Purpose

I will try my best to provide detailed info on various cars and what is like to live with them, I have already produced a few for Jaguar-car-forums, I will do my best to be unbiased, but it will be hard for some cars. I will re-produce press releases and copy from other motoring news.

Jeep believes that black Friday offers should be any colour and any day of the week, so that's what they are doing.

An exciting special promotion on the stunning new Jeep Renegade, using a twist on the famous ‘Black Friday’ sales event, has been launched by the iconic SUV brand.
Under the banner ‘It doesn’t have to be Black, and it doesn’t have to be Friday’, the new campaign seeks to offer a great deal to customers considering the new Renegade small SUV, but allows them any day of the week to sign up for one – until 19 December.

Following on from the record-breaking Black Friday last week (27 November), the new Jeep campaign expands and develops the nationwide mega-discount promotion and offers an extra £750 off a new Jeep Renegade for the special limited period. The promotion is valid atparticipating Jeep dealers and on selected stock vehicles.
The advertised suggestion is to use the £750 to reduce monthly payments to just £169 per month , for example, on a Renegade 1.4 140hp Longitude, using a Jeep Horizon PCP at 0% APR representative, with customer deposit of £3986 and optional final payment of £10,272.
And it doesn’t only have to be on a black car – Jeep’s advertising campaign suggests ‘Alpine White Monday’, ‘Colorado Red Tuesday’ and ‘Solar Yellow Wednesday’, but there are 11 colours in total to choose from.
“This is an outstanding promotion which brings further savings to an already excellent value for money car,” says Damien Dally, head of brand, Jeep UK.
“We enjoyed the fun and excitement of Black Friday, but we also wanted to show that good deals on a great car should not just be for one day. With this new campaign I hope we can help our customers into a new Jeep Renegade before Christmas!”
The Jeep Renegade range starts at £17,295 OTR for the 1.6E-TorQ Evo Sport, rising to £28,595 for the 2.0 MultiJet II Trailhawk.

Mercedes takes advantage of the weeks huge shopping & delivery services as the countdown to Christmas begins.

The explosion of e-commerce in the UK has changed the shape of the courier and logistics industry, with B2C deliveries now dominating the landscape, and with ‘Black Friday’ tomorrow, the UK’s busiest trading period has begun.
Starting tomorrow, UK shoppers are estimated to spend £3.49 billion over the next four days, culminating in ‘Cyber Monday’ according to the Centre for Retail Research (CRR). More than £2.2 billion of this will be spent online – an increase of 16% compared to the same period last year – according to CRR.

Visa Europe has estimated Black Friday shoppers will put £721 million of online purchases on its cards, up 17% on last year and a 61% increase on 2013.
Mercedes-Benz Vans has launched the first of a series of insight papers, investigating how Britain’s most successful fleets have been preparing for this busy winter operating period, to give wider companies the opportunity to learn from the best practice highlighted.
In addition to the insights around the use of technology centred on fleet operations, the Winter Operating Insight paper, which can be found via www.mbvans.co.uk/industryinsight, also focuses on the rises in Sunday delivery services, which have become widespread over the last two years. Hermes, Parcelforce, DPD and the Royal Mail were all offering Sunday deliveries by the end of 2014. Amazon reported in January 2015 that Sunday deliveries had quadrupled over the 12-month period beginning the previous January.
Amazon and Argos both launched 7-day same-day retail deliveries this year, with Argos becoming the UK’s first high street retailer to offer same-day delivery 7 days a week. In addition, as well as national same-day delivery, their Prime Now app allows Amazon Prime customers in some parts of London and Birmingham to receive their orders within the hour.
All of this means that the demands and pressures of vehicle fleets are greater than ever before. Keeping vehicles on the road and operating at such a high level – with one courier company commenting that on average, the door opens and closes on their Sprinter vans more than 150 times a day – is the common thread tying all winter fleets together.
Statistics from MobiloVan – Mercedes-Benz Vans free 30 year roadside assistance offering – highlights that during week 48 in 2014, vehicle breakdowns increased by 26% compared to the same week in 2013, reflecting the increase in vans on the road during ‘Black Friday’ weekend.
Steve Bridge, Managing Director, Mercedes-Benz Vans, commented: “For courier companies to deliver on their promises, it is crucial that they choose a vehicle that can keep up with their demands. This time of year, not only do courier fleets have to deal with Black Friday, but also extremes in weather – we have already seen the first snow of the season, and the gritters are now officially out.
“It makes me incredibly proud that the vehicle of choice for courier companies is Sprinter, and like all Mercedes-Benz Vans, Sprinters are backed by three-year, unlimited mileage warranties and, when they are maintained within our Dealer Network, also come with reassuring MobiloVan cover which runs for 30 years and includes free Service 24h emergency roadside assistance.
“It is not by accident that Sprinter rules this sector, and we look forward to celebrating the successes of Black Friday with our customers.”

Volvo can arrange for your Christmas shopping to be delivered to your car, whilst you are at work. area specific only.

With just days to go before Black Friday and Cyber Monday – the busiest online shopping days of the Christmas season – Sweden’s Volvo Cars has unveiled a brand-new way to take some of the hassle out of Christmas shopping.
The premium car maker has launched the world’s first commercially available in-car delivery service by teaming up with PostNord, the Nordic region’s leading communication and logistics supplier, Lekmer.com, the leading Nordic online toy and baby goods store, and Mat.se, a Swedish online grocery retailer, to have Christmas toys, gifts, food and drinks delivered to its cars.

Volvo In-car Delivery promises to bring some of the cheer back to Christmas by eradicating the more unpleasant aspects of seasonal shopping such as a desperate search for a parking space in a busy city centre, crowds of stressed people and the disappointment of missed deliveries.
The Volvo In-car Delivery works by means of a digital key, which is used to gain one-time access to your vehicle. Owners simply order the goods online, receive a notification that the goods have been delivered and then just drive home with them.
“Christmas is fun – but let’s be honest, it is also a busy time for most families. This service simply makes shopping easier,” said Björn Annwall, Senior Vice President for Marketing, Sales and Service at Volvo. “Volvo In-car Delivery provides concrete proof that connected car technologies can be used to save people time and make their lives easier.”
Volvo In-car Delivery is currently available only for Volvo drivers in Gothenburg who subscribe to the Volvo On Call service, but it will be introduced elsewhere in Sweden and to other countries in future. There will also be a wider range of goods available for In-car Delivery as Volvo joins forces with more companies in future.
The service is extremely simple to use. Volvo owners just choose the In-car Delivery option at the online checkout when they buy their gifts, food, drinks or other packages.
The Volvo In-car Delivery service is a good example of Volvo’s broader attitude to how new technologies can be introduced to its cars.
Volvo is always keen to explore new technologies, be it in the areas of safety, autonomous driving or connectivity, but believes fundamentally in Nordic utility – meaning it will introduce a technology only if it actually saves lives, saves time, adds an element of convenience or benefits drivers.
“Volvo is not interested in technology for the sake of technology,” said Klas Bendrik, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Volvo. “If a technology does not make a customer’s life easier, better, safer or more fun, we don’t use it.”
