars that are not only exceptionally reliable, comfortable and luxurious, but which also deliver exciting innovation in styling and advanced technologies. And with hybrid at the heart of our entire model line-up, we continue to offer unmatched opportunities for driving refinement and performance that is both environmentally superior and cost-efficient, supported by the best customer service in the industry.”

MG rated third best brand in annual Driver Power survey, yeah right, better than Lexus, Mercedes and more...... mmmmm....

  • British motorists have voted MG third best manufacturer in UK
  • Awards voted for by 50,000 car owners  and readers of Auto Express; the UK’s biggest selling weekly automotive magazine
  • MG6 also wins Auto Express 2014 Driver Power award for Best Handling
  • SMMT figures show MG is fastest growing brand in UK in 2014
  • MG6 range from just £15,455 to £21,195 and PCP from only £199 a month
  • MG3 range from £8,399 to just £9,999 or PCP offers from just £99 a month or zero deposit
MG adds another podium position to its 90th year celebrations after being voted the third best manufacturer in the UK in the highly influential 2014 Auto Express Driver Power Survey.

This tops off a superb return to Driver Power for MG, which also saw the MG6 take sixth place in the model rundown as well as being crowned best-handling car. British brands took second and third place with MG finishing just behind Jaguar, with scores of 89.34 per cent and 88.98 per cent respectively.

Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief of Auto Express, said: “While some brands have exceeded expectations and scored highly for particular categories, MG has scored well across the board. It took second place in the handling section and third place for both ride quality and seat comfort. It’s great to see British brands doing well.”
Guy Jones, Sales and Marketing Director of MG Motor UK said “MG has made a significant investment in British design, engineering and assembly and we are delighted to see that this has resulted in UK customers loving our new range of cars. The goal of the British team based in Birmingham is to continue to deliver the MG brand values and create affordable British cars with character making them great value and fun to drive, buy and own.  With these awards and SMMT figures showing that MG is the fastest growing brand in the UK this year, we are clearly succeeding”
He continued: The launch of our new supermini MG3 has increased brand awareness and enabled us to significantly expand our UK dealer network attracting thousands of new customers into the brand. The appeal of the MG6 has also been significantly increased with the addition of the superb new high-tech, performance diesel with only 129g CO2 resulting in zero road tax in the first year. Both cars have extremely low insurance groups from just 4E for MG3 and 13E for MG6 meaning you can have a car that is fun to drive at a low cost to insure, which is especially important for younger drivers”.

This year MG celebrates its 90th anniversary with the business in better shape than it has ever been.  In the UK, MG is not only winning awards for its cars but it is also winning on the track, with the MG6 GT jointly leading the fiercely competitive British Touring Car Championship.  Globally MG is expanding in over 40 markets with major investment in new models from parent company SAIC. To celebrate this milestone year, MG is inviting both new and old fans of the brand to see past present and future MGs at the MG 90 event on 21st and 22nd June at the world famous Silverstone race circuit.
Driver Power is the annual reader survey of Britain’s top-selling weekly car magazine, Auto Express. Now in its 13th year, the survey questions motorists on all aspects of the ownership experience, including reliability, running costs and comfort. The results will be published in the 30 April issue of Auto Express, while autoexpress.co.uk will be providing analysis of the data.

ŠKODA sees off industry competition to secure top spot for customer satisfaction

  • ŠKODA sees off industry competition to secure top spot for customer satisfaction
  • Named top brand for the fourth time in five years
  • Yeti, Citigo and Superb revealed as the UK’s most satisfying cars to own
  • Annual Auto Express survey uses data from 50,000 owners
ŠKODA has recorded its second key Driver Power triumph in seven days after being awarded the prestigious ‘Best Manufacturer’ title by the readers of Auto Express. Respondents to the annual customer satisfaction survey named ŠKODA as the number one brand thanks to exceptional scores across the product range.

The award for Best Manufacturer comes just a week after the ŠKODA Yeti, Citigo and Superb finished in the top three positions of the 2014 Driver Power 100 – a ranking of the UK’s most satisfying cars to own. The Best Manufacturer title was secured thanks to high ratings from respondents across the entire line-up. It’s also a title ŠKODA has become used to receiving, having won it four times in the last five years.
Commenting on ŠKODA’s repeat victory, Steve Fowler, Editor-in-Chief of Auto Express said: “ŠKODA’s win in the Driver Power manufacturer league table comes a week after the Yeti, Citigo and Superb topped the model table. Across the board, owners are satisfied with pretty much every aspect of ŠKODA ownership. ŠKODA now sets the standard other car makers must strive to reach.”
The annual Auto Express Driver Power Customer Satisfaction Survey remains one of the industry’s most influential reports, with over 50,000 owners contributing in 2014. Thanks to its performance in both the model and manufacturer categories, ŠKODA was once again the most successful brand in the 2014 survey.
Alasdair Stewart, Brand Director for ŠKODA UK said: “This fabulous result emphasises ŠKODA’s strength in depth. To become the best manufacturer, you need quality throughout the range, and at ŠKODA we have that. Whether a customer chooses a Citigo or a Superb, they’re guaranteed a great car.”

Lexus celebrates Best Manufacturer win in Auto Express Driver Power Awards

Lexus named best manufacturer in 2013 survey

Lexus has been named top manufacturer in the 2013 Auto Express Driver Power survey, returning to the number one spot after four years as runner-up.

The results, based on the opinions and real-life experiences of more than 45,000 UK motorists, reflect the special quality, owner-appeal and performance of Lexus models.

Steve Fowler, Auto Express editor-in-chief, said: “Lexus takes a well deserved top spot in the Driver Power 2013 manufacturer chart. It finished first in three out of the 10 categories in our survey, and second in two others – a hugely impressive result.

“More than anything, Lexus customers praised their cars’ premium qualities – they’re expertly put together, packed with gadgets and a pleasure to drive.”

Richard Balshaw, Lexus Division Director, said: “We’re delighted to have earned this award again, the competition becomes tougher every year.

“Lexus came to the market promising to deliver a new and better customer experience, and we’ve stayed true to that promise by creating cars that deliver luxury, style, reliability and a great driving experience.

“Today our range of models is more extensive and more technically advanced than ever. It’s set to grow further this summer with the all new IS sports saloon, which for the first time will offer the option of full hybrid power. This means even more customers will be discovering what makes the difference when it comes to owning and driving a Lexus.”
